I came into Ulta yesterday and was expecting at least a greeting, but sadly didn't receive one which is disappointing, especially because it's not the first time it's happened. I really hope customer service improves. When I went to check out, I was actually excited since it's my birthday month and you get a freebie. There was a small issue at the register holding up the line, which I didn't mind at all things like that happen. There were about three employees up front trying to help, and then Samille came over to check me out. Still no greeting, and her attitude felt like she didn't want to be there. I placed my barcode on the counter so I could get my wallet out, and I asked if I could use my birthday coupon and also get the free item. Instead of asking, she just grabbed my phone and started going through it, which I found extremely rude. I told her that was rude, and she didn't say anything just kept working. Then suddenly she tried to act friendlier, but it felt fake. Overall, this trip was very disappointing. I love Ulta, but the customer service is consistently rude, especially at checkout. I hope this location improves, because the experience leaves a bad impression every time. read more

Update: The packaging on everything is so cute nowadays. My daughter loves coming in with me now to swatch new bright colors and test out scents. Some of the new perfumes have very large packaging that's a little clunky to handle but it's still very cute. Like the new Ariana Grande, and Billie Eilish Eilish scents. Being by the rewards program is worth it. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The displays have gotten much better. read more

Came here because my sister said they were having a sale on red tag clearance items. Walked in the store, checked with an employee before I started shopping...she confirmed the sale. Took a bunch of time picking out items only to get to the counter and be told after they items were ringing up regular price...that the sale ended yesterday and they wouldn't honor what the employee I asked when entering the store told me! I wouldn't recommend this place to ANYONE. I have been to 3 different stylists here and have had an exceptionally unnecessary rude encounter with one of them. After my encounter with her, I reported her to the manager and refused to allow her to do my hair. The manager responded that it was her usual demeanor and they received complaints all the time and that she would do my hair instead. Ridiculous! Each time a stylist has done my hair, I have literally had to instruct them step by step on how to do my hair. I mean, I'm not the one who spent hours in cosmetology school. So of course they don't know the technique well enough to do it correctly so it ends up being a waste of time, money and energy. Do yourself a favor and stay far away. read more

Some of their employees are rude and talk to you as if you don't know anything about make-up & skin-care. And there are some that walk pass by and roll their eyes at you. Not sure what their problem is, but customer service in this store is hit or miss. The only reason why I rate it as 2 stars is because Of the diverse products it offers. But Ulta isn't worth it if the employees treat their customers like they are low class and don't belong shopping there. I'd rather shop online or go to another beauty store that's worth taking a trip to that doesn't treat their customers in a condescending manner. read more

The ONLY saving grace of this Ulta location is Lynsey at the Benefit Brow Beauty Bar! She does an amazing job on my brows every time! She tints and waxes once a month. I recommend making an appointment because she stays booked! She is amazing, and she is the ONLY reason I continue to go back into the store! Otherwise, the people who work in this store are not knowledgeable about the products they sell. Most of them do not have on makeup, so why would you want to buy makeup from them anyway? They dress sloppy, and they act as if helping you is a complete in convenience! This Ulta is the most unorganized store I have ever seen. Their displays always look disorganized. Some of the displays are in disarray especially the Ulta brand displays. One would think the Ulta Brands would be in top shape! Nope! It is in disrepair! Shameful! Go see Lynsey at the brow bar! I was in here yesterday. The store is dirty, the bathroom was dirty (mildew around the sink faucet, floor looked like a dirty mop had been used to push stuff around the floor). All of the tester makeup was either dirty, dried out or misplaced. The displays were dirty as well. I visited the Ulta store in Montgomery, AL at 8:30pm on Oct. 29, 2021 to return some items. I was watching the associate ring in the items and I noticed there was one item more than showing on the screen. I asked the associate, Samille, if we were missing an item. I asked her THREE TIMES and she ignored my question all three times. The fourth time I asked, she said, "no it's all here" without actually verifying anything. After the transaction was complete, I took my receipts and started driving home. At 8:55pm, I get a call from Jasmine and she said, "Can you come back?" Well, maybe tell me WHY for starters? She tells me that it looks like Samille did not ring up one of my returned items. I told her, "I asked her if that was what happened, and she ignored me like I wasn't even speaking to her." Jasmine's response was "It was an honest mistake." NO! An honest mistake would have been if she noticed it happened one of the many times I asked. Instead, she pretended like I was not even speaking to her and forced me to drive all the way back to the store to fix the problem I tried asking about when I was there. I would have complained to the GM Justin, but he was the one that processed the return when I had to come back and he made no attempt to apologize or ask what happened. This is far from the first time I have had issues with rude and untrained employees, but this visit was ridiculous. The attitudes and mediocrity at this store is exhausting. read more

