The first 3 or 4 times I went in for appointments I was seen by Dr. Burrows. Since then I see his PA's most of the time. They are very knowledgeable and personable. I know if I really want to, I can make an appointment to see Dr. Burrows but I don't really see the need to unless I really think I have something crazy going on. The office staff is kind and personable. I get colds/flu often. When I need to go in and have it checked out, if I call when they open they can fit me in that day. It's fantastic! They either make space for you to visit or they purposely leave some appointments available open for patients like me. They call when it is time to schedule my preventative care/wellness visits. For someone like me, I forget unless they remind me. They also call and send text messages to confirm appointments.

Today, July 30 I receive a call canceling appointment because Dr. Burrows no longer accepts Devoted Health, a Medicare Advantage plan. Dr. Ridgley's office billed my secondary insurance instead of my primary, even though I had been going there for years, with the same insurance. They also billed the incorrect codes. As well, they sent me a text reminder to the incorrect office which was 30 minutes away from where I was supposed to go. The doctor I saw last week, Dr. Peters, did not check my abdomen for swelling or a mass after I made a same day appointment for abdominal pain. He prescribed over the counter antacids, even though I explained to him my mother had passed due to an undiagnosed abdominal mass. I would no longer recommend this office.

We emailed the form at 9:30 a.m. and politely asked if it could be returned by 2:00 p.m. Understanding that offices are busy, we felt 5.5 hours for a simple signature was reasonable. After receiving no response, we called multiple times to confirm the email was received. Four calls later, including being placed on hold twice until the calls disconnected, we still had no answer. We ultimately drove the form to the office in person. My wife then waited 45 minutes in the lobby, during which only one patient checked in, and we still did not receive the signature. We understand that medical offices are busy, but responsiveness and basic communication matter -- especially when it involves kids and time-sensitive school or sports requirements. Unfortunately, this experience has led us to look for a new pediatrician for our three children. I would encourage others to consider the importance of communication and responsiveness when choosing a provider.
