Student Housing Australia - dirty carpet

Not recommended. Living at SHA was a terrible experience, management is too poor and insensitive…read moretowards the problems of the tenants. When I moved in, there were no blinds in the living area and I lodged a complaint that was entertained just 3 months before the end of lease period and the creamy-colored couch was too dirty and whole carpet was full of hairs. One day I woke up to corridors flooded with water possibly bcx of some pipeline that bursted and nobody was there to fix the problem for next 2 days. Bulbs/electric globes were quite old and fused within few months after I moved in, I ordered tons of bulbs from different stores and all did not work since there was something wrong with electric wiring. My request for maintenance fell over deaf ears. I know bulb replacement is renters own headache but taking care of wiring is the responsibility of rental provider. Just a suggestion, if you plan to move out better not to invest lots of money on their recommended professional cleaners bcx there is no way possible you will be getting your bond back. Before moving out I paid ~600$ to Boda Cleaning Service and made sure I left the property is perfect form perfect than ever before, property manager did not come for inspection when I moved out instead asked me to drop keys to their office. Next day, sent me an email of 880$ deduction for may be a "self-created" damage that I was never familiar with. In short, Student Housing Authority caused me a loss of 880 (deduction from bond)+~600 (cleaning)+80$ (bulbs)=1560$, sufficient financial drain for a student. By the end, you will lose your bond payment without any reason and whatever you pay to cleaner on the top of that!

They will try to squeeze every single cent out of your pockets. Try your best to fight back,…read morebecause they will try to get as much money from you as possible and hope that you don't fight back, you should as most off the time you will save some money because they KNOW they are taking alot of money from you.

Unilodge has charged me the wrong monthly rent since the day I moved. Every time I paid the figure…read morei was told for the month, (monthly rent changes according to number of days in a month). However when i ask about how much i have to pay the following month. They tell me I still have rent owning for the previous month. How is that possible when i paid the exact figure they asked me to. Everytime i went to confront management about g this issue, just so they would get the amount right each time they would say they are currently looking into it as a way of stalling the settlement of the issue. All in all, they are never accountable with your money, charge you for everything possible, and would put all blame on you just so they do not have to bear any responsibility or incur any charges.

This place sucks!! They made me move to another unit when my contract is about to end less than 1…read moremonth, and gave me the notice only 2 weeks before the date I had to vacate the unit and move to another unit, which meant I had to move my things 2 times! On the top of that, I had to cut my internet line, and had no internet line at the new unit! I asked for compensation for at least the internet connection, since the owner made me move out before the contract ends, but no.. the fucking unfriendly receptionist leisurely said, "we can't do anything about it" and claimed that I was so lucky that I only need to move across the room. End of discussion. No effort whatsoever. Seriously, this is the worst renting experience in my whole life. I've never felt being treated this unfair ever. I didn't do anything wrong, paid rent on time, and never caused any problems. DO NOT consider renting at Unilodge. Your contract means nothing. They can do anything they want, evict you in their convenience, and don't care about your rights. They only care about their rights and always cover up their mistakes. Fuck you Unilode! Fuck you receptionist bitches!!!

I lived in UniLodge D2 for 6 months, and my girlfriend has lived there for nearly three years. Over…read morethat period of time, it has degraded to such a degree that she cannot wait to get out of there. Homeless people regularly crash on the couches downstairs. Most recently, security footage has found a community of homeless people gathering on the ground floor, raiding the vending machines, between 4am and 6am, with some hanging around throughout the morning. This happens on a regular basis. Residents are not screened, or rooms checked up on. People smoke in their rooms or the stairwells, making entire floors smell of cigarettes and setting off the fire alarm at all hours of the night - most recently at 12.30am last night. People dump their trash in the stairwells (and not just a few), leaving it to rot and stink up entire hallways. Fights take place in the alley directly next to the building, and the pub just next door plays deep, loud music until 2-3am every weekend night. To top it all off, rent is expensive and rooms are cheap. Furnishings within the rooms are average at best, the smallest damages are charged towards your account and if you want to leave because you don't want to live in a ghetto such as D2 anymore, you pay huge cancellation fees, including continuing to pay rent until the room is filled by another unfortunate tenant.
