There is a person located near the front entrance that can direct you where you need to go if you let them know what you are after. Staff, everywhere I encountered them, were friendly and helpful. The person I needed to see was actually out, but they gave me a business card and let me know when she would be available - and recommended that I call so that I could make sure she was there. At the end of the day, I actually found out what I needed w/o needing help. But, it's nice to know that these guys are here - friendly - and available to help should I need something.

With that said, we walked in at 130ish after waiting at the Pell city one the majority of the day, to which they turned us away. The deputy recommended the Jacksonville office and off we went. The clerk was about to turn us away and I was like maam, we just drove 70ish miles to be here, and the deputy was the one that told us.... This lady had pity on the situation and gave me a number. That's heart. Alternatively ALEA is 20+ years behind the times and needs to be demolished.

As a child, my Momma used to take all of us children to visit Noccalula Falls Park!…read moreI remember enjoying how lovely Noccalula Falls was and being wide-eyed in interest of the story of the "Legend of Noccalula" who was lined up by an elder chief for a prearranged wedding when her heart belonged to another young brave from her own tribe. Overcome with grief, she lept into the falls, ending her life. It's a sad, tragic story! These days, there is also a petting zoo at Noccalula Park, which was not there when I was growing up. We never camped at Noccalula that I recall; however, they do offer a campground, cabins, and rental facilities. Gadsden offers other attractions and events like First Friday mentioned by Yelp friend Clifford H., and they have a Center for Cultural Arts, Coosa Landing Marina, a Robert Trent Jones Golf Course (Silver Lakes) and Twin Bridges Golf Club. Do give Gadsden a visit! If you have the change, hike down to the base of Noccalula Falls! It's a pretty park!
