Came here on 12/21 while in the area to get some last minute stocking stuffers & mail a Poshmark item. The young lady who waited on me was very pleasant and helpful. I inquired as to why there hadn't been any black heritage stamps in the circulation. She advised me that indeed there were 3 available at the time. The African American Museum, Kwanza & another that depicted the cover of a book featuring an African American child. All of that said I purchased all 3. It had been months since is was able to locate them in other locations. At the end of our transaction she offered me the option to take a treat from their holiday table which I thought was a generous gesture as the are already providing a service to the public. I arrived at noon on Tuesday and the employee met me at the door and yelled in my face, "NO! I'm closed!" She was soooo hostile. I googled this post office for its phone number, and after reading all of these negative reviews I had to log in and protest. I frequent this post office (I live within walking distance) and can attest that during most of my visits the line is reasonable. This is a small, understaffed post office and the employees are generally cheerful and sweet. This morning the city is paralyzed by an unexpected snowfall. I had some packages to ship so I called first to make sure they were open: yes. I walked over and found a lone employee holding down the fort. She was kind and cheerful (I was the first customer of the day; they opened about half an hour late.) She expressed worry that other employees were stuck in traffic and that customers would soon be arriving. Years ago, standing on a long holiday-time line at this very post office, and elderly woman who told me she was a Quaker, said, "I consider this my weekly exercise in patience." Her words have resonated with me throughout the years. Folks, if you're in a huge rush, plan for a different time to go to the post office. read more

I absolutely agree with every single statement made by the others on here. I have a PO Box at this post office and it infuriates me that I have to wait 30-40 minutes until these lazy F*$# decide that they want to open. Seriously, if the hours have changed, let us know!! I have a business to run and I rely on this place to be open when they say they are going to be open. I show my clients respect and courtesy, I wish they would do the same. I wish I knew who I could complain to. Obviously they are not threatened or concerned about their job security... wish we were all that lucky. Seriously---I can't count how many times I go here and they are not open at 9am---and they are not just 2 minutes late--they are always 20/30minutes late. It is ridiculous watching elderly women waiting and waiting patiently but you know they want to freaking scream. If this place can't open at 9am then change the freaking hours and open at 9:30am. I arrived at the chestnut hill post office at 4:28 and a woman named Benita was locking the door. I had an important package to send for my brother's birthday. I asked her to open the door so I could mail the package. She said,"we're closed." I held up my iPhone and said "it's 4:28" and showed her the screen! Benita said in a very lazy and careless way, "well my click says 4:30." I asked here where her clock was and she pointed across the store to the counter where no clock was visible. Staffing our government offices with our tax dollars to pay for lazy and uncaring people such as Benita is the reason why things don't work well in this country and why hard working people like myself who drive 10 minutes to a post office get turned away by someone who is being paid to not work. The attitude issues at this post office are legendary and watching people clean out their pocketbooks or actually file their nails while 8 or 10 customers wait in line is an image we've seen for too long. How bout we cut the fat and get someone behind the counter and the door who knows how to work...AND tell time! read more

Oh, boy, I hate this post office. I have left here sputtering so, so many times, wishing I were the sort to yell at @ssh*les in public. At least screaming might be cathartic. Instead I storm off expecting to soon drop dead from a stroke. Even worse than the usual staff who couldn't care less is a more recent staffer who SEEMS nice but appears to enjoy ever so politely giving out wrong information. They open late and close early depending on their own whims. Deliveries are inconsistent. I frequently get the wrong mail and my own mail sometimes disappears. Had to stop payment on two checks last year because they never made it to 19002 zip code. read more

We received the worst customer service at the Chestnut Hill USPS. The two women working there were rude and unhelpful. Specifically, the employee Daiquiri. We were trying to ship a small box internationally & trying to figure out the best way to do so. Daquiri was not helpful or informative. Her temper was short with us as we were asking for help with the shipping process. We will not be coming back here. The staff at Roxborough is so incredibly kind and helpful, so we will drive out of our way from now on to that location. read more

The last time I went I was the only customer and there was only one attendant behind the counter. She was just plain nasty in her attitude to me and I think it was because there was no one around to witness that behavior. There was nothing I did to warrant that. I was polite to her all times with her with the few inquiries I made. At one point I was addressing a small priority mail label on the counter in front of the priority/express mail envelope stand and she ordered me not to stand there as it would block customers (though there were none in the building). I promptly moved. To be fair, I have been there before where there were other women behind the counter who were quite pleasant, but one needs to be very agreeable, polite and on your best behavior to get treated well ( and sometimes even that does not work). read more

