Unfortunately I came here only to find this location is no longer a TSA enrollment center. It is however a cute little cafe!

I made an appointment for a TSA Pre Check and of course my husband wanted in on it too. We made appointments during our lunch period, but they are closed from 12 pm to 1 pm so keep that in mind. We got there and stood outside, not realizing there's a waiting area inside. We opened the door and we were seen right away, one at a time. The process was this: -They call you in, if you made an appointment, you get priority over walk-ins -They ask for your ID and how you're going to pay -Ask you to confirm your address and your information -Finger printing And you're done in 10 minutes or less. They'll send you a form in the mail with your number. This will speed up our time in the security line. The issue I have with this place is that it's located in this worn out building and parking is a nightmare. The parking spots are slanted and there's reserved parking for each business in this building. Plan accordingly and arrive early. read more

I have only written one other bad review. The process was efficient but the customer service was both passive aggressive and openly hostile. No one was at reception when I arrived 1/2 hour early, so I took a seat and later was scolded for that - like I was supposed to be a mind reader and stand at the window for 1/2 hour. Everything I did was "wrong" and the condescension was thick in there. This gentleman was clearly frustrated with his job and likely would like to be doing something else, so it seemed important to him to project on the customer that they are mentally inferior. I know that I am not, however, so it rolled off me. Others might take his hostility and it could ruin their day. That is why I am writing this. I am a person who does new things all the time and follows instructions reasonably well - I have a Masters degree and have a professional career. I have almost never been treated so poorly regarding complying with instructions. If you need to get your pre-tsa done this will do the job, but I recommend that you come in with a sense of humor about how poorly you may be treated and cleanse yourself upon leaving. Super easy, but make sure to follow these tips! Coming from the west, the building # is kinda hidden by some trees. The initial driveway is narrow and goes up, so look for that. The # is above it you'll miss if you drive too fast. It's a one-way lot and guest parking is on a steep angled hill on the right side after you circle the entire building (to the point where you're almost leaving). Office is on the ground floor, walk right through the garage. Show up early if you don't have an appointment and they'll fit you in. Credit cards only! Make an appointment - for reals. It's gonna take up to 30 days to get your credentials after applying so really, you're in no rush. If you get there without an appointment you could add hours to your day (on top of the up to a month's waiting time) and really, you're there to get a document that requires you to wait less in lines. Ironic? Sure. Appointment. Just sayin. I made an appointment for 8:30 this AM and walked out of there complete at 8:45. It wasn't a friendly or delightful experience, but rather dry and efficient. Which is fine, I'm not looking for a hug at TSA pre-check. The point is to leave my shoes on and have strangers touch me less, ya dig? The process: Citizenship proving ID check, like a passport Confirmation of all your contact/identity details like Social Security #, address, date of birth. Fingerprinting Perhaps some basic questions. Then the background check which takes a few weeks. Check with your credit card company to see if they offer any sort of perk or points or account credit if you use it to purchase your pre-check (it's 85$) Mine did, so I got in and out of there, in 15 minutes, for something that will end up being free. The parking is a nightmare. It's behind a big brown building too - which is kinda hidden from the street and was tough to find. Well here's my take. We are going to be taking several trips via Airlines this year so wanted to get a Pre Check ASAP. The soonest appointment would have been a month and a half out so we filled out our applications on line and headed down for a walk-in and arrived at 12:45. We talked to a few people who had been waiting for 3+ hours before being seen. The staff began putting names on the list at 1:00 when they officially opened after their lunch break. We were advised that as people who had appointments came in they would be given priority. We soon noticed that each client's appointment was only taking about 10 minutes to complete. That gave us hope that we would for sure get in before they closed at 4:30. As it turned out the line before us was disappearing quickly so to our surprise we got out of there at 2:00. Perhaps getting there when we did rather than first thing in the morning during an apparent rush was good but I must say the staff was doing their job very efficiently. They were all pleasant to deal with. Other posts gave advice on how to find the office once you are going up the driveway but here are a few more tips. As you arrive at the back building grab a 1-hour parking spot if you can. We were told you can stay parked there as long as you need to but will be towed if you use a reserved spot. To get into the office, enter that back building from the left side looking up (east side) through the private parking garage entrance. Head to the back left corner to the office next to a small restaraunt . BTW, the restrooms are down the hallway past their office. Good luck and have patience. read more

