Don't miss visiting this place, this is a small Check Republic in Poland. The food is great, as well as the beer. Portions are huge, enormously huge, so we asked for a box. Also, you get a small shot of liquor free of charge. The place is big, but you get your dish pretty quick. However, it would take a lot of time to get the waiter's attention.

I really wanted to have traditional Polish food while visiting and this place did not disappoint! Although my table and I only spoke English we were taken care of really well. The pierogis were the best I've ever day and I highly recommend the Sur Schnitzel. The huge schnitzel is TOO large, and the sur was great quality. Bread was served prior to the meal and we were given sherry shots as gift after the meal. It was very sweet of the staff. I will visit again.

This was the first place we stopped in our layover in Warsaw en route to Budapest. We wanted to get some food from the region and this place did not disappoint. Our Airbnb host recommended it for it's good prices a d delicious food. Service: The service here was nice, it can be a bit difficult considering how different waiters are in Warsaw compared to the US. It out staff was understanding of our slight confusion trying to order. Ambiance: The place looks like a medium sized local diner. We sat in the patio portion that is still technically inside. When we arrived it was packed and definitely seemed like a lively place to get some good food at. Food: The food was spectacular. I ordered this sour onionand sausage soup(can't recall the name) which was incredibly delicious and snichtzel. The snichtzel was huge so I ended up splitting it with a friend. Also our waiter treated us to complimentary cherry flavored vodka shots which was a nice treat after dinner. Price: The price here was relatively cheap considering the USD-PLN conversion rate. Three people ate appetizers(each) and entrees for only about $32. Highly recommend you check this place out if travelling through the area.

Huge portions and comfort food - pork knuckle, schnitzel, ribs all of course with potatoes and cabbage and beer. The place is big and there was a wait to get in. The server was very nice too and spoke english. The place was packed and she got around to everyone pretty well and was more friendly that most servers in Warsaw. We had the ribs with honey nut sauce (YUM!) and baked duck with apples. The duck was half a duck plus 3 sides. It was huge and one meal was enough to split!! The portions were worth the money but the food was not so special that I would plan my next trip around coming back. The place is crammed with tables (seriously there is a meter wide table between the wall and the stair case in a dark corner) where we were seated first. I dont normally refuse tables but it was really crammed and I was happy to wait for another table. The host had one for us a few minutes later - that was alone next to the toilets. Since it is a pub that serves lots of beer we could smell the urinals. So we just asked a server if we could have a free table that got up from there. From there smooth sailing. It is pretty loud and a bit rambunctious (have I mentioned the beer?) but an ok time.

Huge ass schnitzel (24 zloty) with a generous helping of fries. Schnitzel is a little on the oily side but the taste is worth it. 2 soups + 1 Schnitzel was just right for the two of us. I'm a small eater though Tasty salty meat spread for their whole grain and white bread appetizer. This complimentary dish is my favourite! Lovely looking 14% dessert shots to round off your meal. Served in teeny wine glasses. Freaking sweet. Complimentary tho so I'm not complaining

Good place. The knuckle is pretty good, especially with the beer. We sit outside and it was pretty romantic. Will come again, since it's right across from where we live.

When you have lazed most of your Sunday in the warmth of your home and you step out into the cold for a dinner alone, you would hope that it's worth the effort. U Szwejka, a Polish/Czech restaurant right in the hub of the Politeknika square - totally nailed it. Walking past the eatery you can't help notice how lively this place was. Chatting students - loads of them, music from the medieval ages with a bagpiper note - I could let mind forget a few things! After I occupied a silent corner table by the staircase, I ordered a Grilled chicken breast gratinated with cheese with roasted potatoes and Bavarian sauerkraut. I didn't know that I was so hungry given that I totally devoured the complementary bread and with the cheese and sausage portions. After the first bite they were too good to be left aside. Waiting for the food I couldn't help notice the uniform of the main stewards who were almost dressed like doctors - with a white coat. While the menu said hot dishes will take 20mins, mine came in 5. The chicken was succinct, and brilliantly grilled. The roasted potatoes and cheese were perfect. The cabbage base was slightly sour for my palate but it was okay. I almost licked the plate clean within a few minutes. The big decision point was a drink or a dessert, and went with the dessert. My choice was Apple cake with vanilla ice. I think the dessert took more time than the main course but it was completely worth the wait. Unlike some over sweet desserts it left you just wanting for a little more. The price for the food was fairly decent as well.

