Everything is crammed to the ceilings with lots of options and choices. Wonderful baked goods, teas, cereals, vitamins, and lots of great refrigerated and frozen treats as well. They also have the best veggie burger selection I've seen in the city! If you are veggie, vegan, gluten-free, or simply health conscious, Peppercorns is your place. Fortunately, I also prefer to purchase responsibly farmed fruit and vegetables, so shops like Planet Organic make the once mundane task of food shopping now seemingly effortless. I have a special place in my heart for this particular Planet Organic, as it saw me through a rather awkward six weeks of my life after a plumbing disaster flooded my flat. I was forced to seek temporary housing in an unfamiliar neighbourhood I almost never ventured into. Even so, it was a pleasant surprise to find a familiar health food shop nearby, especially since this Planet Organic is their largest. Thankfully, it offered more than I could have imagined and I found myself popping in each morning on my way to the tube station for a fresh juice and again for a quick snack on my way back to my hotel at the end of each day. all natural yogurts (soy, too)...creamy and delicious refreshing juices and other healthy beverages fruits and veggies...seasonal, local, and responsibly farmed pasta...made from quinoa, spelt, rice, or wheat wheat-free biscuits...scrumptious and satisfying nuts and seeds...fresh and flavourful lotions...a nice variety of all natural and oil-free products for face and body hair care...all natural shampoos, conditioners, and colour treatments dental care...Neem toothpastes, dental tape, and breath fresheners There is too much more to mention, and some options will change with their seasonal availability. Portobello Wholefoods is tucked away in a dark corner under the railway bridge, at weekends you barely notice it. During the week it provides the perfect addition to the fruit and veg stalls along Portobello Road. They stock everything you'd expect from a decent health food store at OK prices. One of the highlights for me includes the large selection of loose teas; I'd be lost without my fix of vanilla or mango tea in the morning! You can go hardcore with green and herbal as well, of course. All tastes and dietry requirements catered for.

I mainly come for the amazing choice of vitamins and supplements as although I'm not a vegetarian I really don't see the point of taking something that's meant to be good for you, but actually has weird animal additives added or is encased in a gelatin shell (last time I checked boiled animal skin and bones really don't do anything for you). Also, I've met a lot of different staff and they are all eager to help with their wealth of knowledge on all things healthy. It's probably a tad more expensive to shop here, so you should stick to getting your more mundane items such as dried fruit from the supermarket, but for something a little bit special it's perfect. Why not try the gelatin free raspberry jelly or the fortified mineral water (you take your own bottles to fill and pay by the litre). Another great idea is that they don't automatically give you carrier bags at the till. There are a few used ones available if you really need one, but why not follow their lead and bring your own canvas bag to fill up.

For 8 pounds, I got the most delicious bowl topped with granola, almond butter, hemp seeds and fresh blueberries and raspberries - heaven! The acai was thick and didn't melt which is rare! I haven't had one with almond butter before and it gave the acai an extra creamy feel. Clean and Lean also had some great looking salads and sweet treats on the counter which I would have been tempted by, if I had been at all hungry. They also do Paleo toast, if that's your thing. Seriously, I have a tick skin, so not bothered too much, and wouldn't even write the review, but I thought about other people who want to go there and may not have such a resilience for bullying behaviour, and how it could affect their day! Products overpriced, too many of them, and all over the place. To top it up, very, very, very rude lady working there. I always get a crepe and a smoothie soooo delicious! The savoury crepe with mozzarella and pesto is to-die-for. Plus they have an excellent range of teas (a big plus point for me) and a cute little clothes shop downstairs (for women). It makes me smile when I walk past it as it's the best independent cafe in West Hampstead and really friendly. In fact, I want to go now!
