Avoid this club at all costs. We first spent €168 for a table and a bottle of vodka, only to get thrown out 40 minutes later. My phone was still in the club and i was leaving the country the next day, but the bouncers refused me to go back and get it, and proceeded to push me and hit my friend. Ended up going back to my country without my phone.. read more

This disco and club has been famous for decades and has been refurbished a few years ago. Still it is full of students and teenagers on a Tuesday night and on weekends and there are huge queues waiting to be let it. During the week they also have other events, but the themed club nights are definitely the best. read more

U4 is probably the most overrated club I have ever been to. Most places I have been to in Vienna do not charge cover. U4 charged 10 euro cover on a normal Tuesday night. With such a steep price just to get through the door, I had pretty high expectations for a fun night with good drinks. Drink prices were pretty awful, and the bartenders were super stingy on the alcohol in your drink. I ordered two shots of tequila, and I received about a half shot in each. I then ordered a mixed drink which tasted like fruit juice and probably had the same amount of alcohol. Not to mention, this is after you're lucky enough to get a bartender to look at you. I watched a group order three rounds of shots before a pretty frustrated bartender grabbed my money and asked what I wanted, as if my money is worthless and I don't deserve to be there. Sections of the club were randomly blocked off, and if you wandered to these parts of the bar you were promptly removed. I continuously checked and these parts were never used. There was not a single friendly worker there. The best part: a friend of mine was blackmailed into paying 100 euro in order to avoid an altercation with the police. He was falsely accused of stealing missing alcohol, they grabbed him just by picking someone out of the bunch. After man handling him through the bar to take him outside, they told him he could pay 100 euro or he would have to deal with the police. He did not steal anything, and there was no reasoning for their actions. If you're in Vienna, you can do much better. I recommend considering a night in by yourself with Netflix before going to this bar. Unless of course you love rude bartenders, cover, and blackmail. read more

Established in 1980.

In the early 80ies U4 was the meeting point of Austria's underground music szene. Artists and bands like Nirvana, Prince, Grace Jones, Courtney Love, Marilyn Manson, die Ärzte and many, many more had legendary Gigs on the U4 stage. Also Austria's most important musican of the late century Falco started his amazing career in U4 and was always one of its best patrons. After more than 30 years U4 is still Viennas best place to spend an exciting night with all kind of different people an different music every day.

It's in a very busy tourist area, and a lot of people were out and about late at night, so I felt very safe walking around here. Service is AMAZING. They let me in free of charge, telling me there was no cover charge tonight. The bartender was so sweet to me, she got me a glass of Green Fairy absinthe, and let me take a photo of the bottle. A guy approached me and asked me if he could get me a drink, which was very nice of him. He first asked in German, and when I told him I speak English, he switched to English. I politely declined, telling him I already had a drink. I had SO MUCH fun dancing too goth music (quite a handful of VNV), and especially enjoyed a remix of The Cure's "Love Song," a remix of Depeche Mode's "Enjoy the Silence," and a remix of NIN's "Head Like a Whole." Danced my way to my Fitbit calorie goal of 2100 before I headed back to my hotel room to rest up for another day of exploring Vienna!

The bartender was really friendly and was a good source of information for the city. The 2nd time I stopped by was on a Monday night. For a Monday night it had a pretty good crowd there. Of course they were mostly very young. After a few beers I took off as I felt a bit old for the crowd there. I can see this place being very popular for someone in the right age group.

Worst experience. We wanted to go on a Tuesday night, the website listed it as a student night. Since we were visiting from USA we wanted to make sure we could attend. Messaged the Facebook group and they stated "Everybody is welcome". We thought ok, lets check this place out. Get there and the bouncer takes one look at us and says "do you have a member card? Members only" I said no we don't and showed him the message sent by their group. He then has the audacity to say "I don't know who that is. You can't get in" THIS MESSAGE WAS FROM THEIR OWN GROUP! then we went to the booth next to the entrance which was initially consulting people. The lady there was super nice, apologized, told us all we have to do is pay 10 euros at the inside kiosk to get in. She even offered us a free welcome shot. Okay fine. Got back in line. Come up to the same bouncer, he give us this look of disgust. We tell him that the lady at the desk said we just need to pay 10 euros to get in. He goes "who?" I point to the woman sitting at the desk sitting literally 10 feet away and he says "I DON'T KNOW WHO THAT IS" WHAT THE HELL?? SHE WORKS FOR THE CLUB!!! As if we didn't get it by that point he says "you can't get in" and waves for us to move away. I'm furious. The lady at that point had nothing to say for herself. THIS PLACE IS RUN BY RACIST BOUNCERS. We observed the situation a bit from the side and there were a number of individuals WHO WERE LOCALS who got sent away because they were not WHITE. SCREW THIS PLACE. DO NOT GO. I WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND THIS PLACE TO ANYONE. If you're white and looking for a place to party Tuesday night go ahead, if you're any other race find another place to go. Such a shame. I've been having such a great experience with friendly ppl in Vienna and this racist a**hole just had to ruin it. read more

