We received a firm price of $4,700 after performing 2 virtual walk-throughs to move a small 1800 sq ft townhome 150 miles in-state, which we thought was high but doable since my employer was covering the expenses. Lawrence Moving company billed the employer directly and the employer agreed to the set amount. The movers set 2 dates, one to pack the truck and one to unload. We were told that they would be at the specified locations at 9am. On the first day, they were over an hour late with no contact prior and on the second day, they were 2.5 hours late! There was some made up story about it taking over an hour to get gas after we texted the manager, which none of the guys knew anything about. The movers were unprofessional with one constantly playing on his cell phone on the first day. We had prespecified a second storage location for a few items (furniture and boxes). The movers were unorganized and refused to take any boxes to the second location, so my family had to pay to have them moved separately. The movers were supposed to cover mattresses and none of our 4 mattresses were covered in the move. They took apart multiple furniture items (beds, crib, bookcases, a mirror, etc), and they only put together one bed after unpacking. I think they chose to put that bed together because they actually broke it while taking it apart and were trying to hide it. We had 3 or 4 conversations with the driver about using a second driveway, and he still refused to follow our request. They knocked holes in the walls in several spots and were not careful. A few days after everything was moved, the company contacted us asking for $1400 extra due to uncertain reasons. This is a 30% increase from the original set price!! The employer refused to pay the extra amount. We are not pleased with the service received, and they seem to have a scammed billing process. There is a lot more I could say, but the main message is...DO NOT CHOOSE THIS COMPANY FOR YOUR MOVE. read more

They were prompt and more or less efficient. However, the movers damaged our walls and ceiling because they couldn't figure out how to angle the furniture properly ( once they did, things slid right in without a problem). They apologized and promised repeatedly that the company would fix the damage, but the company denied liability. read more

My son needed to arrange a cross-country move on short notice. The company sent an estimator to his home, whereas 5 other companies just quoted him a price over the phone. Once we selected Lawrence, the move coordinator kept in close touch and the move went smoothly. The pickup and delivery times were exactly as promised, and the truck crews were professional. Our previous move with a different company had gone horribly. So we were weary about the whole move. Lawrence Co was recommended by our new employer. Since the first time we contacted them, every thing was handled professionally. Marina was our contact person and coordinator and she was always available to answer any of our questions. A local person did a very thorough home analysis. On the day of the move, Bobbi and his crew were punctual and very efficient. They packed and labeled everything really well. Before the delivery date, we were informed of when the truck would arrive. The day of delivery went smoothly. Everything was delivered in a very good condition.
