Ignore the negative comments. Trust me on this. My son's rental car alternator went on the turnpike and Hertz was no help at all. Out of desperation we had the car towed and Barbara at Haines could not have been more helpful. She was the one - not Hertz - who told us what to do and assured us she had done it many times. She called them and got the return confirmation from them so we could return it through her and just rent a replacement. I don't know what we would have done without her help. And she texted us later and responded to our calls later for follow up. When you're in a crisis and someone helps like this, it's invaluable. read more

Highly recommend this towing service if stuck on the NJ Turnpike. i got stuck right before exit 7A south bound. my right rear air suspension popped and i was unable to continue driving, the staff is professional and courteous. The Tech that was sent out to me was very careful with my vehicle and no damage was done while being loaded on the flat bed. (5/5 stars) They worked with my AAA and i paid nothing out of pocket to get my vehicle off of the Turnpike. i highly recommend Haines Towing, thanks again for a positive towing experience on a crappy day. read more

$150 for a 5 minute 3 mile drive. They have you call to make payment but then you need to send pictures of your card and drivers license, sketchy. Then they text you a link to pay. If you take more than 1 minute to pay they call you and threaten to tow your car away from the drop off location. Definitely never using again and definitely would never recommend to anyone. read more

My car broke down on the New Jersey Turnpike just after exit 7A. Apparently my engine blew and my car started to fill up with smoke. Unfortunately, my car was no longer drivable. The towing service by Haines Towing was outstanding. I was off the highway in no time and my car was towed back to Plainfield in no time. The staff was super friendly, professional and caring; and the technician, Shaun, who towed my car to an auto shop was not only courteous and professional, he was also very funny. My rental car broke down in the middle of the highway during rush hour in 24 degree weather and Will + the Haines towing services team were so kind, helpful, professional, prompt, and generous. They really went above and beyond. I'm not sure if one gets to pick a towing service or if it's more a matter of whoever is closest (which is how it happened for me), but I would highly recommend them. They're really lovely people. I was picking up my adult sister, who is special needs, on Christmas Eve so she could spend Christmas with my family. My car threw a fan belt on the NJ Turnpike and we were stranded! Stressful enough, but especially with my sister. Sean from Haines Towing was incredible with us, especially my sister. Ok I agree with all the negative reviews. These people are not there to help the public in time of need . After dinner on thanksgiving we got a flat tire. They came to tow our car and after fifty minutes of waiting they showed up and said they would only take the car back to their location not a bmw dealership which was only 7 miles away . So we got to their place and a very rough looking woman said we had to pay her cash ! She would not take credit cards or a check and the bill to tow around five miles to their place was over $100 !! I questioned her what if someone did not have cash, it was after all 3 am . She got rider and more belligerent because I think she wanted cash so she could pocket the money. Very shady business! Shoutout to Haines Towing Service for rescuing us off the Jersey Turnpike. Believe me when I say that being stranded on the Turnpike on a Harly Davidson on the way back to DC was extremely disconcerting. You guys are awesome! Edwin was an amazing driver and the rest of the drivers who were there were very hospitable as well. It took AAA over 3 hours to send a driver to pick us up to take us to our destination but these guys were warm and helpful the entire time. They helped to make our stay as comfortable as possible and tried to offer a few solutions where possible. My hat is off to the crew at Haines Towing Service and Eddie is the MAN! Thank you and while it was a pleasure meeting you all...I hope I never need to see you again unless we're all hanging out together and I'm buying you all a round in gratitude for your service. read more

The owner AND his wife so obviously treat their employees like garbage. You can tell so much about a person from how they engage with their employees. The morale seems so low it's depressing, I mistakenly walked in the wrong building before I saw the office. When originally calling, I heard the most abusive misuse of power to someone who worked there, it was aggressively demeaning. Upon walking in the office, I saw who I was told was the owner's wife condescendingly telling an employee that they had no right to even use the office public bathroom to wash their hands , nor could they eat lunch around them. At that point I left before she even saw me. Clearly they have no interest in human morale, it honestly made me turn around tho it inconvenienced me to do so, I went out of my way to bring my business elsewhere. On a side note, a buddy prior warned me of a DEPLORABLE story regarding blatant and very public reprimand of payed employees, I'm only regretting attempting to do business. I, for one want nothing to do with employers who show a facade to customers, all the while treating those who are trying to make an honest living as if they are categorically less than. read more