Apologies in advance for the length, but the detail is the story. This is not a review on this location, or the process, it is what it is, but thought worth sharing my experience. I'm still not sure best option or best location, but ... With all the news footage of 3 hour waits in the security lines (and missed flights) at various airports such as Chicago, Atlanta, LA, etc. and the promise it'll only get worse this summer, I decided to finally apply for TSA Pre-Check. $85 for 5 years, figure it'll pay for itself in saved frustration and made flights by end of summer 2016. TSA website gives multiple options - process most on-line and visit one of the 3 San Diego processing centers for finger printing, make an online appointment at one of the 3 San Diego Processing Centers to expedite the application process, or show up at one of the centers as a walk-in and put your name on the list (appointments move to top of list). 3 San Diego Processing Centers - airport (no thanks, thinking has to be the busiest but I don't know), Mission Valley (Hmmm), Bonita (way out the way). Next avail online appointment for Mission Valley office is 5 weeks out. If processing online you still have to visit a Center. So my logic says walk-up is as good an option as anything, plus I'm travelling next week so MAYBE I'll complete the process and get to use it right away ! This is where logic gets trumped by irony. I show up at the Mission Valley office at 8:10 am (yes, should have been earlier but love that 5 South drive in the a.m.). After waiting 3 hours, I am finally seen and complete the application process. Will find out in 45 days (or less) if I get it. And yes I had to pay the $85. The ironic thing - spent 3 hours to apply for TSA Pre-Check in order to avoid waiting in 3 hour lines at airport. More irony - They know people will be waiting in the "lobby", so they have a rather old TV with a DVR playing a movie. The movie continues to loop, in other words when it completes it re-starts automatically. Being there for 3 hours I got to watch the move nearly 2 times. The movie - GroundHog Day (Bill Murray). I don't have a recommendation on most expeditious way to do this, perhaps I chose the worse route. But should you choose my route, bring a book ! read more

If you're considering getting Pre-TSA precheck and are on the fence about it, just do it. Here's the math... valid for 5 years or 60 months and it costs $85, 85/60= $1.42/per mo. If you travel say once a month totally worth it. If you travel once a year it's 85/5= $17/per year. So ask yourself is it worth the price to "fastpass" security lines, don't have to take off shoes, jackets, jewelry, etc...? Now that you made up your mind to get your Pre-TSA precheck, GPS will take you only so far. It's just West and across the street of the late Todai restaurant off of Camino Del Rio South. Look for a big white concrete arch with the address on it. Once you go through the archway and up the big hill in the back, the lane splits right/left (take either lane) there are LOTS of Reserved 1 hour parking signs everywhere. Park and go up to the Lobby level (L), and the entrance is right next to the deli with a ton of signs on the door. Can't really miss it. Once you're there just check-in and wait for them to call you up. Since there wasn't anyone there, except for me I waited 5 minutes. The process was to verify your information, take finger prints, and process the $85 payment. Again, this is good for 5 years. The entire process took less than 10 minutes since I filled out everything online, which I highly recommend doing to save some time. Mind you, that my appointment was at 3 pm and no one was there when I got there are 2:30 pm. Overall, this was a quick and painless since no one was there. I HIGHLY recommend you make an appointment. Most appointments must be made at least one month out but you get called in at your exact appointment time and are in and out in less than 10 minutes. They do other things here aside from just TSA pre-check enrollment so the appointment just helps in case they have a long wait for walk-ins. I went today, a Monday, around noon and overheard an employee letting another customer know that the walk-in line wouldn't be long of a wait, only a few people ahead of them and the appointments are very efficient, 10 minutes each. Parking, as said in other reviews, is limited and the spots that say "Visitor" tend to be for some of the other companies in the building. Luckily I came a few minutes early to my appointment and was able to get a spot (one of 5 that are completely unmarked) on my 2nd trip around the lot. On my way out I did notice one of the 1 hour parking spots was open as well. You can enter the building from the front or the back but if you enter from the front you're on the Lower Lobby and need to take the elevator or stairs up one floor to the Main Lobby. Easy peasy. I made an appt online. Looked it up on google maps. Read the reviews and tips. All dead on. Entry is a two way hill up to the building. Parking is insane. 99% of the spots are RESERVED FOR (Name of company here). I wound around the building... and to the back of it, saw the entrance and kept going, was about to do another lap when I saw the last two spots on the right were one hour parking. Score! Parked. Walked uphill and around back and from there on everything was labeled as TSA. The office is a bit Cold War sparse... checked in and saw the 1999 TV playing Pirates of the Caribbean in the waiting area. Got called back by a nice woman who had me answer/confirm things on the online app, looked at my passport and took my fingerprints. I paid, credit cards only... and left. read more

As the building looks like it is under construction, parking is a little confusing and limited. When we first arrived, there was no receptionist. We rang the bell and stood awhile, realizing they seem to be understaffed. However, once our name was called the process was quick and easy. I went there to enroll. There really is no other office to go to, which is some monopolizing b.s. The lady that assisted me acted like a real jerk. She behaved as if she had any real authority over anything. They are there to prescreen you and enroll you~ they aren't the actual TSA. Enough with this rude, authoritarian bullsh*t. read more

