EDIT: I've been charged AGAIN for a vacated unit. Six attempts to cancel my rental with no response. The site is clean and well maintained. I had a unit in their climate controlled building, and it was, well, climate controlled. My only issue is administrative. There is no easy way to end a unit rental. Wendy is fantastic. If you read no further than this, let it be known that she is an amazing business owner who cares about her customers. Once upon a time, I bought a couch while I was living in an apartment, and didn't have anywhere to put it. We had just bought a house, but we were at that in-between time when you don't quite live in the house yet, but don't want to haul a couch up the stairs to your apartment (PIVOT, anyone?). I called Wendy, she had storage, I put the couch in the smallest unit she could rent me and it lived there for a month until I got into my house. It was a short, but sweet experience, and I swore to myself that if I ever needed storage again, I was going to call Wendy. Fast-forward eight years and I had cause to use Room to Spare again. Only this time, Wendy had no room to spare. I checked. I even asked if she'd let me move some stuff into her basement for a short time. I honestly think if I'd begged, she may have given in and let me store some things down there. She's just that nice. Wendy didn't have any storage for me, but was so sweet on the phone and explained to me why things are the way they are. In this market, people are selling their houses quickly and then have nowhere to go. They move into an apartment until they can find a place, but then have to put all their furniture SOMEWHERE while they are waiting. Hence, all the storage units are being used. So no, I didn't get to use Wendy's services. She did offer to put me on her waiting list, but my need was immediate and I was able to put into place a backup plan. Oh, I should also mention that when I was first looking into selling my house, I stopped into Room to Spare to talk to them about packing supplies and them helping me sell some of my crap that I didn't want to bring with me to my new (downsized) place. The staff is so accommodating and kind and patient. I swear, one day I'm going to need to store more stuff and Wendy is going to have a place for me to put my belongings where she and her little storage angels will keep close watch over them. And if by chance I make it through the next few years without needing storage, I might just stop in anyway and bring her a coffee. She's just the kind of gal you can't help but want to make your friend. (Wendy, if you're reading this, what do you take in your coffee?) read more

Upon concluding our 2+ year rental at Room-to-Spare, the owner Wendy has continued to harass both me and my family, as she isn't happy with our review (which I won't get into again here as it's now been escalated to a legal matter). However, as we await the legal process to play out, it's sad to see that Wendy apparently continues to treat her clients poorly when faced with "unhappy" reviews....per her latest post, she proudly points out that she's been taken to court several times by other clients as well, which clearly indicates a pattern. We feel very sorry for Wendy and hopes that she may be able to get the help she needs. read more

Great, woman-owned business. We rented the truck for them for our in-town move. We paid a deposit up front and then when we returned the truck we were refunded the amount we didn't use. Truck was clean and the transaction was easy. The owner is great to work with and very responsive to questions or concerns. This was a great alternative to using U-Haul! read more

I just heard that this business has a fed ex drop off. I had two big boxes to take here......had close parking, owner on site with very knowledgeable info. They advised if you go to the fed ex hubs, you pay 38% more and they do not mark up like the hubs do. My daughter will get her gifts in 2 days and will get an email when gifts are received. Also a WOMAN owned business. Has a lot of options for many things you never thought off. I will go back and tell all my friends. How nice is it when you have great customer service. Zero stars. Went there for professional pack and ship service. Staff was completely incompetent. When I said I'm going to go elsewhere due to loss of confidence after more than 20 minutes, I still had to pay for 30.00 worth of bubble wrap they wasted in their incompetence. Dishonest. First, they charged us for two slots when we needed only one. They refunded the error same day. We kept our vehicle in their facility for nine days, but were charged for 2 months plus a deposit. We gave written and verbal notice, they acknowledged both (Message me, I'll provide the emails from them). Room to Spare told our credit card company that they did not receive written notice (even though they'd replied to our written notice with a "thank you for letting us know). Even had they not received written notice that they acknowledged with an email response, it still would not have been appropriate to charge for two months of storage when the storage period was nine days, nine days that didn't span the turn of the month. They tried to triple-charge and after 3 months of back and forth with the credit card company, the credit card company looked at the emails, payments, and attempted charges and resolved in our favor. At the end of the day, they are not honest. I'm grateful my credit card company took the time to review emails and make phone calls. read more

My husband and I have been using RtS for years. It's the one errand we fight about running cuz we both love to go . The women managing this biz make the most mundane task of shipping packages FUN. They have always gone the extra mile to ensure we are getting the best price and you can't beat Fed x delivery whether ground or air . We could never purchase the materials they use at their prices or pack it as safely at home as they do PLUS no long lines at the Post Office. Besides just performing this to perfection the array of products for sale at the store is practical to funky at prices lower than big box stores ! I have dealt with Room to Spare for quite some time and it is clearly the premier storage facility. I have very high standards for cleanliness and they have surpassed them everytime. The contract leaves no room for interpretation and anything I was not clear on was explained thoroughly. One of the many items I have stored there was my Harley Davidson. The climate controlled room kept it in pristine condition. Wendy has been able to accommodate whatever size unit I needed. The staff is wonderful and so welcoming. read more

The owner and employees have the worst customer service skills ever. They lie and try to scam customers by overcharging and when caught are brutal to deal with. I would suggest not using this company. read more