Do you want a huge Wiener schnitzel for dinner? Then, this is the right place!! Of course, it is served with French fries and salad. Every Monday for just 14,90 pln (aprox 3,90€!) Nice and big restaurant where you can eat as much meet as you want for a great price. They have specials offers everyday of the week, so I dare you to try all of them!

We have been in Warsaw for 6 months and have driven and walked past this place numerous times, we finally decided to stop in and see why its so busy all the time. I suspect it is busy because of the giant beers that they serve here because the food is quite average. I ordered the pork ribs, they had decent flavor and the meat came of the bones easy enough but they were pretty dry. My wife ordered the Golonka, pork knuckle, it was huge and could have fed us both, the meat was tasty and cooked well and the leftovers made a great omelette the next morning. Although we didn't have any big complaints we have enjoyed much better Golonka and ribs in Warsaw so based on this I give 3 stars.

Big portions, good food and a very reasonable price. A row before the entrance: and it's worth waiting! Flinke porties, eerlijke gerechten voor heel redelijke prijzen. De rij voor de ingang zegt genoeg!

Schnitzel, a potato roesti with different sauces/goulash incl salads and fries. Also pictured is the complimentary bread.

Great bang for your buck. The schnitzel was extremely thin, to the point of almost being too thin but boy was it large and delicious, no sauce required though the lemon just added that extra umphf. The roesti smothered in a couple different sauces/goulash was also delicious though the actual potato pancake could have been salted and spiced just a kick more. Overall friendly quick cheap huge and solid meal.

Last year, I was in Poland celebrating my birthday. One of my best friends from Poland took me here with another close friend because she assured me i was a great place to celebrate my birthday dinner. We sat on their patio and received very friendly service. I ordered the roasted duck with apples, hot beets and bread dumplings. Wow, what portion sizes!! I think all three of us could have eaten from this one plate. The food was good, but it was definitely quantity rather than quality. For dessert, they surprised me with a piece of szarlotka, a version of an apple pie with vanilla ice cream that was really a sweet way to end the evening. Overall, a nice fun place to have dinner.

It was ok. Schnitzel was really dry and lacking in flavor. And DO NOT ask for separate checks.

The dim-lit ambiance, the dark wood accents and white tablecloth gives that formal yet cozy environment and with that, comes an exquisite menu that will leave you with a very pleasant and memorable experience. Reservations are highly recommended which I did have so check-in was a breeze. The waitress was very knowledgeable with the wine list and menu items which was extremely helpful when deciding among the various delicious sounding items on the menu. I heard that the Steak Tartare is a must here so I ordered that and to my delight, it's the best steak tartare I've had in all of Poland. It's prepared table-side from a very charismatic chef which added to the excitement and enjoyment of trying this tasty item. The Beef Wellington was also a delight. The buttery and slightly crisp puff pastry melts in your mouth along NG with the tender and juicy beef in which the demi-glace adds additional flavor to the already mouth-watering profile. Just pure gloriousness. The Bluefin Tuna was the final item I tried and the tender, fresh and scrumptious flavor of the tuna paired with the black truffle, avocado, artichoke and teriyaki sauce...so good. I unfortunately did not have enough room for dessert but wow I watched the items pass by me landing at other tables and I was so wanting to try one of them but not one single bite more of anything could've fit in my stomach. That's why there's always a next time :)

Our server was very nice, and the ambiance is great- white tablecloth and dim lighting really sets the tone. For our meal we had the beef Wellington, steak, pork rib, asparagus, fries, and mashed potatoes. All of which were delicious! The beef Wellington stood out as the favorite- it was beautifully prepared. My only comment on the meal is the avocado sauce under the ribs was surprisingly sweet, not my taste but the meat was tender and juicy. Overall, this has been the best meal we have had on our visit here to Warsaw. Highly recommend!
