The dogs needed to be shot. The dogs went to the vet. The vet shot the dogs. The dogs licked the vet. The end.

The absolutely the best! Wish I could give more stars…read more We were so lucky to acquire care from Dr. Fredlund and all the lovely Assistants, Techs and Specialists. They have treated us like family since day one and always made sure we have every question answered. They showed our dog respect, compassion and kindness when he took his last breath. We cannot recommend Brintnell enough. Special Thank you to Dr. Fredlund, Brittany, Kelly and Katrina and honestly every single person at Brintnell vet!

My vet at the time sang her praises and assured me my dog was in great hands so I trusted her with this. My poor dog ended up having to get quite a few teeth extracted and I was assured everything went well and my dog would be fine. As time went on I noticed something was still bugging her in her mouth so when she had to go in to get another lump removed at my new current vet I asked them to take X-rays. I got a call shortly after I left her there from my new vet who informed me that whoever did the last dental/extractions (which was Dr. Fredlund) left a good sized root fragment behind on each side of her mouth at the back. I was of course shocked and then extremely angry that I not only had to pay for another dental/extractions just over a year from her last one but that my poor little girl had to get her gums cut open again and you can't do any extractions without doing a dental first. I asked them to save those root fragments and when I saw them they were a pretty big size that they should've in absolute NO way have been left behind. If left there that site would have most certainly have abscessed at some point. I am going to add a picture of the root fragments so you can see that they are big especially for a smaller mouth. I could maybe understand it better if they were teeny fragments but they aren't and all it would've taken to make sure nothing was missed was a thorough job or a simple X-ray after the extractions. I just want to warn anyone who may be considering taking their beloved pet to this establishment because I would hate for this to happen to some other pet. We are supposed to be able to trust the vets we go to and trust that they do a thorough job so this is very upsetting and frustrating. My little girl did NOT deserve that!!!

UPDATE 091125 When I…read moreemailed the vet to tell them to close the file and to forward my dog's file onto her new vet once found here was the response sent back to me. "This is to confirm that the Veterinary-Client-Patient Relationship (VCPR) has been terminated, effective immediately. Your pet's medical records will be forwarded to the veterinary clinic of your choice once we have received that veterinary clinic's request. Please do not contact our clinic again. Dr. Leslie-Anne Smith' --- I did find a different vet office that was able to get my sick dog in tomorrow and they have been amazing to deal with so far. Too bad I cant say the same thing about my experience today with emerald hills vet clinic. Update 091125 This place is beyond unorganized and gone DOWNHILL since dr mah left. My chihuahua has gastrointestinal issues and dr strong was great with helping us try to figure it out. Unfortunately his suggestions didnt work. So we conversed back and forth via email and the phone. He suggested a probiotoc and wrote via email to me, "I will leave the medications on her file, so you can reach out and request them if she still has the diarrhea by tomorrow." I replied back yes ok we will go with the probiotic as suggested ill be by today between noon and 2 pm for pick up or the day after during the early afternoon. I never received a response back saying anything different so I went by as stated the following day because he wrote to me that the prescription would be in her file. When I arrived the front desk staff had no idea what I was talking about. There was no prescription waiting for me as I asked and nothing in her file. I was livid because we had appts in West Edmonton and went out of our way between medical appts to goto shpk to pick up a prescription for my sick dog. I asked cant something be written up while im here because i dont know when I can make it back here? No im told prescriptions take 24-48 hours to fill. I asked, he cant come out and see me? No hes in appointments and were not going to pull him out. I asked cant he see me between appts because again I dont know when I can come back again they aren't open on wknds. Nope not going to happen. The absolute lack of customer service over something so basic is unfathomable. I was beyond frustrated im on limited time I went out of my way to go there and the receptionist puts up her hands and says I have to walk away I have to walk away and disappears in the back. Next thing i know a lady who I later find out is the female vet who wrote the email above appears and starts in on me telling me I can't be abusive to her staff lol I tried explaining what was happening and she kept cutting me off. I lost my cool and stormed out. My dog has beeb a client of dr mah and this clinic for several years and never had such issues when dr. Mah was there. We will NEVER step foot back in this god for saken place. You shouldn't either. If you feel like wasting your time, go here. If you want a vet office that doesnt put your sick pet's health first or deem their medical needs unimportant go here. Ps i should make note of the vet dr strong suggested the Purina gastrointestinal food. We purchased a small bag of it as per his suggestion for almost $50. My dog absolutely refuses to eat it. When I contacted the vet office to let them know she isn't eating this expensive food that was suggested they said I could return it for a refund. Then dr strong calls me and tells me to only feed her this food ahe absolutely refuses to eat "she'll eat it eventually" he says. She hasn't eaten it and wont eat it. We would like a refund. Yet more money thrown away from a place that states I struck a desk lol when I dont remember doing that. I do remember getting loud and vocal because they didnt do as they said they would aka put the prescription in the file and have it ready. I gave 24 hours notice and no one responded stating it wouldn't be ready. If they did I wouldnt have driven there and wasted my time and theirs. If they had simply done as they said they would all of this could have been prevented. I wonder how many other pet parents have been subjected to this behaviour from what should be a professional vet medical team whose main goal should be providing care to sick pet's and supporting the scared and worried pet parents instead of berating and going out of their way NOT to help them. Nice try trying to show youre a professional office and I was the offensive one. If your office had done what it said it was going to do in the first place none of this would have happened. Thats a you problem not a me problem!

