During the right weather in the right time of year the sky is amazing, the view over looking the water is breathtaking, and we even had a Dolphin come up out of the water right next to us during our ceremony!! The price for the venue, if you're looking for somewhere that will let you bring in your own alcohol and food, is pretty good for what you get. Especially compared to other rec centers, this is so not your average rec center. Inside are hardwood floors, floor to ceiling glass windows overlooking the bay. It's true that it was a little bit too hot during the reception so I got a little more sweaty dancing than I would have liked. But they have outdoor lounge/seating areas that worked out great for the smokers crowd. The actual ceremony location is perfect - a concrete ledge that drops right off at the water, so it's like getting married at the beach without the sand! And if it rains, the ceremony can always be held in the covered outdoor area that is much less romantic than by the water, but you could decorate it up nicely if you wanted. Tyler, who orchestrates the reservations for the venue, is also very laid back but helpful at the same time making it a pretty stress free venue rental at the end of the day. There was a food and drink vendor inside with mixed results. Good shrimp tacos and mediocre crap cakes. The prices were surprisingly reasonable. Parking was scattered and limited. Weird and extended mc announcements. Then they start the video for the start of the show and suddenly stop. Lights stay off and then come on. Show finally starts. Intermission lights come on late and then go off. Intermission was in the dark. Only worth coming here for someone you really love.

Arlington has some great activities for small children on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. In 2022 they also did a great Halloween trail and events including pumpkins in the pool and a Bark-o-Ween dog friendly event. There is good variety of trees and plants along the trail. The park borders a residential area and houses. There is a gym and updated bathrooms. There is a large stand of invasive Brazilian Pepper that needs removing from the park. More native plantings and no mow areas would be welcome. But overall this is a great park with a lot to offer for swimmers, walkers, dogs, children, nature lovers, and outdoor enthusiasts.
