I was so thankful that I ended up with this doctor. First of all he is a good listener and not once did I ever feel rushed in any way. He made eye contact and is patient with any questions you have. He is professional and very knowledgeable and he tried to explore " other " options rather then just rush into surgery. I know Dr. McCarty also is a physician for some professional sports team players in the Minnesota area which helped boost my confidence. If you have a need for an Orthopedic specialist, I give my highest recommendation to Dr. McCarty.

Are you sick right now? Don't bother calling, no one's available. Did you finally get in but need lab work? They now use Quest Diagnostics. Despite have 3 times the lab staff that they had when they were independent, you will have an unacceptable wait time. Quest will then ask for your insurance information ( which you just gave to the front desk). Two days later you will receive a bill directly from Quest telling you that payment is due NOW despite them not submitting it to your insurance. The doctors and office staff are wonderful but Allina has truly made this a nightmare experience!

When you can't walk without pain and you start to change your lifestyle because of it, it tips the scales in favor of surgery. She heard through the grapevine about Dr. J. Chris Coetzee. She had the surgery three weeks ago. The clinic at the University of Minnesota campus was professional, friendly, and very caring. They listened to her fears and concerns and made adjustments. She came home very satisfied. They answered the calls that night when the pain increased and did what they could to help us through the difficult period. But the information they gave us on what to expect was accurate and did not pull any punches. We went back and saw Larry, the PA, after two weeks and he treated her with respect and tenderness as he removed the dressing and stitches.
