For starters, the facility is clean and inviting, but the staff and teachers make this place go round. Jade and Tarika are incredible directors. They are always available for a chat - about both good things and concerns - and take the time to get to know each child. They are also extremely vigilant about when a child might be sick, which I appreciate. Additionally, they are responsive via email. I know that if I have a quick question, they are ready, willing and able to help. Lastly, our son loves his teacher, Miss Gia! He has never cried once when we drop him off and a huge smile comes onto his face when we walk into his room! The kids are kept busy (we love the art projects that come home!) and are cared for well. All of the teachers there have really impressed me. Now really the last thing - there's an app that we follow along with each day. It logs everything that is going on with our child, which for a parent, is a god-send. And there are cute pictures sent throughout the day. From the greeting till end of school Liberty Montessori is a wonderful experience. The teachers and assistants are warm and go at the pace of the students, encouraging those ahead to go further and those taking more time to continue and succeed. They teach many languages. In just a few months my 3 year old learned counting, alphabet and phonics, days of the week, seasons and more. As far as languages she learned to count to seven and colors in English, French, Spanish, Japanese and German and colors in the same. She even learned some Mandarin. Teachers helped her learn life skills such as putting on clothes and respect for fellow students. The space is beautiful and intimate without being crowded. There is a playground on site and ball pit for when the weather is cold. It is child centric with small toilets etc. The school is very welcoming to parents AND grandparents. It is also very very safety conscious not sharing photos or information on students. Students and parents come from around the world and diverse backgrounds.

We were very excited about Hudson Country Montessori School but left deeply disappointed in the…read moreteachers' and administration's tolerance of discriminatory and bigoted language used in the classroom including during class discussions. We raised concerns to the teachers and administration about a pattern of homophobic, racist, and anti-immigrant language being used at school including, at times, during classroom discussions in front of the teachers and were told that the classroom includes students with "differing beliefs" and that our child, who raised objections in some of these instances, needed to be coached at home to tolerate this discriminatory language at school in order to avoid conflict with classmates. We repeatedly explained that our concern was that the language being used in class was not a case of "differing beliefs" but bigoted and discriminatory language that specifically targeted protected groups based on race, religion, immigration status, and identity and that allowing it to continue created a hostile and toxic environment for students from any of those groups. To this, we were told directly and in writing by the head of school, "If every classroom moment is interpreted through the lens of potential third-party offense, classrooms can quickly become places of controversy rather than learning." We decided to withdraw our child's enrollment in the middle of the school year because, after this response from the head of school, the behavior continued in the classroom and we no longer felt it was a safe environment. If your child or family is part of any historically marginalized group, we would not recommend this school. They are able to speak very eloquently about their commitment to diversity and their mission to ensure that no student is targeted, excluded, or harmed based on race, religion, or identity -- but when it comes time to demonstrate that commitment they fall very, very short.

After spending 2 years in another Pre-K3 and Pre-K4 program, we sent our daughter to Hudson for…read morekindergarten. So far, she loves it and is thriving. We are also seeing positive behavioral changes with her at home. After only two months in the program, she is speaking about and demonstrating more physical organization. She is getting individuated attention for reading and math, which we love. She continues to be passionate about learning, and there is really nothing better! Being one of the older students in the classroom, she is also learning about leadership, and taking that home to model behavior for her younger sister as well. We are thrilled!

We are so thankful we made the choice to send her to NRDN. From the start, our daughter always told us how much she loved it there and how much she loved her teachers and her friends from class. In Ms. Allison and Ms. Shante's class, her social-emotional learning and academic development were nurtured in a way that produced results that we could see at home. They are both truly gifted educators and foster a Pre-K environment that teaches students how to be part of a team, while thriving as individuals. In 3-K, our daughter attended Ms. Twana and Ms. Silvana's class. She had an amazing time, learned so much, and we were so impressed with what she accomplished. She built such a strong foundation. The admin team that runs the facility, Ms. Sabrina, Ms. Dawn, and Ms. Karin are excellent and it is apparent that they take great care in the service they provide to their students and families. As our daughter heads to kindergarten, we are more at ease because we know she is prepared. NRDN has had a large hand in that. It is a special place, staffed with wonderful educators and staff.

Both my son and my daughter have received an excellent and safe education here at Ivy Prep in the Bronx. When my child was interviewed for kindergarten, we were told that she is well prepared and will be ahead of her peers with the education and preparation she has received here. My son began his journey with services like OT; PT and SEIT at Ivy prep. They were able to accommodate his service providers within their building and my child was able to receive all of the support he needed. In the Throggs Neck community it is wonderful to have a place like Ivy Prep to prepare your children for a bright and productive future! Highly recommend!!

I expect my child to get sick (which is nobody's fault) but she was out for 1.5 weeks and the only time the director reached out to me was to ask for payment, not a concern or knowledge that my daughter was out for so long. COVID came along, the owner/directly withheld money from our tuition as cleaning fees and credit. I really did not want to go back but covid was a mess to find new daycares so I let both my children go for the summer to utilize the credit that she withheld from me. They leave their school bags outside in the sun before pick up time, a possible "rodent" or animal chewed through my daughter's bag (I don't care about the bag but it's kinda gross to have rodents crawling my children's belongings) but according to the owner, it's impossible. So it must have been either my pet goldfishes or 3 year old son who chewed it out...since it was "impossible"to have rodents outside their building. Friday was pizza day. I gave pizza money but they miscommunicated somehow and didn't feed my daughter. When I tried to talk to the owner, she put her hand in my face and told me "it would never happen again and I had to drop it". Even if I had forgotten to pay, would it be so terrible to feed a child with the half slice of pizza you ordered if she did not have anything to eat? In the beginning of the summer, the teacher told me my son had an accident in his pants, fine, whatever, it happens with kids. Two months later, they returned a bag of soiled clothes to me. It would have been better if they just tossed it. Send in labeled lip balm and sun screen they say, it will be applied if they go out later in the day. Forget it, by the end of the summer, all my sunscreens were brand new. There were many great teachers that worked here but most have left. It's a beautiful new and clean place with lots of potential to be great, unfortunately, when you only look at $ and not use your heart to care for the children that parents trust you with, it will show right through. I spent a few seasons here because I really wanted to like it, all the parents including myself were ultimately disappointed in the management of this daycare.

(Which can be found on the office child and family services website https://ocfs.ny.gov/programs/childcare/looking/ccfs-search.php) Also the director of this place Janice is quite arrogant- during our virtual visit she practically told me to throw my sons routine out the window because it would never be followed in her daycare. And she also said it was "weird" that I asked her if they have cameras that families can use to check in on their babies during the day. This was a deal breaker for us we chose another facility who was willing to be transparent with you. transparency is so important when you are dealing with infant parents.
