I really like the location, especially with all the ramp closures and the "park over the highway" thing coming. They do have garage parking on the 4th St. side, but you have to fight cabbies for most of the street spots. They have security guards inside and out all day. I happened to be parked out front one day last summer when a rolling gun fight down Broadway ended up as a car accident on Pine. As soon as I heard the first gunshot, the guard ran to the front door and yelled for them to "lock it down!" just as a car went airborne and took out the crossing signal at Pine. Very quick response and they kept the doors locked a good deal of time until the scene was secured. The building also has pretty nice restrooms in the lobby by the elevators.

After I walked in the lobby, I was directed to a someone to open a new account. "Good afternoon. Do you have a few minutes to help me", I said. She did not even acknowledge me or my greeting. I handed over my drivers license, because I was pretty sure that was what was next. I was asked what my occupation was. "Do you really need that". It was an honest question, since I was just laid off. "Yes". "Ok, unemployed". "How did you hear about us", I was asked. "Well, I have a potential client, an they ask that I transact in Zelle. I saw your bank does that." She said "Well, any bank can do that". I used to work in the financial industry, and I didn't think that was true, but I could be mistaken (acutally, she was wrong). Did it matter, though? I was told "We are pretty much for business customers". I do not have thin skin, but I cannot remember being so insulted since I was probably in college. I took back my divers license, and said, "I do not think that this will be worth the hassle" Not a parting word was said to me. Thanks, St. Louis Bank for making me feeling think like 3rd class citizen. You will never get my business. jf
