UPDATE 091125 When I…read moreemailed the vet to tell them to close the file and to forward my dog's file onto her new vet once found here was the response sent back to me. "This is to confirm that the Veterinary-Client-Patient Relationship (VCPR) has been terminated, effective immediately. Your pet's medical records will be forwarded to the veterinary clinic of your choice once we have received that veterinary clinic's request. Please do not contact our clinic again. Dr. Leslie-Anne Smith' --- I did find a different vet office that was able to get my sick dog in tomorrow and they have been amazing to deal with so far. Too bad I cant say the same thing about my experience today with emerald hills vet clinic. Update 091125 This place is beyond unorganized and gone DOWNHILL since dr mah left. My chihuahua has gastrointestinal issues and dr strong was great with helping us try to figure it out. Unfortunately his suggestions didnt work. So we conversed back and forth via email and the phone. He suggested a probiotoc and wrote via email to me, "I will leave the medications on her file, so you can reach out and request them if she still has the diarrhea by tomorrow." I replied back yes ok we will go with the probiotic as suggested ill be by today between noon and 2 pm for pick up or the day after during the early afternoon. I never received a response back saying anything different so I went by as stated the following day because he wrote to me that the prescription would be in her file. When I arrived the front desk staff had no idea what I was talking about. There was no prescription waiting for me as I asked and nothing in her file. I was livid because we had appts in West Edmonton and went out of our way between medical appts to goto shpk to pick up a prescription for my sick dog. I asked cant something be written up while im here because i dont know when I can make it back here? No im told prescriptions take 24-48 hours to fill. I asked, he cant come out and see me? No hes in appointments and were not going to pull him out. I asked cant he see me between appts because again I dont know when I can come back again they aren't open on wknds. Nope not going to happen. The absolute lack of customer service over something so basic is unfathomable. I was beyond frustrated im on limited time I went out of my way to go there and the receptionist puts up her hands and says I have to walk away I have to walk away and disappears in the back. Next thing i know a lady who I later find out is the female vet who wrote the email above appears and starts in on me telling me I can't be abusive to her staff lol I tried explaining what was happening and she kept cutting me off. I lost my cool and stormed out. My dog has beeb a client of dr mah and this clinic for several years and never had such issues when dr. Mah was there. We will NEVER step foot back in this god for saken place. You shouldn't either. If you feel like wasting your time, go here. If you want a vet office that doesnt put your sick pet's health first or deem their medical needs unimportant go here. Ps i should make note of the vet dr strong suggested the Purina gastrointestinal food. We purchased a small bag of it as per his suggestion for almost $50. My dog absolutely refuses to eat it. When I contacted the vet office to let them know she isn't eating this expensive food that was suggested they said I could return it for a refund. Then dr strong calls me and tells me to only feed her this food ahe absolutely refuses to eat "she'll eat it eventually" he says. She hasn't eaten it and wont eat it. We would like a refund. Yet more money thrown away from a place that states I struck a desk lol when I dont remember doing that. I do remember getting loud and vocal because they didnt do as they said they would aka put the prescription in the file and have it ready. I gave 24 hours notice and no one responded stating it wouldn't be ready. If they did I wouldnt have driven there and wasted my time and theirs. If they had simply done as they said they would all of this could have been prevented. I wonder how many other pet parents have been subjected to this behaviour from what should be a professional vet medical team whose main goal should be providing care to sick pet's and supporting the scared and worried pet parents instead of berating and going out of their way NOT to help them. Nice try trying to show youre a professional office and I was the offensive one. If your office had done what it said it was going to do in the first place none of this would have happened. Thats a you problem not a me problem!

The staff are only alright, they are friendly but kinda crude when it comes to making decisions…read moreabout what they are recommending. It's their way or the highway. No discussion. To top it off while their office building is always super clean, and relatively modern, it does not make up with the lack of services they can do in office, and to top it off extremely high prices for any of their services. My most recent experience is having to get a cat cremated, and unfortunately had to put down two animals in a span of a week. This office charged over 200% more for a private cremation while I got the identical service done at a different vet clinic also in Sherwood Park. The company that did the cremation were identical in both cases. ONLY benefit going here is they often have same or next day availability. But that's probably cause people have gotten smarter and avoid this place.

