Out of desperation we had the car towed and Barbara at Haines could not have been more helpful. She was the one - not Hertz - who told us what to do and assured us she had done it many times. She called them and got the return confirmation from them so we could return it through her and just rent a replacement. I don't know what we would have done without her help.
