Calling Ninde a "community" is a bit of a stretch. This post office is the only business in the unincorporated community. It's more like a minuscule neighborhood. Population:0. This small shed sized P.O. Packs a punch though. The services include mailings, shipping, decorative mailing supplies, P.O. Boxes, stamps, drive by mail drop, and even passports (which is unusual for such a diminutive post office but call to verify since this may have changed recently 540-775-0981.) The hours are M-F 12-4, Sat. 12:30-4. We came here on a Saturday afternoon and it was closed. I dig this cute old fashioned post office with its antique army green mailbox on the side! Worth a gander. Next time I visit, I'm going to investigate the origin of the name Ninde!!

My mom is handicap and has a mailbox placed on the ramp. If the staff do not know you your mail is returned. If they need more staff then the manger needs to lobby the council and the Mayor of Colonial Beach to get ample staff that can be "not lazy" meaning sit inside the mail van to put mail inside ground mounted mailboxes vs. sending a homeowners mail back to the sender or simply walking up to a mailbox. We pay taxes to be able to receive basic services including mail, water and electricity. The mailboxes lined up like a communist county is unreal and unacceptable. Changes need to be made by this USPS location. Handicap persons should be able to get mail. Mostly seniors live in Colonial Beach. Those who have summer homes should not be PENALIZED, by their mail being returned to senders.

Although this brick building is rather plain and is designed like a simple, large rectangle, it has a nice well kept parking lot and inside it's tidy. One service not frequently found in these smaller town post offices is passport service, but Colonial Beach post office offers it! Pretty cool! It's on a corner so there's one entrance and one exit, with a drop mailbox at the exit point. The counter was pretty well stocked. All in all a nice, average post office, but nothing to "write home" about. I've always had pleasant, reliable service here. The staff is friendly and helpful. It has been to the person who sent me the package twice. What kind of operation is this? Why is USPS not stepping in? they are lucky they still have their jobs. It showed that my package was at the post office available for pick up one of the days, so I went over there, and the gentleman who is supposedly the supervisor said it was NOT there. Said it would probably be delivered to me tomorrow. the next day, nothing arrived. And then it was going back to DC again. if I could send you a picture of all of the tracking information, you guys would not believe it. There are at least 15 lines of where this package has been to. I didn't have everything together as it should be but she was more than helpful and had a wonderful attitude. Overall the customer service was above and beyond and I was really pleased because it definitely was not the normal post office experience I've had in the past.