My husband and his family had been taking their dog and cat to a vet here (Dr. Holowaychuk, the…read morefounder of the clinic) for years. When we moved in together 5 years ago, we started taking our cats here as well. We've seen three vets over the course of that time; the first one - who was excellent - moved away, the second one (Dr. Clarke), who we still see, and the third one (Dr. Sinclair), who we just recently started to see when we had an emergency with one of our cats and the subsequent follow up visits. Now, our cats are not young, and one of them has a couple of ongoing health concerns that require medication. All three of the ladies that we have taken our cats to have been very thourough, explain everything really well (which is obviously very important), answer all questions and are understanding. They are also so obviously cat ladies, which I love. They talk to the cats and pet them and are just really great with them. I mentioned our emergency situation earlier, and I just want to expand on that a bit. We noticed Clair (the cat) acting strangely, so called and were able to bring her in right away. We had to keep taking her in, put her on different medication and do some other things. I was very stressed the whole time. Dr. Sinclair was great during the appointments, and the staff at the clinic called constantly to check up on her and make follow up appointments. I also called in a couple of times and spoke with one of the girls at the front as well as an extremely helpful tech named Katy. All of the staff are concerned about your pet there. The clinic is very clean. The waiting area is nice and open, with a little shop area with toys, food and grooming supplies. I'm pretty sure the ladies at the front have been there for at least the past 5 years, too, which is nice. I can't really comment at the prices, because to be honest with you, it doesn't really concern me, and I have nothing to compare it to since we've been going here for a while. Part of being a pet owner are the associated costs, and I will pay for quality care. Good hours - open until 6pm every weekday and 8pm on Tuesdays. Open Saturdays 9-4.

But the whole experience with Heritage Hills from making the appointment to leaving the clinic was smooth and reassuring. The lady at reception, Carla, was friendly and compassionate - you could tell she was an animal lover herself and understood my feelings. She had a very welcoming personality that made you feel at-ease. She managed to book us in for that same day, just a few hours later at a time that worked for me. When we arrived, they had no trouble getting her records from our usual vet, and they got her weighed and us in an exam room in no time. Dr. Khehra was very professional and soft-spoken with a friendly smile for his canine patient and myself. He quickly figured out the issue, did some tests, and prescribed a treatment. Costs of treatments and procedures were well described to me before anything was done, and were fairly reasonable, even with the numerous medications and tests my dog needed. I would definitely recommend this clinic to anyone in Sherwood Park.

Nobody wants to have to go to an emergency vet... but sadly it happens…read more My senior dog has been quite ill for a while now. He was in end of life care with his regular vet, and we basically just focused on keeping him happy and comfortable for the past few months. On Friday, he took a turn for the worst and I knew his time had come. I called our vet and unfortunately they were already booked solid until the following Monday. I could tell he was suffering though, and couldn't let him go through the weekend like that. So, I headed over to Pulse. We had been there with our cat a few months ago and were treated well, so it was the first place I thought of. I can't say enough about the staff who were at the front desk. I walked in with my dog in my arms and tears in my eyes. Nothing prepares you for that, even when you know it's coming. They were so compassionate and kind to me and my family. The vet who did the exam was thorough and presented the situation clearly so that I could make the best decision for him. Sadly, it was time to say good bye. The staff didn't rush us, but checked in on us periodically to make sure we were okay. They even brought my dog a bowl full of random goodies for him to chow down on while we cuddled him and loved on him for as long as we could. The price was higher than our usual vet, but that is to be expected at an emergency vet. I would not hesitate to bring any pet to this office in the future.

I knew something was wrong and they refused to listen. Pulse Vet was our go-to for years; ever since they first opened their doors, we have brought our dog in for various reasons and it was always such a calming experience. It went downhill so badly after the company was purchased. I rushed my sweet boy in on a Thursday night, knowing something was wrong. He was limp, weak, and wobbly. I asked to do any tests needed because I felt like he was in pain. 4 hours passed in the waiting room and we finally were told that they observed him in the back and nothing was wrong. They took his vitals only, and the vet did not receive my context for bringing him in, nor the photos and videos they asked for that showed what was happening immediately before taking him in. The front desk was not helpful at all when I asked even for a minor update, as if I were inconveniencing them. My sweet boy died 2 days later.
