We never got confirmation from the banker that this promo was applied, even after multiple emails and calls. They never answer their phone, and when I call the 1800 number, they state I must contact the branch. I have been banking with Chase for 20 years and this is not what I expected from them. This has gotten to be a habit. of misplacing, losing or (one time) stolen debit cards. I'm always actually uplifted every single time I leave this place (BECU). In customer service relations my entire life, I'm big on customer service. I always ask if they have been trained in customer relations, and I always get "No" Clearly, people like or even love their job there, and are respected by management. One time while I was waiting for a free professional, the concierge was young lady who laid out a bunch of investment plans for me while I waited to be seen. I'm laughing because I have no money most of the time. I felt like I was loaded, trying to place all my money somewhere so I can make more. She knew this and said yeah, we can just start with 5 dollars here or there and get you rolling. She was very consistent, but not in a way of arrogance, where I was getting pushed and pulled in all directions in a full court press to get something from me, as if someone was looking for a commission. Not even close Like everyone there, she was perfect. Done with care, true care where she didn't let go, but I felt free to say anything (professional). and I actually got interested as I was getting educated. I know what excellent customer service is, and in today's businesses, customer relations appear to be a lost art. AN after thought, maybe 3rd most important The air on the back of my neck stands up, when I'm not treated in a well, or even if some else is not being treated respectfully. Countless times I was reminded They are the onesith that sign your paychecks. I don't complain anymore, I just make sure that I compliment the person that has been professional with High standards. Many times, I'll track down a supervisor and rain on about how excellent a waiter is, or a cashier, that always has the best attitude with us whining about prices or whatever Hence, why I'm writing this tonight, as the young man with longer blond hair, was so kind with me. Smiles. putting me at ease, making sure that I was comfortable. Later that evening, had to go back and get my cane that I forgot. The Kid cleaning the glass and the ATM's, said, "Oh yeah, wait right here" He walked in the back, and was eager to get this back to me before they closed. Another smile, "Here you go sir" All of this stuff can seem really small? I feel it a little writing this. But it is not, it is HUGE! The greatest businesses treat their customers in the same way. I just like it, because I'm uplifted from this because I, and most people in this small spinning rock of a world we live in, could use a lot more of these types of exchanges. Regardless, located approximately at 183rd & Aurora in Shoreline. Anyways, I received a letter in the mail yesterday and wanted to get it checked out for authenticity with an actual BECU staff member. With all fraudulent schemes going on, one has to be extra cautious. However, I was wary about what kind of service I would receive after reading most of the posted Yelp reviews which were all across the board. I ran two errands prior and arrived at the BECU Financial Center - Shoreline at 0917. Checked in (had no prior appointment), barely sat down in the reception area, and was greeted by Esmeralda V to assist me. I explained my specific concerns and after proving my identity with my driver's license and answering her questions, she got down to business. The information provided was timely, clear, and thorough. I signed/dated appropriate documents to get this situation taken care of which was greatly appreciated. I'm glad I didn't just dismiss and shredded this letter or get frustrated stuck on hold phoning in. By showing up onsite gave me the information and peace of mind needed. Esmeralda V, Member Consultant II was very professional and provided excellent customer service. I also thanked the gentleman who was handling reception at the front of the office. I was done by 0935 - under 20 minutes! I'm not a BECU member, but greatly appreciated their customer service and getting my concerns addressed. Thank you!

When I saw the charge on my first statement and contacted support, they pointed me to the fine print in the cardmember agreement and refused any refund. I escalated to the CFPB, the Federal Reserve, and California's DFPI over the next year. Every agency either closed the case or passed it to another. Seen's position throughout was essentially: the fee is in the agreement, end of story. No goodwill. No acknowledgment that their marketing caused genuine confusion. No courtesy refund after a year of complaints from a customer who barely used the card. If you're considering this card, read every document very carefully before applying. Their customer service will not help you if something goes wrong.
