Arrival area was... how do I say this... welp. It needs help…read more There was really nothing impressive about it. Two things stood out to me immediately: there were TONS of areas caked with dust and cobwebs in many (albeit unreachable) corners. Hubbers and I came through on a layover. The airline asked us to check on our bags to make sure it's transferred to our next flight. (I guess they don't do transfers between plane.) One cool thing here, though, is they have staff minding the tags and they pull them out for you. After confirming our bags were on their way to the next flight, Hubbers and I made our way out, just to get back in to our assigned gate. Departures is a whole different story. It's like night and day. Everything was spotless, the entire area was modern and lively, just basically the vibe was much MUCH better. It's almost like the arrival area came off like a mistreated stepchild. So, yeah... don't expect too much at the arrivals. But they make up for it at the departure area...

Once my buddy dropped me off, I proceeded to check in my bags and get my boarding pass. I spent a few minutes at the Starbucks here, before proceeding through security and toward my gate. This terminal has plenty of shops and brands from back home, but I almost never shop at airports unless there is a dire need. If you are in need of sunglasses or travel accessories, then fret no more, you can find them here. I stopped by to eat the Wings, which is a diner commonly found at airports throughout Mexico. More info on this chain in another review. My time at this airport en route home was great. It was the cherry on top to my outstanding vacation in Nuevo Leon.

The ONLY thing Hubbers and I had trouble with was figuring out how to get from one terminal to another. There were no obvious signs or maps... eventually we saw the sign on the stairs, and so off we went. It's the first area where everyone goes through before proceeding to Terminals B and C. Lots of familiar places including Starbucks and Carl's Jr. There are also shops for tech, souvenirs and a couple of sit-down table service spots. There are also plenty of chairs for passengers waiting on their flights. (I read a review saying there was no place to sit other than the floor - glad that's been resolved.) I feel like the whole area/setup is temporary, and that there are plans to improve its overall look. It'll be a long minute before I come through again, but here's hoping to see that change (for the better) in the future.

He also could not provide that unless we purchase plane tickets through his company. I found better deals on planes somewhere else so that was not going to work for me. I guess if you are flexible with your time? And don't care about making good savings on your trips this could be good for you. Personally my time is limited and have no flexibility with it. I am always in the hunt for great deal and vacancy promise that but don't deliver it. I also tried to book a cruise for my son's senior trip. Their prices were more expensive . They told me "it is because we don't have that many conexion with cruises? The real saves are in the hotels. I just got an annual charge for $100 . A charge I will Be getting annually for the next 30 yrs. Canceling the membership means I have to pay them more money for that. I have use their services twice and both times was a nightmare. I only save for those 2 times $40 . I lost $5000 in a membership, annual $100 fee and Enrique Chapa refuses to fix the mess he got me into. Calling vacancy reward directly and they keep telling me I have to fix it with him. How am I supposed to do that if he is bidding. He knows he lied to me and he gets offended every-time I call him out on it. Run away truly. Looking for a law suit against him for fraud might not even be possible. This resort, along with having an absolute beauty if a view directly outside of it, was great…read more Check in is as easy as it can get. You walk into the office, tell them your name and who you are grouped together with, and then set up your tents. The office is open up until 9pm, and opens very early as well. The service was incredible and very personable. I talked to many staff members and all of them had stories to tell and were interested in the people in the resort. They also tried their best to learn as much English as they could. The food served was delicious and decently priced as well. Occasionally it would take a little bit to come out, but it was worth it for the food. The menu is normally sized for a resort, with ranges of Mexican food along with some American. The drink menu was decently big as well, with many options that were cheap and worth the buck. A popular drink there is the large margarita, which is 33oz and 160 pesos (8 usd). There is many things to do at the resort, one of them being the pool. A negative aspect about it is that the water is always freezing cold. This is a negative when you want to enjoy a relaxing swim, but it turns into a positive when you have just climbed, hiked, or baked in the sun all day and you can jump right in and come right out. It feels like a reset on the brain from all the cold water. The setup near the pool was nice, with some outdoor outlets, many seats, and hammocks that laid just above the water. I spent many hours relaxing by the water, looking at the mountains. There were many accomodies that came with the resort. It was 200 pesos for them to wash, dry, and fold any laundry you had. There was a full kitchen, with many stoves, fridges, and lockers to store things. There were also bins in which you could store food. This gives a cheaper option to the resort foot. The second floor of the kitchen had a lounge area. This came with a TV with Netflix, tables and chairs, and an outdoor patio with a telescope. A problem I had with the resort was that the entrance could sometimes bottom out your car if it is a shorter sedan, but that isn't the fault of the resort as much as it is Mexican infrastructure. The bathroom situation was interesting. For one, it always smelled terrible in the span of 50ft around it. This is a public resort bathroom, so its expected to be gross, so it wasn't really a huge problem, as I knew it would be an issue. Animals are welcome in the resort, and there are many many animals that are in the resort. Overall, this resort was great. I stayed here for a week and it was amazing. If you plan on coming to EPC I would suggest La Posada.
