She made me pay $14 for a new (small, mind you) package and label, and then didn't scan my QR code, after telling me "people who use Depop do this all the time," when I knew they didn't so idk why I listened to her, but now I may not get paid for the item because Depop can't register that it was shipped! If she was so familiar with the process why did she do all that? So frustrating and disappointing that I had to pay to basically give away a pair of flats. I can back up every single negative review that has been previously posted. I have been here multiple times shortly after they should have been opened and they were not. In addition when I went in earlier today, shortly after they opened, to drop off a prepaid package, the clerk, was incredibly rude and acted like they had no interest being there. Her name was Shay and I heard her treating the customer before and after me rudely. She is the reason I will not go back to the this USPS and avoid using USPS whenever possible. Adding to this nightmarish location, my father is retired USPS (More than 30 years service) and he would be devastated to hear how poorly managed this post office is. This was a utilitarian visit to mail a few letters. The parking lot is adequate and provides good sized parking spaces. There's also a passport processing office located here but it's accessed via a different entrance at the rear of the building, not the side door at the top of the stairs.. The facility is very clean, and in these pandemic times, instructions for social distancing and face coverings are very clear. There are guide markers on the floor to help establish your social distance. The postal representative was professional, efficient, and pleasant. My transaction was completed very quickly and I was out and on my way again after a small wait. read more

I was there on Friday afternoon. The mail I've been expecting is still not in my PO BOX. I went back at 3:30 and they had closed. I called and called u til someone picked up and said she went to lunch. Well this isn't true bc the doors to the post office were locked; both entrances. I sat there and waited and waited and the young lady didn't come back. I saw 3 other people walk up to discover the doors were locked as well. The company that sent my mail over a month ago sent it to the correct address. It has been verified that they did. Still have not received that mail nor another piece of mail which was mailed 2 weeks ago from a local company. THIS IS ABSOLUTELY ridiculous. Where is my mail going. I spoke with Ms Black twice. Who as always is nice and gracious however, Like seriously why am I not receiving my mail. Price has gone up; this location is an inconvenience and service sucks. Today, April 15 they were putting up the signs on the new Midtown Post Office. The old on West Peachtree has been closed for demolition, and a new High Rise. The official address is 1075 Peachtree St NE Suite 6, Atlanta GA 30309. You wont see it though from Peachtree St, It is on the complete opposite (back) side of the building. If you know where Einstein's was for year, its right across the street and really is on Juniper but since the building has a Peachtree St...so it goes. The only parking is a garage entry on 12th between Juniper and Peachtree. Its a pay lot but I heard they validate for 30 min. At the old location you could easily wait longer than that, so if it goes over I hear the charge is then $3.00 Today I went inside. Door also is on Juniper. There is one slot only and at this time it says Priority Mail Only. I kept looking for more slots and there were not others. Maybe they are yet to come. The one and ONLY window clerk said just put everything into that Priority slot for now. They did not let any customers know of where they went. Would have been nice. Maybe if you had a PO box there they gave you a notice but residents heard nothing. This is NOT even on the USPS website yet. The old location has been closed for some time. Hours are the same as the old location. 9:00-5:00 Mon-Fri only. Would be nice if they could put in a self service machine but the old one did not have one so ??? The US Passport facility in back was really something special! We had 2 passport offices for some time...one downtown on Peachtree and this in Midtown...maybe 1 mile apart! My gosh, if there was a way to give the US post office, negative stars I would. I have never ever had so much trouble trying to get to a post office to get mail. The parking is terrible. The customer service is atrocious!!!!! and they are never open. Every time I'm here, if they are actually open, the line is out the door. UGH! I held out on reviewing this post office forever, mostly because I love the convenience of walking here and every post office is pretty bad anyway. But my experience today justifies my terrible rating. All other visits were probably 2 stars. I walk in, and there's no line. Awesome! I know I need a shipping label so I'm looking around...looking around...I'm not seeing what I need (usually it's on the main table that kind of corrals the line). Finally I pick up a certified mailing label, because that's what I've done in the past. Fill it out, and bring it to the clerk. Here is how the conversation should have gone: Clerk: "How can I help you?" Me: "I'd like to ship this ground. Here's my certified mailing form." Clerk: "Okay, I see you don't have a shipping label. We have some available on the wall behind you." Me: "Ahh...I'm an idiot. Thanks!" Instead here's how