So I have neither received a freebee nor am I connected to any of the employees. The bouncers were very nice to me even though I strongly voiced my opinion on their boss - apparently he was the one at the register to collect entrance fee. I will give the bouncers a 10/10 - they were very helpful and forthcoming. I will however recommend that they get a job at a different bar with less assholes being in charge. Needless to say, I have made a bad experience with an approximately 70y.o. guy in charge who was an absolute cunt. I try to be as much lenient as I can to not be breaking the guidelines here, otherwise this would be much more "colorful". If you want to pay an entrance fee for literally zero value for your money, go ahead. You can find a bar at any other place where they will actually welcome and appreciate you (and your money). These guys were just dicks. We wanted to wait for our friends who went to an ATM to get money to pay the entrance fee. You would think they'd give you a stamp since you already paid. Nope. They expect you to pay an entrance fee for ONE WAY where there isn't even live music. I employ you to PLEASE boycott this club. Inside it wasn't all that bad but in no way should you ever pay an entrance fee for listening to CD tracks and paying a buttload of money for a drink. U4 is just overhyped and a rip off in my honest opinion. read more

Kann mich meinen Vorredner nicht ganz anschließen. U4 ist zwar nicht mehr so kultig wie wahrscheinlich vor 20 Jahren, aber grad für junge Leute gibt's dort zB. DIE PARTY Wiens. Der Tuesday4Club am - erraten! - Dienstag ist für alle im Studentenalter DER Pflichttermin. Ich hab noch nie so ausgelassene und schräge Feste gefeiert wie beim Tuesday4Club. Es ist halt wirklich eine Party. Hier wird kaum cool im Eck gestanden sondern gefeiert, was das Zeug hält.. Publikum ist sehr gemischt, vor allem Studenten. Offenbar kommt hier jeder rein, egal wie gestyled oder eben nicht. Und das macht dann die ganz besondere Stimmung. Ausserdem gibt's 2 floors, im großen Raum läuft es recht mainstreamig aber gut tanzbar ab, im kleineren Raum gibt's HipHop vom feinsten. So legt dort zB öfters g-dugz http://www.g-dugz.com/ auf, einer meiner absoluten favorites. Das U4 ist einer der wenigen Clubs in Wien, die sich auch wirklich an die aktuelle Raucherregelung halten. Das bedeutet: Großer Raum ist rauchfrei, das wird wirklich scharf kontrolliert, kleiner Raum dafür dann so verraucht, daß man nach eine paar Stunden auch als Nichtraucher einen Husten bekommt wie einst der selige Marlboro-Man... Dienstags, Freitags und Samstags einfach eine perfekte Partylocation. Ja, alles reden von früher war es anders und besser. Heute ist es einfach anders und moderner und mir gefällt es. Wenn ich so Bilder von früher sehe, dann bin ich froh, dass es nicht mehr so ist wie früher. Stilvoller und tolles Publikum. Im Gegensatz zu anderen Clubs wird man als Frau auch nicht ständig begrapscht und die Getränke sind auch gut. Leider muss man an manchen Tagen sehr lange anstehen, aber das spricht wohl auch für sich :) read more

U4 ein Klassiker in Wien, den jede/r mal besucht haben sollte es bietet tageweise für jeden Geschmack etwas. Sollte man sich von dem Eintrittspreis von 10EUR nicht abschrecken gelassen haben, empfiehlt es sich luftige Kleidung zu tragen, da es unten zu späterer Stunde echt heiß wird und man sonst zu viele der voll und ganz überteuerten Getränke konsumieren muss. Das U4 ist eine Legende! Und das zu recht. Auch heute noch muss man einfach in diesem Club gewesen sein. Wo Falco aufgetreten ist, muss man einfach das Tanzbein schwingen :-) Vor allem Dienstag kann ich sehr empfehlen! Das Publikum ist natürlich großteils recht jung. Aber die Durchmischen ist trotzdem gegeben. read more
