Last fall I went in to pay extra so that my house payment would not increase. Went to the teller and "He" said he wasn't quite sure where to put this payment. I said, I want you to be sure as I don't want my house payment to increase. He hummed and hawed. I decided to go to the Salem branch and make the payment. They new exactly what to do. Not so for the Albany Oregon branch. Now I want to pay on the principle of my home loan and will venture to another US branch than to try the Albany Oregon branch again. read more

In 35 years of business I have never seen such treatment and violation of civil rights at a national bank in my life. What was suppose to be a relatively simple transaction turned out to be a complete nightmare that lasted close to 2 hours. My 85 year old mother who has difficulty walking entered the bank to get a cashier's check for $67,000. Very simple because I printed out exactly the way the check was to be written on an index card and that was handed to the teller. The teller did not follow instructions and screwed up the cashier's check. This started a chain of events that would end very badly and was made profoundly worse by the branch manager. My mom did not catch the error until she returned to the car. When she discovered the mistake which was 2 minutes later, she walked back into the bank and asked the teller to create a new instrument and was told that could not happen because it's a cashier's check. That is when I became involved to try and rectify the situation.. The teller could have simply redeposited the check and issued a new one as originally instructed. He instead told me it could not be done and reiterated what he told my mother. I vehemently told him he was wrong and he referred me to his manager. The lack of knowledge in banking regulations exasperated the mistake to a point of elderly abuse for keeping my mother hostage for literally an hour and a 1/2 trying to correct a mistake that they made. I cannot go into too much more detail because I do plan on litigation as well as filng a complaint with the division of financial regulations of the state of Oregon. The teller eventually recognized his mistakes and was very apologetic, but the branch manager is so arrogant that he never even addressed my mother and refused to apologize to her even after I asked him to. I guarantee you he would never never ever in his life allow anyone and I mean anyone to treat his mother or grandmother in the manner that he treated my 85 year old mother!!! We use to park millions of dollars at this institution, but in the last decade have moved all funds to other banks for good reason. read more

The people who work there are rude not only to me but other customers. The manager chubby guy with a scrungy beard is the worst.

If I could give them 0 stars I would. Drive through banked was rude, unhelpful and incompetent. I've never had issues cashing a "third party check" but apparently it's against this banks policy. I've been cashing third party checks every other week for the past 6 months. I went in to the bank to see a teller to cash my check a few days later. Of course the same thing happened. Do not bank with them unless you want to deal with a bunch of incompetent. Update: after I posted this review they would NOT stop harassing me. 2-3 phone calls every day for about 3 weeks. You think they'd take the hint that I didn't want to speak to anyone the first 3 calls maybe?! read more

Us bank steals from another hard working customer. We somehow had charges on our account from an airline and motel in new York. We cought it soon enough to stop it. But us bank had to let it go through so they. So the next two month we had money put back into our account. Then taken back out. Had a different amount put back in and two different amounts pulled back out. Then the original chargers from the bank fraud in the first place simply disappeared. So the us bank simply kept over a thousand dollars of mine. And there's paper work says they did write. I could never get direct deposit to work. No business could find my account. Went in to get some information on loans. My husband and I got wonderful service and great information. Juan was very helpful and super nice. We actually had a good time talking about loans if you can believe it. Will definitely be back as long as they have folks like Juan working there. I would also like to mention while I waited my turn I listened to the tellers speaking to the customers. They were all very nice and friendly to everyone. Nice bank all around! I'm unbiased ( I don't even know if i got the loan yet). Either way they were just really nice people in there. read more

Been banking with US Bank for my business about 10 years now. I have to honestly say the service at the Albany, OR Santiam branch is the worst. If you are in a hurry, like most business owners, this is not the branch for you. They usually run just 1 teller at the counter at any given time. Sometimes they run 2 windows open....gasp! They are nice enough working with you. The problem is how long do you want to wait before being helped? They say they are a super busy branch and that's why there are lines. Well, if your a busy branch wouldn't you staff accordingly to try to minimize these issues? Many times the line extends out to the door. Instead of maybe opening another window to help move the line, they just act like you dont exist. What I really like is when they have a huge line of people waiting in the lobby for an extended period and then a car pulls up in the drive thru. They immediately close the window on whatever poor customer WAS being helped and rush over to drive thru. I cant think of a better way to tell the poor individual at the counter and the people waiting patiently, or impatiently in the line, that they dont matter. They are waiting 10-15 minutes or longer in line and a car pulls up in drive thru and they get immediate attention. Something is wrong with that type of customer service. On the plus side, they have online bank deposits now. I can just take a photo of my checks and make the deposit without having to step foot in the bank. This has saved me a ton of time wasted in line at the branch. 9 out of 10 times I step in the Santiam branch, no matter the time of day, I'm gonna get stuck in a line. Just a fact. I have lost track of how many times I have just walked out instead of waiting to be helped. On the other hand, the downtown Albany branch is always running smooth. I have never waited more than about 60 seconds. 9 out of 10 times I just walk right up to the counter. I would like to use the downtown location more often but it's not convenient for me. What would work better is the Santiam location figuring out their customer service issues so people can get in and out consistently in a reasonable amount of time. read more

A few years ago, during a major transition in my life, I had a pretty major falling out with my bank. they had just been bought, and many other policies were changing. They took away 12 overdraft forgivenesses that I had accumulated, which was frustrating, but now the ladies across the counter didn't seem quite so friendly either. Perhaps this was just my perception, nevertheless, it was time to start shopping for a new bank... A place that felt honest again. I checked out some local credit unions as well as some bigger corporations and US Bank, I found, was the best fit for a middle America single father. OPTIONS - What can I say, they got it all! I do most of my banking online, but occasionally I wonder in the branch at Santiam in Waverly. Anything and everything is available, from CDs to simple personal banking or just a kids savings account. If you take a moment, go in, and sit down with a personal banker and tell them what your needs are, they will set you on the right path. Like I said it's all available, just ask. ATTITUDE - Cheerful, courteous, and helpful, nobody's ever been rude to me. they always ask my little boy can have a piece of candy before they ask him ..extra points!! Attitude is usually hit or miss for businesses of this nature and I feel they hit the mark. RELIABILITY - Any problems I've had have consistently been addressed in a quick and painless fashion. My money is always available to me, wether over the net, phone, or an ATM. Not something offered by most credit unions. FEES - I pay nothing for my checking account, as it should be! All the other services I use are very reasonable after having compared to the industry standard. CONVENIENCE - With ATMs in most areas and the internet option available I'm not sure if ease of access could get better. I suppose they could come to my house, but they already pay my bills for me, I just watch the numbers move around, or not. Great for a busy lifestyle in which yes, I've FORGOTTEN to pay a bill or two over the years. read more