it went: *hands clerk certified mailing form and package* Clerk: *shocked, confused look on face* "Umm.... I don't...I don't understand what you want." Me: "...I'm just looking to ship this ground." Clerk: "Ummm.. okaaaaaaay....you need an address." Me: "Yeah, I wrote it on the form there." Clerk: "ahhhh....yeahhh... except you need to write it on the package. That's how mail WORKS." Me: *shocked* "Ooookay. Well firstly there's no need for attitude. Secondly I thought they usually they take the address from the form and print a label." Clerk: "Um, no. That's not how mail works. YOU have to write the address on the package. We don't do that for you. And I'm not giving you attitude, I'm just telling you how mail works." Me: "....okay. Whatever. Do you have a label I can write the address on?" Clerk: (in a "OBVIOUSLY!" tone) "Yeah, see the wall that says "Shipping Supplies"? Over there." ................................ Seriously!??! With no one in front of or behind me in the line, there was no need to be so rude. She could have been really nice about it but instead took an elitist tone, as if I have never sent mail before. I know you're a government worker, but you don't need to pass on your unhappiness to everyone else. When I got my label filled out and back in line, she informed me that I needed to write my return address on the label. As I was writing she said in the most condescending tone, "So in the United States, all mail has to have a return address. It's how mail works." I. Almost. Lost. It. USPS, if you are listening, can we PLEASE, pretty please, get an automated postal system (the kiosk) in this location?? Be prepared to wait. And wait. And wait some more. And then, if you're really lucky, you might get the "stamp Nazi" of postal workers. This gentleman is all about efficiency, so you had better be prepared and know exactly what it is you want, or he will do his best to humiliate you in front of the poor souls still behind you in line. I got him to smile once, though, during the busy holiday season. I'm still grateful for that little victory. The best times to go are off-peak hours. I've found that between 1:30 - 3:00 PM, the lines are the shortest, the attitudes less hostile. The last several times I've had to stop in to purchase stamps, my average wait time has been less than five minutes. That's a personal best. But I still cringe when I get that little orange note in my condo mailbox, knowing I'll have to journey out and brave the midtown post office. read more

This review is for the U.S. Postal Service's Midtown location on West Peachtree between 10th St. and 14th St. I had to mail some important/sensitive documents, so I decided to send via Certified Mail with Return Receipt. Normally, I'd go to a UPS Store to do this, but I decided to try out this USPS location on a whim. It took me 15+ years of living in Midtown to finally step foot inside this place. I was always curious what it looked like inside and what I saw did not surprise me. The multiple one and two-star reviews don't surprise me either. This place is old and outdated. It smells like an old library. The look and smell remind me of the 1980s. I actually don't mind it. It's interesting, like taking a step back in time. The office is divided into two sections: (1) a front section with a copier, "SelfService" station with drop-off slots for stamped, priority, and express mail, and post office boxes and (2) a back section with post office employees, package pick-up, and stamps, labels, and shipping supplies (e.g. large envelopes, boxes, packaging, padding) for sale. The atmosphere is much like a DMV. You get the sense most people don't want to be here, particularly some of the employees, but what do you expect from a government office? Other Yelpers have mentioned the poor attitudes of employees and I can confirm they do exist here. However, there was one really nice and pleasant employee too ("Clerk #09," I'm talking about you). When I arrived on a weekday, early to mid-morning, Clerk #09 was the only one dutifully assisting customers in line. From the 15-20 minutes I was there, a steady stream of customers entered the room and the single-file line maintained at about 6-8 people deep. When the line reached about 10 people, a second employee came out from the back. She lethargically made her way to one of the 4-5 computer stations, definitely looking like she did not want to be at work that day. At least staff recognized Clerk #09 needed some help. Luckily, I was seen by Clerk #09 who weighed my large envelope at 3.90 ounces. The costs to mail my documents were $1.61 for First-Class Mail plus $3.30 for Certified Mail plus $2.70 for Return Receipt. The total was $7.61. The UPS Store typically charges a couple dollars more, so I was happy with the price. Going to the post office can save you money. I was able to pay by credit card. The receipt that printed out was clear and easy to read, chock full of information including itemized costs, the Certified Mail ID number, and expected delivery date. As I was checking out, a third employee came out from the back to open up another "lane" to assist customers. I overheard a fellow customer inquire about applying for a passport. He was told the Midtown post office no longer provides passport services and was instructed to call a number on a sign posted to the wall and make an appointment. The customer walked over to the sign, pulled out his phone, and began to take a picture of the sign so he could save the