Well, we got that and so much more! The teachers at HudsonWay are irreplaceable. Their Spanish teachers are all native speakers from different countries and they each bring a warmth and special touch unique to their cultures. Their English and Math teachers are top notch. Because of the smaller class sizes, the teachers are able to provide a much more individualized approach to teaching and provide each student with what they need. They are also always available and happy to connect with parents. My kids have really enjoyed the engaging activities, projects and presentations which increase in complexity and rigor each grade level. As a parent, I too have enjoyed them, as we are invited in to see presentations and projects multiple times throughout the year. The community is tight knit and the parent board is very active in providing additional activities and experiences for the students and families. HudsonWay is comprised of families from all different backgrounds and walks of life, but at the same time, there is a common thread that runs through the community which is valuing language and learning. This makes HudsonWay a unique and special place; we are a diverse group in so many ways with a common cause bringing us together. Although my kids are in the Spanish program, they have friends in the Mandarin program as well as they are together for English, Art, Music, Phys Ed and more. While waiting for opening day our son attended a different preschool and as kids will do, he picked up some negative behaviors and began saying he did not like school or learning. This was obviously very upsetting for all of us. However, within just a few weeks at Goddard we noticed a huge difference in him. He now loves school and we no longer have morning struggles and tears. He runs into the classroom each morning with excitement. He is always coming home with fun artwork and projects. I love that they are very fun centered but also manage to teach the kids the essentials. M is always telling me all about their fun activities. He also stays for lunch class with Mrs. Marsh, and although he doesn't love eating lunch at school, he adores his Lunch Teacher and her helper. We've really enjoyed our experience with the Learning Experience so far! Our son joined at 3.5…read moremonths and has had a great experience at TLE the past year. The caregivers in the infant rooms have been amazing my son loves them! They have really gotten to know our son and have done an amazing job caring for him. I love that they update you all day on the app so you can see their schedule and how they're progressing. They do a great job sticking to our schedule. If there's ever an issue, they call right away and let you know! Management has also changed in the past year (2 people had turned over in the time we started) and the past few months have been great. I love the management in there now! They also do a great job with different activities and arts and crafts at the school. They've done tons of different theme weeks, decorations, quarterly fun fairs and more interactive elements for the kids which has been cute! The only improvements I'd like to see is more so in the afternoon pick up time. I've seen a lot of the care givers switching rooms at pick up time (so I may not recognize the teacher in there) and sometimes the kids to teacher ratio is off at the end of the day.

I'll start with what is good about this place (not much). The lead teachers genuinely care about the children and put a lot into their care. The staff also take the time to know the kids' names. I only wish the management and staff put a fraction of that effort into their relations with the parents. They do not. If you ask questions or raise any issues, the management is immediately defensive, dismissive, and do not take the time to consider their clients' concerns. Not one bit! Are the parents not the customers? Don't you believe you should invest in building trust and transparency with parents? Not close to the customer comes first. Not by a long shot. Our child (age 3) had an incident where she hit her head. My wife was told by the manager that our daughter is clumsy, and she has seen her being clumsy. She is 3! Aren't they called toddlers? When she hit her head, a report was filed. At pick up, I was told to "just sign the report" as the person at the desk was on the phone. When in the classroom, I inquired about what happened and was told "we have no idea. It was with the morning teacher. You can just ask her tomorrow". What? The afternoon was like a revolving door with different junior staff covering, as the lead teacher left before 3 PM. They never greeted you when you came to pick-up. New faces never introduced themselves as "my name is and I'm covering for..." Never! They would say "Annie, your dad is here" and then return to what they were doing. This included either cleaning the room during school hours or uploading photos to their App on an iPad, not teaching or working with the kids. When our daughter started, they had no nametag for her place at the table. This went on for almost a month before we brought it up and they dismissively tried to tell us that they were "ruined" and required new ones. She never had one. More excuses! Then, they made one and her name was MISSPELLED! They are "teaching" her spelling, but they can't spell her first name. It was never fixed. The curriculum is entirely vague and we never received learning packets, progress reports, or any written updates on learning. If you do want your kid to sit in front of a screen and learn solely from a cartoon elephant, this is an expensive place where you can do just that. Go ahead, they are more than happy to take your money! In fact, that was their primary focus. Communication with parents is abysmal! Our daughter's lead teacher, the single element of consistency in this whole place, decided to leave and nothing was communicated to the parents. No phone call. No email. No communication of "since we are losing Ms. X, Ms. Y will be filling in for the rest of summer". ZERO! Complete reliance on technology. Zero professional communication skills. Honesty and trust are paramount with this dynamic. We got neither!

The class is so fun and the songs so catchy. Each semester includes a new CD with songs from class and we listen to them at home all the time. I REALLY appreciate that they aren't your typical cliche kid songs, they are cool enough that I find myself humming them all the time. It has been wonderful to watch him gain love and appreciation for music and instruments. He went through a drumming phase and requested a guitar for his 3rd birthday. They both have strong education backgrounds, and have been at LHMS for 5 + years, and recently bought the school from the sorta shady guy that previously owned the school. The school is set up in 2 large classrooms - the Acorn Room is set up for the the 2.5 y/os - 3 yr/0, and the Oak Room is for the 3-6 yr olds. It's a nice set up so the super young kids don't feel overwhelmed by the older kids, and the older kids have a sense of accomplishment moving on to the Big Room . There is a pretty nice, mulched playground out back for the kids can burn off some energy during the day. I knew nothing of the Montessori system when my first child started there, but it's really kinda cool. The students are given a lot of autonomy for such a young age -- they are gently guided through age-appropriate tasks & lessons, where they work independently or in small groups. Not only are they learning counting, letters, shapes, sizes etc--- the things you'd expect your kids to learn in preschool, but they are also learning to self-motivate, work independently and work in small groups --- all great life lessons. My older 2 children are thriving in public school in great part to the skills, confidence, independence and education they gathered at Long Hill Montessori. I highly recommend this school !

She started out in the Acorn room with the schools' youngest students, and like many of her peers, she was weary to leave her mommy at three years old. Her teachers showed her such compassion and patience that within a matter of days she was eager to get through the gate in the mornings and excited to tell me about her day when I came to pick her up each afternoon. Over the course of the three years she was enrolled in LHMS, our entire family noticed such a change in her! She went from clinging to my legs at family gatherings to confidently looking adults in the eye and playing with other children. I remember how quickly she learned the alphabet, the sounds each letter makes, counting, cultures from around the world, the environment, animals and their habitats - I mean, you name it - and I am so grateful for that strong foundation because she now does her homework with such ease, making the whole school experience so much more pleasant! My youngest child is now in the Acorn room and absolutely loves it! The teachers have a way of making school so fun, that he went from crying every morning to literally running to get in the car to see them. It's the personal touches - the way they patiently help him settle down to nap, the way they brush off an accident instead of dwelling or shaming, they even personalize the school's annual fundraiser so parents have an idea of which gifts would be best suited for their child in particular. A couple times I had some disciplinary issues and they took the time to help guide me through my kids' changing emotions, giving me advice and listening to concerns; I truly consider them like a co-parent! You can tell that the staff at LHMS really love what they do, they genuinely care for the kids, they're not just supervising them or teaching them, they're caring for them in a holistic way. Each day they're offered healthy snacks, guided through the work to make sure they're on track academically, and given the affection and attention each individual kid needs, and believe me, my kids can be a handful, they demand a LOT of attention! I trust them with my most precious little ones, and endorse them whole-heartedly!