My experience with Westbrook Vet Clinic started out great - initially…read more Staff was really friendly and they were all excited about her, as they had never seen her breed before; a Black Russian Terrier. I then booked an appt. for her required second set of shots. (note: I spent quite awhile at that first visit, as what dog lover doesn't love to talk about their dog? LOL. I felt they were a bit 'heavy handed' about the insurance. But take it or leave it right? As it turned out - to get insurance for my dog; with a $250. deductible it would have cost me ONLY $500. plus per month. I just about fell on the floor. I was stunned that anyone could say that with a straight face. Seriously?!?! Obscenely ridiculous. I don't know anyone - with or without tons of money who would EVER consider paying such extortion-like prices.) However, the part that left me VERY UNIMPRESSED was that when I went in for my appt. (you know; pre-booked for that specific service?) The vet was friendly and examined her in a small exam room. He gave her the kennel cough nasal dosing and then proceeded to tell me that they 'were out' of vaccines. Sooooo NOT COOL!! But stuff happens and although I wasn't thrilled to have to return again; it was not the end of the world. Right? So, I return when the vaccines 'came in' and I was stunned to have a 'woman from the front counter' (what were her credentials? was she a vet tech? She didn't clarify anything) She just took her leash from me and promptly WALKED AWAY WITH MY DOG (not inviting me, the owner to follow or otherwise) she went into one of the exam rooms and passed thru the rear door (closing it behind her) I, of course followed, thinking 'what the heck are you doing lady?!?!' I open the rear door to their back room - where I said "Um, I want to be WITH my dog and SEE the vaccination" and there she was giving her the injection! Of course she may well have been a trained vet assistant but I'll never know! She was quite arrogant about the whole thing and acted like I was making a big deal out of nothing. I PAID for a physical exam and expected the VET to give her the injection. (I can go to G & E Pharmacy and obtain my own vaccinations for about $9 bucks. *** I have owned dogs forever and done this countless times in the past; when my pets were in great physical condition (you cannot do rabies yourself, but I had never taken any of my dogs out in the bush or forested areas so I never had rabies shots done) Needless to say, the 'in-stock' preparedness was a big FAIL but the 'woman-at-the-counter-walking-away-with-my-dog' (without explanation) was ENTIRELY UNACCEPTABLE. I have dealt with vet techs and have no problem. But in this case who knows what her training was? The ONLY reason I go to a vet is for 'THE VET'!!!! Never again. - TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE - I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE FOR ANYONE - VERY POOR COMMUNICATION SKILLS They blew it, period.
