Disappointed with the service from Nationwide Carrickfergus…read moreI was in the branch around 2 weeks ago and the staff were unable to help me and i was told the manager would ring me the following Tuesday but that is now 10 days ago and still no reply. I had a phone call from head office and I mentioned the issue and they emailed the branch to tell them to contact me, that was 5 days ago and still no reply. They seem really helpful when you want to give them business but not so helpful when you want to withdraw money. Our whole family circle have been with Nationwide for a lifetime, but seriously considering leaving. There are other banks in the town which seem a lot more helpful

I've always used the Natiowide, and I'm happy with the service they provide…read more This branch however, I've always found a bit awkward. As mentioned above, it's situated on a street where parking is prohibited. The next closest parking spaces are on Main Street (Good luck with that!) or on Lancasterian Street on the road beside St Nicholas' Church. You can cut through St Nicholas' cemetery (short walk) so this is probably the best bet. My main issue is their cheque clearing systems. Most banks have a cheque depositing system where you write your details on the back, stick the cheque in the slot, and away you go. Not the case in here. You have to stand and queue, and the queue is SLOW! They only ever have two staff on the counters and it takes forever. It also takes them 5-7 working days to clear a cheque which is not good. I give them extra points for the staff though. The last time I was in, my partner and I were setting up a joint account and the girl we dealt with was really friendly and helpful.
