After months of being misled about their position for financing our project, lack of First Western's banker competency and staffing shortage (according to the Market President) left us in a critical position with no time to pursue other avenues. Their profound lack of communication (internally and externally) was a major factor that cost us a future. As we experienced, First Western's propaganda has proven their principles and values as disingenuous and deceitful. This credit union has gotten to thinking they are a real Financial Institution! I have had 3 loans…read moreand paid off on time, also have been with this CU for over 15 years, and gave great credit. a bank teller over the phone declined a new used car loan. Im not ill because they turned me down as I have great credit and had other Financial institutions offer loans which I've gone with and gotten a better rate and was approved without the blink of an eye. The issue is that this cu has lost all respect for long term customers, they feel they are a federal bank now or something. The service is less than acceptable, and I am done referring customers to Affinity. The moral of this review is that if you want a free checking account with no additional services, its ok... but if you want services that a real Financial institution offers, go somewhere else. If you want professional decisions that only a bank teller can do, this is your perfect set up, but why not just use an online bank with no human contact? It would be a better experience.

I had been depositing money for years into a savings account. My first time in person in their lobby would be my last as a customer or in credit Union speak " a member." I'm sure the employee who was rude, entitled and wrong has been working their forever Here is a great lesson in customer service, don't judge a book by its cover. I might have been in shorts and sandals, but I know banking regulations. News flash-telling someone something is not "allowed" is a lot different than something that a company policy doesn't support. Instead of being argumentative and focused on being right isn't customer service. There is a big vast world of banking and finance outside this tellers micro-universe. Perhaps the credit union should offer continuing education for these old relics minding the window? At least teach them customer service 101 in that members come before their fragile ego. In fairness, this was one person but it cost them a closed account which was shut down on the spot and future business which would have eventually included moving additional assets as I prepare to retire and even a bridge loan as we plan to build a dream house. My family has been in the area since 1935. It should be noted that this is not the norm in customer service and mentality in the area. Quite the opposite !!!
