Craft cocktails!
Cheryl R.

Wow! Wow! Wow! New owners and wow, did they do a nice job! Bartender creates marvelous, crafty cocktails with select spirits, fresh juices, infused syrups, and spices. He was very knowledgeable about all the cocktails, ingredients, and beers too. Inside is clean, updated, slightly swanky, but very welcoming. Do not pass by this unassuming bar without stopping!!!

Food menu- highly recommend the pickled eggs and pudding shots!

An awesome rural bar! The type of place where the bartender cooks herself a frozen pizza for dinner and offers a slice to everyone in the bar (this actually happened lol- there were only three of us in there at the time). Awesome pickled eggs too! We just got drinks, but I was impressed that they actually have a small food menu too. We will definitely return next time we're in the area!

Great stop while sled (snow mobile) touring the Keweenaw Peninsula. I recommend the foot long Vollwerths hot dogs...they were grilled to hot dog perfection. We were there during the 'Toilet Bowl' which for this year was the Lions blowing out the Packers 31-0, and since this place has fans of both - and remained a friendly atmosphere- it was nice, filled with locals and tourists alike.

One word: YUK. The Cliff View Bar is associated with a motel of sorts. It sits out on US41 in the middle of nowhere in the middle of the Keneewaw peninsula, This place is frequented by the local yokels as well as the passing pub crawling tourist. The interior is done in clear white pine paneling, walls are covered in old pictures and bar signs, and an old toilet seat. The lavatory features ice filled urinals, in case your junk needs to get chilled. Overall, the place is a sorry looking, run down local bar. At least the bartender was cute and made strong drinks. This place reminds me of the dive bars in hollywood.

New Interior, lighter and brighter!

It's been kind of rough finding a place to enjoy food that is fresh and not overpriced. I avoided this restaurant because I don't go out to eat Italian food being Italian. I'm super picky and I make enough Italian food at home that I like to go out and eat things that I don't normally make myself. But a friend of mine wanted to go there so we did and I'm so glad! I walked in and saw the black tablecloths and thought well it's probably gonna be overpriced and like most Italian restaurants I'm not gonna like the food but I will enjoy the company. The menu is filled with so many non-Italian options. Watching the food come out of the kitchen and go to different tables. It was hard because everything looked so good and presented so well. I hadn't had fish tacos in about a year other than the ones I've made at home and mine are not the greatest! Haven't figured out the sauce yet anyway these were unlike anything I've ever tried before, but definitely delicious. I ordered french fries because it came with chips which I thought was kind of weird. It still is kind of an odd option to go with fish tacos, but my girlfriend across the table for me got these homemade chips so much that she had to take them home and they're delicious! French fries were fine. They weren't anything over the top special but they were good dipped in their homemade blue cheese! So good! After everybody got there first entrée, I was so hungry and watching her eat her side salad I ordered one. It's not huge, but it's fresh and it's four dollars! Seriously I couldn't believe how good it was. I love blue cheese and when she told me it was homemade I was skeptical. Definitely delicious. All three of us really enjoyed our food. Our waitress was real attentive. The restaurant was not overly full, but it was busy. The inside is clean and beautiful. I found another gem! There's not many of them here, but this is definitely one of them! Looking forward to my next date night I'm gonna get my hubby to try it. He's gonna love this place.

Spaghetti was good, the ravioli was very tasty, a light flavor of nutmeg in the meat was a pleasant surprise. The roll had a flaky crust, and fresh and soft inside. My husband ordered the Korean Barbecue sandwich and loved it. The bread impressed him, and he's not a bread guy. Our second visit I ordered the Cudighi sausage sandwich, and again enjoyed the seasonings and bread. I ordered sweet potato fries, they were crisp and tasty. My husband ordered Philly cheese steak sandwich with waffle fries. The sandwich was decent. The waffle fries were crispy, but could have used more seasoning. If you're hungry, this is a good place to eat!

Don't bother complaining about your meal because the owner will just take it into the kitchen eat it and come back and tell you she thought it tasted fine , really? Who does that? I'm told that the best Thank You notes are not written the next day. That's what this feels like,…read morefor we had an amazing experience for our 29th (!!) wedding anniversary. We knew a bit about the restaurant beforehand (I stopped in over the summer to buy a gift certificate), but this was our first time dining. We've had family style dinner before and, honestly, we're very open-minded eaters. We didn't even read a menu and let the staff take care of us. It turns out that we were in very good hands. The service is very attentive and friendly. We joked with our server as we learned about the menu and asked questions. It was a perfect mix of information and 'let us show you more.' The restaurant itself is sizeable with a few areas perfect for larger groups. We were seated at a high top, which felt a bit like the cat-bird seat. We were able to see everything and people watch without being rude or obtrusive. Seeing how others reacted to the food - and getting a preview before ours arrived - was fun and informative at the same time. The tricky part of this recap is the fact that the menu is very fluid. I can tell you how amazing the antipasto was - the memory of the caper berries still makes my mouth water - but your plate may arrive with completely different items. The adventure is trying things that either you've never had before or not in this preparation. Simply put, I recommend the prix fixe family dinner. Let yourself be guided by the food and try everything in front of you. That said, we learned that the kitchen makes their favorites on Saturday nights, so you might have a chance to enjoy the silky gnocchi or the sublime orecchiette. Since Strega Nonna offers kitchen courses, I am keeping an eye on the schedule in hopes of recreating something that we enjoyed or learning something completely new to me. The music was very enjoyable and did not impede conversation. It was the perfect backdrop for our food adventure, allowing us to chat about the restaurant and food or simply enjoy the tastes while listening. Thank you to everyone at Strega Nonna that made our anniversary so special. We're thrilled to have you in Negaunee and look forward to taking more 'tours' with your food and fun!

When I have to pay 23.00 for a burger it better be good. With that, I have the give this an 8.5 out of 10. It was truly a very good burger with perfectly seasoned fries cooked to perfection. With reference to the wife's curry all I can say is nothing but positive adjectives to describe what she was eating finalizing with one of the top three Curry Dishes she has ever had. Ambiance was fine. Large Movie screen on wall. Interesting and fitting, you could say trendy. Nothing special, nothing lacking. Service was fine. A three primarily due to price for value but both dish options we tried were above average for taste.
