It's fully fenced, and there are various spots of grass, bigger trees for shade, and a few spots of humans to sit. There are also some bowls for water (not sure who fills them). If I lived closer, I'd definitely check it out more often. It's one of the most pleasant dog parks I've seen.

Hoping this will let the folks know! It is situated sort of right behind Yale Divinity School but on St Ronan Street. Ample space. It's summer and it's been hot and dry so a bit dusty at the moment though there are grassy areas. Has benches for humans to sit on. I would bring some water if possible to fill up the bowls for your dog, I do not believe there is a water source on site. Seems like the type of place people stop by to let their dogs run while they are walking their dogs, which I love. Pop in for a little bit and let the dog run, then continue on your walk! My dog has only met lovely fun dogs there so far. Great location- I'll be going here a lot during my time in New Haven.

Learned that it was funded by the nearby Corsair apartments and that it just opened within the last month. I wish I had known about the grand opening they had earlier this week. This park is slightly closer to my house than the Union Street dog park (where I usually go), is clean and a perfect size (spacious for the dogs but small enough to keep an eye on them) with 2 benches, lots of trees/shade and shrubbery, as well as a dog and human water fountain. There was also a dispenser fully stocked with poop bags. The park is made of small pebbles and there is a small dog area adjacent to the main park. I've seen the name referred to as Mechanic Street Dog Park and East Rock Dog Park, but a flier posted also stated they were looking for suggestions for a name, so time will tell. This will be me and my dogs' new spot in town!

In those 8 years I have had 3 different dogs and all loved East Shore Park. My current dog thinks the park is all for him: he would go there multiple times a day if I let him, but we usually aim for once or twice a day at most. There are multiple areas to explore including tennis courts, a playground, several ball fields and overgrown bocce courts. Unfortunately the sewage treatment plant smell still lingers. Definitely a down fall to living in this neighborhood. But the water views and park itself can't be beat.

Bodie's Place Playground is an inclusive, boundless playground that opened at Eisenhower Park in…read moreMilford, Connecticut in May 2011. The 16,000-square-foot playground was made possible by a $400,000 fundraising campaign. The playground is named for John "Bodie" Vaccino", a local Milford boy who was born with cerebral palsy. When he was younger, his parents took him to a boundless playground called Hannah's Dream in New Haven. Bodie was able to play with his sister, Emma, as if he had no limitations. His parents then set a project in motion to bring a similar playground to their hometown of Milford. They didn't want a playground just for children with disabilities, but rather a community play mecca for kids of all abilities. The playground was designed by John Hollerbach, owner of Creative Recreation, who has worked on other projects associated with the nonprofit Boundless Playgrounds. An adjoining splash pad opened in July 2018. My family and I recently visited Bodie's Place Playground while we were on our summer break from school. My wife and I are always looking for good playgrounds for our sons, and we heard lots of great things about Bodie's Place. The playground actually features 2 large playscapes: one intended for younger children (ages 2-5) and another intended for older children (ages 5-12). We thought that both playscapes were equally impressive. After our sons played on them for a while, they changed into their swimsuits and headed on over to the equally impressive splashed. Both of our sons had a blast! I must also note that there are plenty of amenities at the park, including bathrooms, pavilions, picnic tables and benches available at the park. We highly recommend Bodie's Place Playground to families with small children and look forward to returning!

Recently moved to Wallingford and I was excited that the dog park was even closer to our new house…read morethan the Hamden one was to our last house. This park is super convenient if you live on the more southern end of Wallingford. If you don't, it's literally right off the highway. There's a parking lot which has plenty of spots. What I like the most about this park (compared to Hamden) is the small dog side is larger and more out-in-the-open. You can sit in the sun or sit in the shade. Park is very clean and there are plastic containers filled with plastic bags in case you don't bring your own waste bags. There are some large water bowls, but visitors have to provide their own water (one perk of the Hamden park is they had hoses and running water for the dogs). Everyone I've met at the park has been very friendly. They even had an agility course yesterday on the large dog side of the park that looked fun. While the weather is still nice I've been bringing my dog here a few days a week and he seems to enjoy it. The park also has the double-gate entryway so it keeps dogs safe from running out. And in front is one of those little free book libraries in case you're so inclined. (Books for humans, not dogs).

Such an absolutely gorgeous park that I found by accident. I was looking for something to do to get…read morein my evening cardio, and drove across a bridge that had a beautiful lake below. Made a quick uturn and spent the next two hours enjoying this completely paved and awesome park. There is about a 4-5 mile fully paved path, with mountain biking paths adjacent to it, as well as wooded paths. You'll see VERY friendly swans, geese, and ducks (please don't feed them), plenty of squirrels, and the occasional tiny bird running away from you. The are several grass lined bridges that make you feel like you're inside a fairytale, but be careful as they run very low to the water, and are extremely soft in some places. There are steps at various points that lead you back up to the main road at random points, and at the very end you'll happen upon a cool ass skate park. Lover this park so much and will use it as my walking spot going forward!

I went in winter and not only did it look barren as one might expect, but it felt really sketchy!! Cars with missing license plates, homeless people, etc. It didn't feel like a safe area at all, and I later learned it wasn't. On the way home from this park outside The Little Black store I even literally saw the man who had stolen my amazon packages the day before, in plain sight and not apprehended by police. Very dangerous area.