This review is for Ulta Beauty Online, versus this store specifically. I would just like to share that I am absolutely appalled with that complete lack of customer service with their online team. I made a purchase that processed to the wrong shipping address due to an Apple Pay flaw and IMMEDIATELY notified them of the error. In addition to written notification, I also called to get this mistake corrected. The call center not only told me Ulta didn't allow them to update order information, but also proceeded to ship my product to a different state. Even though I was extremely proactive and notified them before the order could even be picked, they are refusing to reroute my order or provide me a courtesy refund. Their only advice was to hope whoever lived at the address would return my product out of the kindness of their heart. Absolutely Ridiculous. read more

I was here to return an item. The cashier did not bother to ask before sending my refund to my original payment, which is a card that does not exist. I used Afterpay to pay for my online order. They use a fake credit card number to pay for online orders. That is why when I return items, I ALWAYS put it back on my debit card, not the original payment. I've been doing my returns to Ulta like this for YEARS and it's never been an issue. Now my refunded money is floating somewhere in Narnia because this cashier doesn't know how to ask questions first. No matter how many times I told them that "Yes, you can put it on a different card. I've done it every other time I return items to Ulta," they couldn't comprehend it. The manager was no help. She just told me to call customer service. This Ulta gets a big fat "F" for failure!! I was there to purchase a specific item that was on sale. I arrived a few minutes after they opened and was told told that they already sold the entire stock. What?!?! There was only one other customer in the store. I then asked to use a tester for a fragrance and the store manger wouldn't allow the sales associate to open one. I've never been treated like that at any other Ulta. Poorly staffed and under stocked at Christmas time. How stupid. read more

They literally destroyed my eyelashes on my right eye at the Benefit Brow Bar. I got them done for a Halloween party and she put way too much of the heavier glue on too close to my eye. I tried every remedy and soaked it for hours. I went in the next day and my eye was extremely irritated and they had like all their people trying to help get it off and not all of it came off. I left with a super red eye and some black glue still there not to mention like half the eyelashes I had before. Beyond disgusted with my services there. DON'T get services done at Benefit. I am an expat from New Orleans and have experienced some trials and tribulations locating complementary services in the Montgomery area. One can only imagine my delight when I walked (rather, ran) into the Ulta on Eastchase for an emergency cut-and-style for a meet-and-greet with my husband's new boss. My stylist Nancy did an exemplary job with my hair. I wanted a whole new cut and without any pictures and a poor description on my part, Nancy gave me a hair style that I just love. The new manager is fantastic. He made sure I had a great experience. I could really tell he knew his stuff when it came to hair and beauty. He was also extremely congenial. As a matter of fact, I was able to meet just about everyone who worked at Ulta and they were all equally polite and professional while being friendly and helpful. NEVER GET YOUR MAKEUP DONE HERE. My daughter was wanting a glam look for prom & they did the complete opposite! They did what they wanted to do which was an all natural look. It took two tries from different people in the beginning. The 2nd lady started on eyebrows and that's when my daughter wanted to leave! She was alone and they practically held her hostage & told her she wasn't allowed to leave without paying! She was scared that they'd call the cops on her. Then the "artist" went to go get another lady which might've been the manager. It took 3 people!! All the staff members here are rude. They made my daughter sit there until they were finished. I came back to my daughter with tears in her eyes! They had ruined her lashes with all the mascara that they used, making her lashes clumpy. They looked like spider webs! This has damaged her beautiful lashes & made them fall out! We had another appointment for hair & they didn't care at all. The manager or who ever she was took her precious time & made us late! She wouldn't let us leave till after she was finished! My daughter was embarrassed to be seen by the other customers & her senior prom was ruined!!! read more

This particular store doesn't even deserve one star. They have the WORST customer service and are extremely unprofessional. Despite the horrible experiences I have had here, I still continued to return ONLY because I adore Lindsey at the benefit brow bar. However after today I will not be returning. I'm called to schedule an appointment with Lindsey today only to be informed by the employee that answered the phone that she was not working today. Great fine. I'll come another day. However. The employee proceeded to give me personal info as to WHY she would not be there today. That she had called out due to blah blah blah. And when I questioned the employee on their professionalism, said employee didn't see a problem with not only giving out a coworkers personal situation but condemning them for the situation. Needless to say, I was disgusted. I absolutely recommend Lindsey to anyone and everyone( I drive an hour and a half to go to get) but I hate this particular ulta. This store is the rudest store I have been to. I will not shop at this Ulta ever again. My first experience the cashier took my coupon and told it was not valid because it was hers. I bought the ad with me. Then she was upset when I had my email coupon like I was taking to much if her time. This was back in Dec 2013. My second experience was today. I called to see if they had a nail polish in stock I wanted to use for a favor in my baby shower. The sales clerk was so rude! She sound inconvenienced to help me. I asked if I could in the store more than 10 as the website only allows to purchase 10. She said I can't order anything from the store very rudely and then asked if there was anything else like she had to go. I'm sorry you are in a customer service position, it is your job to be nice!
