California... you'll always be an icon of growth, struggle, determination, overcoming; my personal…read moredefinition of perseverance. Between the three SoCal counties closest to beaches: Riverside, Orange, and Los Angeles - Riverside was the most affordable. Thought out decisions have brought me to leave CA all in all. When we moved from the expensive bay area, I chose to live in Riverside cuz I fell in love with all the palm trees. I was infatuated with downtown's Festival of Lights during the winter holidays - went to see it every year. Loved the cozy feeling of having hot chocolate champorrado on a chilly evening. Found it cool to tell family that 'we live in the Inland Empire.' Thing is most my life in SoCal was spent in the OC for work. But I was able to find moments of discovery when I was home in Riverside. My favorite is Mount Rubidoux. Who knew serenity existed a few blocks away from downtown, busy freeway, a University campus, and nightlife? Riverside has some well knowns! Fox Theater, Monster energy drink warehouse, Kaiser hospital, historical orange groves. Then Corona... circle city as it's called. On a map the main streets are shaped like a sun with Grand as the "crown" and streets branch out from it. Reminds me of how children used to draw a sun on a piece of paper. Mountain views, alluring sunrises and sunsets. Atop a hill on a clear evening, sights of spectacular city lights. Just taking these little big things all in - city of Corona is deserving of its name. If you decide to visit Riverside County, I recommend you stay at the Marriott in downtown Riverside. I had done so when I was out here for job interviews. Marriott beds are like clouds. And they carry an aromatherapy line for their bathroom products. In Riverside, you'll find many things to do, including visiting museums and historical sights, a drive to Morongo Casino less than an hour away - next to the Cabazon Outlets, a drive to Santa Monica within an hour; close enough to Disneyland and Knott's Berry Farm. It's not a 24 hour area, but I'll say it's just right. Welcome to the Inland Empire!

You call. No one answers the phones…read more You leave voicemails. No reply. You leave many voicemails with many different people. MANY no replies. What?!! Only way to get any service is to go there in person.... and wait... and wait... and wait. Oh, bonus is you get to go through a security check run by rent-a-cops who think they are the secret service or something. County employees must have ultimate job security and can't get fired. They must not care about customer feedback. This is where our taxes go to. Pathetic.

I just want to Thank LISA HALL!!! I have had Case Workers that have helped me, but not like Lisa…read moreHall, she was so kind enough to help my son's father and myself take care of our case. I had a previous worker Mr. Ramos that did not help me at all, I felt like he was against me instead of working with me he was just a horrible worker that Not only did he give me Anxiety, & Depression making me feel that didn't care for my son and made me cry. Lisa Hall was then assigned to our case and she took the time to listen and explained all of our options in making our case so much easier. I was Blessed to have her as my Case Worker due to she answered All my questions right away, she didn't judge me in any way possible. She helped us so quick we never thought it would be so fast. I wish all Case Workers would be just like Lisa Hall with dedication to their job. THANKS A MIIIIIILLION LISA HALL you were the Best!! Now I can sleep at night with no worries.

This review is for DCSS in Hemet in response to a father's interactions…read more It is a hit and miss with these people. My boyfriend currently is paying child support on a case where income was not reported that he had paid. His worker is very rude, abrupt and seemingly gender bias. When you come in to these situations, you are probably already frustrated, and having someone who is abrasive makes it that much worse. If you need to talk with them, I would recommend calling with general questions, and if you absolutely need to talk to the worker, then get a hold of them. They told me there was a form on the website to authorize me to work on his account, but I have yet to find it. Soon we will go in to modify child support, I might amend my review again later.

seeing many of other UC campuses, I would say this one I would rank at top tier. Every UC has…read moresimilar issues, Upper class students get priority in class selection etc. Then dorm selection, first come first serve but then there are exceptions and priorities so it is what it is in those situations. Campus impressions overall, lots of construction going on, seems they are ramping up and heard they are expanding their programs which is why there is such much everywhere. The campus is beautiful, well maintained and vibe is just really nice can't explain it. At first seems like huge campus but when you walk and walk you realize it is manageable and the 10k steps seem like nothing, there is adequate on campus dining not over abundant but ok, and it gets very busy at times just eat at odd hours then it won't be busy right? There seems to be problem with theft, like bikes, scooters, etc. It's open campus no gates or anything so not sure how that can be solved. The Gym is probably the best in all the UC schools, it's fairly newly built across multiple levels and only thing missing is a bungee jumping, yes, it's that well equipped, better than some gyms you see out in the real world TBD. you can purchase reasonable guest passes by being a guest of a student. Parking can get a little confusing, wish they have more clear directions especially for guests, you end up parking and hoping you don't get a ticket. or you can find street parking far from the campus and walk there or park at the nearby park.

There was plenty to eat and drink around campus (including a coffee bean on campus). The clock tower was really neat. The students and everyobe around campus were all very friendly.