phone number he was instructed by staff to call. As soon as he framed his shot, the third employee said in an elevated voice with a rude, condescending tone: "NO PICTURES! NO PICTURES! THIS IS GOVERNMENT PROPERTY! YOU CAN'T TAKE PICTURES!" Almost everyone in the room saw this unfold were taken aback. I'm sure we all had the same thought: "Really? Seriously?" All I could do was shake my head. I could tell Clerk #09 was thinking the same thing, but the third employee was probably her boss so she tried not to be expressive. They should work on their customer service. Please bring your patience! I do understand that things are operating differently due to COVID....but not being able to get a box so we can pack our items is ridiculous. The staff wants customers to wait in a line of 10-12 people JUST to grab a priority envelope! I Normally don't do the survey on the receipt if I have a negative experience because I don't want to get anyone in trouble, but today was unacceptable. Seriously, I hate this place. It is hands down one of the most incompetent places I have ever encountered. They've been my local post office for 5 years, and I have hated every minute of it. They lose stuff, don't deliver packages, are insanely slow, and demonstrate total apathy to customer service and doing the bare minimum of their jobs. Whenever I realize I have to visit this location, I cringe. I actually had a supervisor tell me today that the USPS informed delivery service doesn't show packages (after he insisted a package had been delivered to me while the shipper status shows the package available for pickup at the post office and informed delivery NOT showing the package had been delivered). Even after I SHOWED him the list of packages that have been delivered and are in process for delivery via USPS's informed delivery, he said, "That's not informed delivery." I said, "What does that URL say? It says 'Informed Delivery.'" He just stood there and looked at me blankly. I asked him how to file a claim for the package THEY lost, and he told me they don't allow you to file claims on international packages and to contact the shipper. I HATE THEM. By the way, this is the norm, NOT the exception. The number of times I have encountered this near-identical scenario, well, I can't even count them. I recently got married, and this is now my husband's post office, too. He receives packages from family and work from a different state almost weekly, and half the time his packages don't get delivered, so he has to go over there a couple times a month. So my certified mail went passed me and no one can seem to give me any answers it has departed from the same facility 3 time and always say in transit to next d destination only to be scanned at the same distribution center in North Atlanta metro.. honestly it get scanned around same time everyday it seems fishy I'm to the point I'm thinking it's an inside job.. There are always several people working there but they are all in the back and you can hear them laughing at the game they play: who can work the slowest. The worst time to come here is 2-3:30. This post office isn't really different than any other USPS location. Can you expect top-notch customer service? Probably not, but they get the job done. Can you expect the line to move quickly? Probably not, but it's not unreasonable. As much as you want your visit to be a very quick in-and-out, it probably won't be. On the positive side of things, they have a nice central location in the Midtown area. Despite the prime location, there is also plenty of parking if you're driving. They are usually stocked with envelops, boxes, and shipping material if you need it. So bring your packages, a phone to kill a little time - and the pain will be over quickly. read more

They are the rusest, laziest most inept post office!! I can not even believe that they get paid what they do with benefits. For 6 months our mail Carrier was not delivering our mail and throwing all our mail and checks away for our medical practice (never even showed up!). When I called a supervisor to complain about it they told me what do I expect them to do? The mail carrier was never reprimanded, got to keep her job and they just moved her to another sad business where she did the same thing. 10 businesses complained about this and it's still going on today! I never know when we are going to receive our business mail and when we are not. I have had numerous phone calls from companies stating that their mail to us has been returned to them for "wrong address" even though the address is a 100% correct!!!! We have lost thiusands of dollars due to this!!! I went to this Post Office at 4;59 o'clock p.m. (They close at 5) and I wanted to give them mail that was already stamped, however I did not have a pen to put my return a dress. They refused to give me a pen and they refused to take my mail. Mind you..they as so slow, i was already there 2 times same day but each tine the wait was soooooo u unusually long i had to leave and come back. Dont trust your mail workers here! However, i went back to the post office and got a refund because the packaging I got was guaranteed to be delivered the next day. Easy process. This PO is not my fave, but it's not the worst. My problem with this location is that they will not accept any prepaid labels that do not have that day's date on them. I've attempted to ship packages twice that didn't have that day's date on them and was turned away and told to reprint the labels.