I have to give a big thank you to Haines Towing Service, they came to the rescue yesterday when we broke down with our fifth wheel in tow on the NJ Turnpike. They got our camper and our truck to safety and even allowed the auto shop to work in the parking lot to so we were able to get home on a the last leg of our trip to Sussex county NJ from NC. The two gentlemen who towed both our truck and camper were very friendly and the woman in the office was very sweet. read more

It's raining on a Saturday night on the NJ Turnpike, I'm driving from VA to NY and my car dies and I call for help. The crew form Haines was there in less than 30 minutes. Got me safely off the road, set me up with a tow to a car service open on Sunday and suggested a great hotel to stay the night. Couldn't have asked for a better experience. I'm not even sure where to begin with this rant.... Haines Towing in Bordentown LLC is the worst experience I've ever had with a towing company. Mark got cut off today on 195 coming home from work. He lost control of his truck spun out and hit a light post along with blowing out his tire so the state police called a tow truck for him. The driver for Haines said that he was only allowed to tow him all the way back to their yard so I called to see what the problem was and why they couldn't tow him to his choice of garage or our home. I was told it was because it's a state of emergency. My response was, your trucks are built and equipped to drive in all kinds of weather so what you're telling me is that you want me to drive on these roads from Hightstown all the way to Bordentown to pick Mark up?! Her response to me was, we are not a taxi service. With that being said I blew a gasket. My next question to her was, will he be charged a storage fee if he has to leave his truck overnight due to this weather and she told me no. I finally get to the tow yard and Mark asks if he will be charged a overnight fee. I guess she didn't realize I was standing behind him and told him yes, there would be a charge if he left his truck there overnight. I explained to her that's not what I was told on the phone and she said that she never told me that!! Wtf with this place.??? Really?? We just wanted to pay, get the keys to his truck and get out of there. Mark hands the other women his debit card and she says, sorry I was told I can't take your card and you need to pay with cash. NOW I LOST MY SHIT COMPLETELY!! She would not take his card because she was pissed off at me for arguing with her. She made us get back into the car in this weather and drive to a bank to take cash out. Keep in mind that they do take credit cards and debit cards but because she was pissed off at me she refused to take his card. She wouldn't allow the truck to be towed to where we wanted because it's a state emergency but she makes us go back onto the road to find a bank to take money out because she pissed I called her out on a lie. It's a real shame that a business that's been around for years takes advantage of a state of emergency to make money!! Shame on you!!! I'll be reporting them to the BBB along with any other social media I can!!! HAINES TOWING IN BORDENTOWN should be ashamed of their business practices!!! Not only did Mark serve this country in the Army he's a volunteer fireman as well. No respect at all. read more

UNBELIEVEABLE. Broke down on the NJ Turnpike. Had to get towed and they hassled with taking my AAA. After I arrived they said the case was closed and I cannot use my AAA membership! Only two other tow companies could take it off the lot to PA to my mechanic. No others are allowed. THEY CHARGED ME $80 FOR THE TOW TO GET MY CAR BACK AND WOULD NOT GIVE ME MY KEYS UNTIL I PAID!!! THEY NEVER TOLD ME OR HAD ME SIGN ANYTHING ON THE TURNPIKE ABOUT THE CHARGE! The guy screamed at me to get off the lot when I went to get stuff from my car and tried to push me with the gate. Horrible customer service. I am so angry with this company. My son, who is military, got into an accident in icy conditions at 3 in the morning. State Police policy is to call one the tow companies on their list, not wait for the person's road side assistance. Enter Haines towing. My son didn't have the funds, the tow driver told him it could be paid over the phone. So I called and was then told it could not be paid over the phone. I told the person, my husband is also military and could stop by on his way to the base in a few hours. Nope. We had to come in person if we wanted my son to get home any time soon and get his car released. Car had a dented fender and was drivable. No consideration for a military family at all. They rather my husband and I also get on the icy roads to get there. I called the next business day to give the owners an opportunity to clear this up and apologize. The owners are Joe & Chrissy Haines. The person I spoke to, Angie I think, said she was also an owner. I explained everything to her, no apology. She then stated if my son could make payment, they wouldn't have release the car with out a waiver since it was dark out and he may not have be able to really see the damage. "Wouldn't I as his mother want him to wait anyway until daylight". I couldn't believe this "person" would say that. If that's the case, why did they release the car to us at 4am without signing any waiver? When I responded that she was rude and disrespectful, she hung up on me.
