Do not hire Unique Movers, my experience was horrible and caused me delays and extra expense in hiring another mover, delays in my leaving with a Uhaul for my out of state move to Alaska from Minnesota. I needed them to load a 10X20 storage unit into a 26 foot long Uhaul truck, on Aug 26, 2025. The plan was to load the storage unit and then go to my apt and load minimal things from the apt and garage. They arrived about an hour late meeting me at the storage property. They moved very quickly, but with no regard as to what they were loading. My daughter and I had to watch everything they handled and constantly recall my ammo boxes and long gun cases. I had clearly indicated they needed to be kept in the rear of the truck because I had to declare them at the US and Canadian borders. One crate of ammo was for a handgun that was already in Alaska, and that got loaded and packed in the 'attic' of the truck, buried in boxes of other things. If my truck had been searched by the Canadian Agents I could have been denied entry into Canada or even arrested. Luckily it was found by the movers I had to hire to fix the mess in truck. Other than the guns and ammo, I was ridiculed and demeaned by Joe, the lead mover, for not having Uhaul blankets or ratchet straps to secure the load, and was compared to other people being prepared for out of state moves better than me. ( I have moved cross country several times in my 73 years). And through all that, they could NOT fit a 10X20 storage unit into a 26 foot Uhaul. They got it in there, but it was haphazard, with no room to spare for my things from the apt and garage(which again were minimal). I paid them(which took a long time) and let them go, there was no way I was going to have them move anything more and try to put it in that mess in the truck. I do believe I was over charged at $200/hr when I was quoted $160/hr, but I did not receive a receipt in my email or per text. I paid $748.80, I only want half in a refund, all of it would be better, but they did empty the storage unit. After getting settled in Alaska I sent them a message on Sept 11, on their website requesting to be refunded half of what I paid them, Conner did call on Sept 14, said he'd talk to Joe, but never called me back.. I sent a text message to Conner's # on Sept 22 after he had told me they would be mailing the refund. I sent a second request on Sept 26, as a request for service on their website and Conner called me. He said he would talk to Joe and get back to me. Once again he did not get back to me. At some point I did speak to him on the phone and he said he would mail a check. I waited and I sent another text on Oct 16 to let him know I had not received my refund yet, and being the owner of the company he should honor his word. Then I got a text from Crystal in the office saying she could help me. I explained why I wanted a half refund and we text messaged on and off until Nov17. At that time I asked for Conner to call me and resolve the issue, that I felt I was being strung along, and I was prepared to leave a review on every review site I could fine. He has not called me. I started with the BBB, but unique movers is not a member. So here I am. Don't hire them, their review rating is not good and I did not not pay attention to that. Connor looked at what we needed him to move to Florida and said it will be $6,000. Later, after he was paid, he said that he couldn't get it all on a single load because part of his trailer was filled with someone else's stuff going to Florida, but that he'd get the rest of our stuff on his next load. When that time came, he charged an additional $1,200. When that load got to Florida, some of our stuff was still left behind. Now he wants another $2,000 to bring that down. I'm not sure what kind of scam this shady guy is running, but I'd steer clear of Unique Movers unless you like getting ripped off. read more

This place would be FANTASTIC if you have someone in your life that you hate! Their furniture is guaranteed to be smashed to bits by the time it reaches its final destination AND the walls can be ruined to match! None of my 75 gallon or 200 gallon fish tanks hold water anymore, just great! Even better! They LEFT THE DOOR OF THE PROPERTY OFF ITS HINGES for anyone to wander inside! Thank goodness our neighbors called us that night to tell us the place was left wide open! AND they took the hardware with them! Not only THAT, but they quoted us $3,000 for the job which was close to the budget we had planned for, but they ended up charging us $8,000 for ruining every piece of furniture we own! This is nowhere near "incidentals" and plain gross negligence. If I wasn't 7 months pregnant, we'd have just done it all ourselves in the same amount of time it took them and nowhere near the casualties! Would be awesome if anyone would return my calls to speak with a manager, but judging by the quality of work? Doubtful anyone actually cares once the check clears. read more

Absolutely DO NOT use this company. Their crew was ill-prepared for the job for which they were hired. Not to mention that they just conveniently throw in a 'trip fee' that isn't disclosed in the quote. Communication was absolutely terrible. I asked 3 days in a row for a quote, finally I get a "quote" the 3rd day, $180 an hour for the 2 movers I'll get. They showed up with what looked like a 16 year old for a 3rd guy, figured he was training since I was told I was getting 2 guys. Took them 1.5 hours total, you'd think $270 right? $180x1.5 is $270. Of course I'd tip generously too. But no, their math wasn't mathing and somehow came to $480?! Get your crap together! read more

So what was one of the worst days of my life was turned around by Connor and his crew. I was in a horrible situation and needed help that day with moving everything I Own out of my place. I called Connor explained my situation and he said his movers would be there in an hour in which they were. Not only did they show up but I got a much needed hug and so much help from Tristin, he was kind and caring and listened to me Connor set up my storage since I didn't have a clue where my things were going and the guys brought everything there for me - I couldn't go with but they handled it. I think that was the fastest everything was ever moved for me. My last move took a week and a 1/2 - I will never move my own things again but this time I'll be packed. Lack of communication, regarding details, made for a disappointing moving day. I contacted Unique movers a couple months prior to our move and received confirmation that they would show up between 8 - 8:30 a.m. One month prior to the move I contacted them again to verify the date and time. Once again they said we were all set. Several days before the move, we verified the date and time once again. Again, I emphasized that the moving was from WINONA to St. Joseph. Time was confirmed for 8 - 8:30 am. On the Friday afternoon (at 5:30 pm) before the move on the upcoming Monday morning, they finally texted me to get details regarding the move. Once again, I received a confirmation of 8 - 8:30 am. Monday morning rolled around and they called me at about 7:35 am saying that they were getting ready to leave for Winona (3.5 hours away). In other words, their 8 - 8:30 arrival time actually became 11:30 am. The 4 guys doing the move were great but they office/scheduling department does not communicate well. If you want to be inundated with SPAM from their web-based contact form and then be ignored, by all means, try to contact them. I filled out their "Contact Us" form on their website and within 30 min I was besieged with SPAM, some 20-30 a day that still continues. They told me to phone them, I did, only to be told to text them at their number. I did. I'm requesting a move out of state and to also move a vehicle. No reply after more than a week. They arrived 7 hours late and charged me $300 over original quote. Causing further anxiety for wife with recently acquired brain injury (the reason for move). On the up-side the 26 foot trailer was brand new and the crew was personable and eager to work. They sent additional help that night to unload at the destination that further added to the chaos of getting furniture & boxes to the right rooms. Unique Movers moved us from a 4000+ sq ft home to an 1100 sq ft apartment and storage shed. It was a ton of work and required organization and communication. Best money we've spent in a long time. We looked at it as an investment in our health because we didn't want to get injured lifting heavy items and wanted some of the stress taken off us. Also, we wanted the job done in one day. Unique Movers did all the heavy lifting and a little bit of packing for us and they did it in what I think is record time, 1/2 a day. They did a nice job and I would definitely recommend them to anyone. read more