Like others have said, you kinda have to carefully watch for the address number because it's on the narrow driveway wall. Parking was the biggest convoluted pain. Everything looks marked/reserved for one biz or another (including the parking structure under the offices) so I went around the bldg a bunch of times & finally just winged it and parked in a random marked space. I checked in, asked about parking and he told me to look for their parking spots in the back. I went and reparked. MIND YOU, They only appear to have 3 TIGHT spaces though they are directly across from the lobby entrance. Which, by the way is on the SOUTH side (closest to mountain side). The Northside is actually lower level and you will have to bumble to find the staircase and go up a level. This bldg I think, is old and getting a facelift... parking lot too. It's kind of "lipstick on a pig" from what I saw. Watch your step, I saw many oops to trip over stuff. Other then this... TSA precheck wait= 20 mins, (w/prebooked appt) and 5 mins MAX for the actual appt! Not bad! read more

Make sure you make an appointment for the TSA Pre. I did that and getting in and getting done was a breeze. Lady helping me was a tad gruff, but maybe she was having a bad day. Overall got it done, and now i have pre check for 5 years. If you are an upstanding citizen, this is worth the $85 bucks. read more

Ok so I applied for TSA pre-check and so did my husband. This was where they recommended we go to get fingerprinted to complete the screening. The drive there was easy but the driveway comes up quickly and you can easily miss it. Parking is pretty tough but it's straight up the driveway on the left. We had an 8:30am appointment walked in around 8:10am and signed in on the small sheet of paper. They immediately called both our names, fingerprinted us, and sent us on our way all within ten minutes or less. It was great and the people were pretty friendly. A week later I was approved for my precheck.. relatively easy process and the staff make it painless. I guess I kinda pictured it more like the DMV and turns out it is much more efficient. read more

Went in for TSA pre. There was plenty of parking. Office is located on Lobby level. Did a walk in and was taken right away! The people were very nice and I was out of there in less than 15 minutes. Highly recommend! read more

I had an appointment at 1:30 and showed up an hour early (I wrote down the wrong time) and was told the TSA people wouldn't be back until 1. I went to get something to eat next door-the girls are super friendly and the food was really good if you come and are waiting. I showed up at 12:55 and went to check in and was told they will be checking in people at 1, and then the women behind the counter sat and talked for the next 8 minutes ...apparently their clocks are set to the wrong time because my phone said it was past 1pm, and this job is a joke why couldn't they of taken the few people that were there a few minutes early? But because I had took the time to go online and fill things out and make an appointment, granted I showed up early but I got my stuff together more than the 3 random walking that went before me and they didn't see me until close to my appointment. :-/ I'm glad this is good for 5 years a because I wouldn't wanna deal with subpar customer service and people who aren't personable any more frequent than I have to. But really the deli made it worth it :-) read more

super friendly people working there. yes parking is stupid and there is like 4 spots that are not marked but i parked in one any ways. we did not have an appointment we got there at 8:10 and me and my wife both got seen and we was back in the car by 8:30. said it would take about a month to get a letter in the mail. read more

I arrived about 10 minutes early for my appointment. A very nice lady checked me in. About 13 minutes later, I heard someone yell my name from inside the office. About 30 seconds later a lady opened the door. She was holding a coffee cup in her hand and was holding the door opened. As I passed the threshold of the door she said "First door on the right". I reached over to hold the door open so she could let go of the door. My intention was to hold the door for her, so she could walk in front of me to the office. My "ladies first, please" idea immediatly earned me a scowl and a rather demeaning "FIRST DOOR ON THE RIGHT" and a motion with the coffee cup towards the door. Upon entering the electronics laden room, I was barked at with "State ID and passport!" I told her I didn't have a passport. She looked at me like I was trying to challenge her and said "Then a birth certificate!" I have her an original birth certificate that was issued from the US Military Hospital where I was born. So, really, it's a Federal government document. I was quickly chastized with "We don't take them from hospitals." as she handed it back to me. I started to read the document to her, as she clearly didn't read it, and wasn't interested in the fact that it was a signed and notarized federal document. I didn't understand why a federally issued document wasn't as good as a state document, and asked her where it said that. She said "I don't know where you have been reading". I said "Well, let's start with this" and showed her the email I printed out regarding my appointment. She found the part that said "state issued" and read that to me while handing the document back to me. Knowing I was obviously an inconvenience to her, I headed towards the door. She asked me what state I was born in , I told her, and left. This is exactly what happens when some people have what they think is a little bit of power. The TSA people that I have come into contact with have been 1000 times nicer than this lady. I don't think she works for the TSA, but her poor attitude and lack of caring sure gives them a black eye. read more

The process online was simple as was booking the appt ahead of time. When I arrived 10 mins early for my scheduled appt, the receptionist greeted me with a smile, made eye contact, and made me feel welcomed. This first impression was spot on with the sign you see that says, " Customer Service is our priority." What followed once I sat down at the desk to get "processed" was horrific! The woman pointed to the office I needed to entered, told me to "Sit", never made eye contact, had loud side bar conversations with someone in another office, was quite gruff and quick with me during the finger print process, which took several times because she was such in a rush,and to top it off, her script type response "Do you have any questions? When I said yes and asked a question Instead told me to look it up on line. So my experience at this office was bad. My advice to the Director... Have the receptionist provide this service who truly exemplifies the priority as your sign in the lobby indicates- read more
