Since 1840, this small historic government facility has been delivering mail and friendly service to folks near and far! It was pretty well stocked and tidy. I love the simple white building, and the old brass mailboxes inside, however, it certainly could use a coat of paint. Inside the walls were cracked and splotchy. With a bit of TLC, this post office could be 5*****! The hours on the post office website are different from the ones posted on the door. Here are the updated hours: M-F 10:00-1:00, 2:00-5:00 Sat 8:30-12:30

I had a…read morepackage coming today ( I signed up for email updates on my packages status on the usps website) and they attempted to deliver it when I wasn't home. Since it required a signature they did not leave it, and I was notified by email giving me an option to pick it up or reschedule my delivery. Once I saw this I called the post office and this woman answered the phone. I explained I missed the package and she rudely told me the carrier wasn't back without letting me finish. I told her I wanted to pick it up later then she asked my address discovering the carrier was there and said "well he rang your bell and knocked but you didn't answer, what do you want us to do?" Duh! I'm not home, I explained this again and told her I wanted to pick it up later and she said that was fine. Fast forward to 4:30 when I arrived there from work, same lady comes to the counter and I tell her I called earlier and I needed to get my package since I missed my delivery. She rudely tells me again it ain't there, none of the carriers are back, I told her I got an email saying they tried to drop it off and called to pick it up and she says "we don't send emails" and asks me about the pink slip on my door. Does usps not inform their employees about these things or is she dumb? I NEVER WENT HOME. Finally when she realized I talked to her earlier she took the effort to walk a few steps and look and voila! There was my damn package. As few as jobs are in Bealeton, someone needs to learn some manners

You can't ask for better. Almost like everyone cares about each other. It's a refreshing change from the busy city post office. Oh, I don't want to forget to mention plenty of free parking and two convenient entrance points to the parking lot. They close at noon on Saturdays though, so get there early.

The mural, painted by Sheffield Kagy , depicts Luray in 1840 with Louis Ramey's blacksmith shop, farmers and horses with houses and the Blue Ridge Mountains in the background. Not only is the massive colonial brick building historic, built in 1938, built it has many unique architectural features. Inside is fabulous! Lots of rich wood paneling with artistic cutouts, brass mailboxes and mail slots, gold lettering at the windows, yet the wood floor has been preserved by adding carpet. No passport service but it is handicap accessible. Hours Monday-Friday 8:30-4:30
