My review of this camp is it's a joke!…read more They accused my child of doing something, punished them and made them sit out for TWO HOURS. The incident happened at 2:55 pm. I picked up my child at 4:39. There was no phone call to parent. They mentally abused my child. They emotionally abused my child. I have reported them to CPS and the Berlin township police department. I've asked for video evidence and they are refusing to comply. They did something to my child and are covering it up due to my child's disability. There was no one with my child. For TWO HOURS. They can't prove the incident happened, they can't prove there was someone watching my child. They are the worst summer camp in NJ. They are big bullies. Do not be scared of there threats. They're a joke, just like their "summer camp". They are an EXPENSIVE daycare. If you want your child subjected to abuse, gross negligence and down right uneducated people who have NO IDEA how to handle children with disabilities. I am contacting the ADA and reporting them for discrimination against my child. Do not send your kids here. They have no moral compass. You make a complaint they go silent. They want your money, they're like flies on Sh*it. Adam Freeman, Dee Ann Wilcox and Julie Wintling are liars, abusers and treat kids poorly. Stay away. You've been warned don't waste your money!

I was in really poor health, but my boys pestered me to re-join. I agreed to give it a try....Over 5 years later my youngest is getting ready to test for his second degree and I am still training. I cannot tell you the difference it has made in all of us. My youngest is majorly focused on any task in life in and outside of the school. My health has improved 1000 fold. Garaguso Karate has classes for everyone from 3 years old to adult (I am currently 47 and I am not the youngest student) The youngest students learn respect, discipline, focus, and safety in an energy packed class tailored to their learning ability at that age. As they get older, the kids learn more of the traditional art of Tang Soo Do, light sparring as well as methods of self defense. These classes work to build confidence as well as the other aspects of the younger classes. The older kids (pre-teen) start fully into the traditional art and belt ranking system. More emphasis is placed on fitness challenges. Teens and adults classes are similar, but it allows partner work to be evenly matched. Also, the older classes allow for more attention to technical detail. There are also classes dedicated to fitness workouts, self defense/grappling and contact sparring. Garaguso Karate appreciates the beauty of the traditional art of Tang Soo Do Moo Duk Kwan (under lineage of Grand Master Huang Kee) but understands that there is no one-best-way. They have integrated aspects of Jiu Jitsu, Krav Maga, Judo, Muay Thai and boxing to give a well rounded base for personal self defense. The best aspect of the school is the staff. Almost anyone can teach martial arts. It takes a dedicated person to teach martial arts well. The staff at Garaguso's are continually training. They also take the time to care about each individual student. My experience is that you become part of a family. Many of the students are 5+ year students who stay training long after earning a black (midnight blue) belt. I hope that this helps in your decision.

They reassured me that I needed to sign for an entire year, but that I would be released at the 6 month mark if I wanted. After the 6 months I asked MANY times to be released from the contract and they never let me out of it. So the other 6 months of payments that were left went to collections and I'm still paying it off while trying to pay for school also. This happened about a year ago after I helped them paint their new location for free before it opened... BE CAUTIOUS!!

My daughter was a student here for about five years. They taught her discipline and confidence,…read morethroughout the years I noticed her self confidence grow and her coming out of her shell from being shy. As she progressed through the ranks it wasn't easy but she did it through perseverance and hard work. When she tested for black belt it was a grueling 3 hour test comprising of all the forms and techniques she learned from the beginning on . She also spared students and masters and even had to create her own technique for testing. When she finished her black belt testing I was so proud of her. I saw her grow from being a shy little girl into a confident young lady who could handle herself in any situation, they even made her an instructors aide, assisting the younger students in the class. When she received her black belt they told her she's welcomed back anytime at no cost to train or assist the instructors. Some people may say negative things about a place because they didn't get their way. But Karate unlimited is the real deal if you want your child to be self confident and respectful and able to handle any situation.

This place is about as a Bullshido McDojo as you are going to get! It's a COMPLETE RIPOFF SCAM!!!…read more This place will try to talk you into signing a 3 year contract which is a HUGE red flag!!! And they do it very deceptively! Any good Martial Arts school will not make you sign a contract for more than one year and they will offer a very fair way to get out of that contract by employing the 30 day notice clause. My sister signed up there not knowing anything about McDojo's and got robbed for $900!!! She tore a ligament in her ankle kicking the bags there and couldn't continue. They would not let her out of that bogus contract. She had to get the police involved. Before she eventually prevailed, the company already hit her bank account several times (in a one week span) to the tune of over $900! They said she owed them $6,000!!!! Yes!!! You read that right! SIX THOUSAND DOLLARS!!! She had only been there for 2 weeks!!! Furthermore, what makes this school a McDojo is they have belt test fees (no good school will charge you for a belt test!), children black belts (earning a black belt is extremely difficult! Something children should not be able to do!), black belt clubs (black belt clubs are pure money makers, nothing more!), and a few other things. Read this page or google "what is a McDojo" if you don't believe me! http://mcdojo-faq.tripod.com/ STAY AWAY FROM THIS SCAM SCHOOL AND McDOJO!!!!

I found this studio a few months ago when I decided to reinvent my July 24th for 2025. Last year on this day in 2024 I had surgery to remove the extra skin after losing 165lbs from 311.5lbs and the surgery I came home and unfortunately started bleeding internally and had to go back to the ER for additional surgery in total I lost 4 pints of blood and needed a transfusion. That day I spent most of the day stressed, panicked, unconscious/ in surgery for 10 plus hours unsure of what came next. I knew this year on July 24th I was gonna seize the day and do stuff relaxing and rejuvenating. This yoga session targeted stretching and zen through the class . There was a point where she mentioned to let go of the stuff that's behind us and release it and leave it at the beach. That moment felt great to really zone in the waves and everything at the shore to move past last year. The instructor was very attentive and made sure everyone understood each pose and directed us when to breathe. This was everything I needed for today, the beach setting and the yoga/zen. Beginners or advance levels can take this class. Thank you!

Truly I did know what to expect, except that I knew I had never been the athletic type. So here I was 54 and about to embark on an adventure but I never give it a second thought to! KARATE-Goju ryu , to be exact! I never knew how uncoordinated I was until I couldn't tell my left or my right! As Time progressed I was getting the hang of it I'm not gonna say I was perfect but I was good enough that I could test to get my white belt ,yes you test for your white belt you don't just get a belt ,you work for it! I achieved my white belt on Christmas Eve 2019 .have to say I was pretty proud of myself! It's not like I usually do anything for myself I usually spend all my time and energy and money on other people and this time I'm doing it for me, pushing myself to the limit through Pain, bodyaches , headaches I have not missed a single one of my classes! Then the pandemic hit and training was put on hold but then Sensei Charles Heimlich, opened up a new school in Berlin! Thank God we begin practicing a training again and in October I tested for my yellow belt and I received it! I am very proud of myself I have not received were even asked for the approval of anyone not even of my family ,the only person that I seek approval of is myself and my sensei! I am so glad and proud of myself for as far as I have come so far and I am working now towards my orange belt and I will continue to work hard up until an even beyond my black belt may take me a few years but I will continue because I love it it is the best decision I have made for myself in a very very long time! I would like to say thank you to sensei Charles Heimlich for all your patience, and may our dojo continue to grow and prosper!
