From outside looks like small town America bar and it is but wow the burgers are cheap and really really good. Fries are extra but are home made and a single order was enough for 3! Canned or bottled beer. Felt like I was back home with my friends. Will return and highly recommend it. read more

We stopped in at the recommendation of our hotel after a long day of travel. There were a handful of people at the bar. We sat at a table and waited. And waited. And waited. The bartender looked at us several times and then went over to her basket of food and ignored us. We left, and a local outside told us the pizza place across the street and the Mexican place were much better. read more

We went here for dinner on Google reviews. What a pleasant surprise. It is definitely a locals bar. Everyone that came in knew everyone except us , But they were all friendly. The bar tender Mike was doing it all. Sling in drinks and cooking too. We both got 2 vodka and sodas and Double cheeseburgers and we split an order of fries. All was out standing. That was one of the best burgers I've eaten and I've had A lot of burgers. The fries were hand cut and cooked to perfection. Excellent job Mike!! Greasy little dive bar. Went once on a trip to the UP. Clientele outside were a bit rude and made a comment to my gf but I understand the bar can't control that. Sat at the bar and waited abt 5 min before getting a drink but otherwise, good drinks, cheap, and the bartender was very nice. read more

I mean it's alright. The walls are all the beer mirrors and lots of sketchy people when I was there. Drink selection is really good and pretty cheap. Bartender was friendly and played rap and rock music. The place must be renovating because there was trash everywhere read more

I tripped over the UP Pub when all the other restaurants in Calumet were closed during off season. It is a real gem camouflaged behind a slightly dive-bar ambience. Their burger is one of the best ever and the fires home cut and cooked to perfection. Mike, the bartender/cook (versus the other bartender Mike and the owner Mike) is culinary trained and does a fantastic job with the food. When I wanted my burger configured a little differently than the standard menu versions, he was happy to do it - frankly even proud of his work. The prices are great too and the regular patrons are great to talk to. I will be up here 4-5 times this year for work, and I have found my favorite hangout. I just hope it isn't overflowing with people when the tourists arrive. read more

The fries are hand cut in front of you using big russet spuds skin and all. If you dine with a friend or small group split the fries. One can not beat $1.00 tappers of Hamm's beer . My wife had 3 gin with tonics I had 3 tappers with burgers and fries. $20.00. Last time I went to Mac billon burger palace the price was about the same for something that looked like a burger. Do not bypass this copper country gem when in Calumet. Don't let the ambience scare you away. This place appears to have been around for a long time. The atmosphere is definitely local. Friendly, open, and real. The service is great and the staff is genuinely interested in your experience. The food is simple pub grub but homemade from fresh ingredients. It ain't Applebees in Allentown but you are welcome wherever you come from. If you prefer reality to pretention you will like the pub! read more