I wish I could give this 0 stars. This is by far the worst place on the planet. I was in yesterday and the workers were yelling at each other as to who was going to wait on me. I actually thought it was a joke. Both ladies were claiming they had to go on break and screaming at such a piercing level that I almost slammed my own head through the plate glass window. Its hard to believe the USPS is in financial crisis. I actually want to grab a lawn chair and a six pack to just sit and watch the insanity unfold over the course of the day. read more

This is the absolute worst post office I have ever encountered. The women who work here are surly, mean, impatient, lazy and just downright rude to their customers. As others here have said, it is like a comedy sketch of how not to treat a paying customer. I live a block and a half away, and I now drive to the post office in Flourtown so I do not have to deal with the horrible beasts who work behind the counter. I just can't believe they still hold their jobs with the attitude they hold. I say bring on the privatization of the post office if will improve the customer service in just this one store. Don't go here! Unless you have a lot of time to wait in line. I waited about 20 minutes (I was only third in line) the other day until I was waited on. There was only 1 guy working and the 2 other ladies refused to open up to help out, even though the line at that point had about 8 people in it. The one worker was trying to take care of a large order and then had to re-ring all the packages because he entered them in the wrong way. I had to entertain my 10 month old baby while waiting- just to mail a small envelope. When one of the other ladies finally opened her counter, she was rude to me and did not want to explain my options for types of delivery. I usually don't like to write bad reviews or complain, but I just can't believe this type of service is allowed! Wyndmoor is not much better- there is always a line there too. read more

Today My wife and I went to the Post Office from Hell, (Chestnut Hill) We had an appointment for her to turn in her application for a Passport, She had all the Required documents including Birth Certificate (Long Form) drivers license and Photo, the Out of control clerk screamed that she did not have copied her drivers license, which we never heard of being needed, I asked politely if they had a copy machine, she screamed they did not, I asked if I could get it copied close buy and return promptly, she said come back next week, I said not there, we drove well over an hour from western Montco because they had Saturday hours with appointments. We will be reporting this out of control women to the proper postal authorities promptly. We will go to the Quakertown Community Center next Thursday were I applied for my passport a few weeks ago, the bucks county Clerk is only there on Thursdays, but what a wonderful person to deal with and no appointments needed. Also they are in the up to date world, they have a copy machine. We had planned to spend some time in the city before going to the Post Office, to visit places were we grew up, but changed our minds after this episode. Bfs read more

Whelp, I feel like it's my duty to balance out these bad reviews with a positive experience or rather consistent positive experiences. I'm a self employed artist and am constantly shipping art prints and original drawings through USPS. This is my preferred location as the one in Market Square shopping center always has a line on average between 15-20mins, sometimes double that. I treat people as I want to be treated; with respect, always greeting those who wait on me with a smile and a positive attitude. If it's not reciprocated, I'm usually a little disappointed. But the girls of this USPS are lovely. Ask them how they're doing. I'm sure they'll appreciate it. Take a breath. Waiting a reasonable amount of time in line shouldn't result in you dishing the employees attitude. I've come to enjoy my visits and short conversations with the employees, and I might be crazy but I think they appreciate the positive vibe. Give it a try! read more

I never have even written a yelp post before but feel this strong about this post office. I have stopped going to this post office. I used to go at least once a week for a couple months but have been treated poorly too many times. I understand this is an understaffed, high volume post office and that is not my issue with this place, my issue is that the workers are generally verbally abusive to the customers. I have worked in retail for over 15 years and I'm appalled at how I have been spoken to and have seen other customer's spoken to in similar ways. The last straw for me was about a month ago when one of the workers was yelling, literally yelling at the customers. Her contempt and utter disgust for the customers was so apparent. I can't believe that these workers can get away with treating PAYING customers like this, I would like to think that they are being under-payed but I know they are being paid well. I will say there are two nice workers there (a middle aged man and an slightly older than middle aged woman) and they have been respectful and courteous to me each time. But there is one woman there in particular who has been rude on numerous occasion, which is just so uncalled for. read more
