Mrs. Allison is so caring that shortly after meeting her, she took an important place on turning my life around. Every time I look forward to going there. All instructors are amazing and they all have their own style which makes you learn something new every time and challenges your body and mind which helps you to grow. I can see myself going there till I am 85 years old... maybe even older lol :) I think it's obvious that I love this place, go there not just for kickboxing, exercise, kungfu, thaichi etc.. but to turn your life around from outside to inside!

Kim's school in Boston, so it was important to me that I find an instructor who had a lot of experience and really understood traditional taekwondo. Master Kim is the real deal. He is personally teaching all the classes (except for the rare occasions when he is teaching a master class elsewhere.) He's one of the OG Korean instructors who understands the art, the reasons for why moves are a certain way, and is really good at explaining things and giving feedback. Super thankful to have found the school. The community of students is great as well! Everyone is polite, respectful, and helpful to each other.

Every coach in Strength Center challenge you to reach new levels and you are guaranteed to leave satisfied after every session. I used to hate spending nearly 2 hours at the gym before, but these 55 minutes sessions in Strength Center are intense and you will always leaves with a sweat. They also offer a couple of 6 week challenges throughout the year where coaches guide you through eating habits and hold you accountable to work out. I have lost 14 lb in one of the 6 week challenges and would recommend it to anyone that wants to lose fat, get stronger, and/or learn to eat better. The Strength Center community is also great! Coaches set up groups to join 5k races, city challenges and Spartan Races. Great for anyone who are interested in these events but are nervous of going alone. Coaches will prepare you for these events and will help you feel ready that day.

It's because it's one of the few places where "taekwondo" still means "taekwondo". It's a place where people of all ages, size, and athletic ability can come to challenge themselves and achieve goals that they never thought they could achieve. Very few taekwondo schools can maintain an excellent traditional taekwondo program alongside an elite competition program; in fact, it's nearly impossible. However, West Side is able to seamlessly do both very well. Growing up, I was heavily competitive in taekwondo, and West Side taekwondo was one of those famous, well-known schools from New York City. It was the "place-to-be" and they had many great athletes and coaches. Later in life, I was lucky enough to have a chance to train at West Side on many occasions. They've always accepted me with open arms even though I was not a "regular" (because I lived 4 hours away), and I met many great people in a short period of time. It was during this time that I had a chance to experience the wonderful community that exists at West Side. The energy and the atmosphere inside and outside of class is unmatched.
