John, who runs the place, is one of those old school friendly, reliable and trustworthy mechanics. The repairs are always done promptly and well and they offer a "chauffeur service" if you can't get home. It is a small, family run business and it is run well. John's other mechanic whom I call "smiley" because he is, and I cant remember his name, is also great. Last time I had my car in for servicing he noticed some other little thing on the body of the car that was bent out of shape (don't ask me any technical terms ) and went out of his way to fix it. I would highly recommend this auto repairs, especially for females who don't know anything about cars because you won't get ripped off! Tip: It is a little hard to find when you go for the first time as the signage doesn't stand out.

Pulse has been good to me for a number of years, and they have been very kind to my unimpressive bank account. Every time something has gone wrong and I have needed new parts etc. They have come in waaaaay under dealer (and other auto repairers) estimates and they have always got the job done super quick. Their speciality used to be vehicle electronics, and it still is, though they are equally as good with all parts of your mechanised transportation module. The other good part is they are located across the road from the Alma, and no, 9:00 in the morning is not to early for a beer! Give them a buzz to book your car in.

Enter through the service station and nip down the side alley - just behind the car yard, you'll find Ashley. This is the place all the staff from the ABC (and I'm sure other businesses in the area) have their cars serviced - trust me I went to Ashley for years when I worked there. I don't have a mechanical bone in my body so I wouldn't know if I needed new brakes, an oil change or my car just needed a clean and that's why I need a good mechanic. If you're looking for an honest, hard working mechanic who will service your car promptly and not charge you for a lot of unnecessary work, go and visit Ashley. You won't regret it.

They tend to work quite quickly and are likely to have you sorted with a minimum of fuss. Services provided by Clisby in addition to general auto electrical servicing include; air conditioning, fuel injection, batteries, alarms and immobilizers, alcohol interlocks and lighting. Clisby is located only a short distance up Main North Road, about two or three streets after Scotty's Motel, so its not too far at all from the city.

We're both really impressed with the way the cars came up and how easy they are to clean now. I'm not one to clean my cars previously often and myself, but now with the treatments done things are a lot easier, the water beads right off making it so easy to clean, what used to take several hours is now a bit under two of solid work. When we collected our vehicles at the end of the day we were asking a lot of questions about best ways to clean the cars and anything we should be mindful of, Hamish was extremely helpful and answered all questions easily. My friend bought a few cleaning products while we were there that he uses every time he washes his car, every week or so. The guys here take a lot of pride in their work and it's clear that this is a passion of theirs. They are usually keen to show their work on their Facebook page and will ask if that is okay before posting images with number plates blacked out. If you are after external paint treatment or internal leather or fabric treatment these guys are great at what they do and they will save you money compared to what you would pay in a dealership.

They might charge a bit more but saying that you know where you stand with them and they have a loan car which is very handy if you need one. I remember when I was of an age when I had no idea how a modern combustion engine worked....actually, I still kind of assume there is a Hamster wheel somewere! Anywho, when I was younger I used to walk past the European imported car dealers and marvel at the Italian and German master pieces that I had only otherwise seen in the odd Bond flick. Solitaire was always a favourite destination of mine, and they still stock some of the slickest cars on the planet! They have expanded a lot over the last decade and with their major show room being the brand new silver and glass 'space station' on Belair Road. Whilst I haven't experienced their service department (I would die of shame if my car came within 100 metres of Solitaire!), I have had dealings with most of the employees through Christmas functions and they are a pretty good buch (surprising for car dealers).
