We came to see Miracle On 34th Street. Having seen the movie almost as many times as years-old my teeth are, I was looking forward to seeing how the story would be developed for the stage. It was a very lovely production with some actors exuding the same persona as their respective movie character. Others confused me slightly because the sex of the character was changed so that I had to get use to a female performing the role played by a male in the movie. But the story line remained true and the entire cast provided an exemplary performance. I would suggest you arrive early. While the parking lots are not far away, if there is anything close to a sellout crowd you will likely have a decent walk to the entrance. The seats are very comfortable but the leg room is a bit tight.

They need to close the doors at 2 and make people wait until intermission, then they'll get the message. No concessions to speak of. No snacks, no beer or wine. I saw water and ginger ale. It will be nice when this fledgling theatre finally gets off the ground. Doubtful to return until then. The play and actors were great. Really enjoyed it. Plus no hearing loop, but I know that comes much later, more established theatres don't have it. Difficult for hearing impaired.

Several of the people knew the bartenders and security guys well as they called each other by name and took some time to catch up on this/that. Drinks are great. They have a good selection of beers... not just Coors and Ultra. They also have a full bar and fantastic bartenders slinging drinks so you can get pretty much anything. Last autumn, I fully enjoyed my Beginning Oil Painting class at Saratoga Arts. Lisa David was very…read moreattentive and the facility was comfortable and spacious. I was very excited to rejoin this year's class and continue my oil painting journey. This year, I had a very different experience. The class has twice as many students (12) and our classroom is half the size. Because we have so many students in so little space, navigating from the door to my seat was a challenge (we had two students set up right at the classroom door blocking the entrance). It was difficult to set up our equipment, learn, and paint. Lisa tried hard to answer all our questions and check our work; she was only able to give us a fraction of the attention I experienced from my class last year. During the class, Lisa even expressed her irritation at the large class size. After my complaint to Kristin Langevin, she gave me many excuses and is adamant that they did nothing wrong, but she was willing to change us to a larger room. Nevertheless, the class size is still too big for one teacher. It just takes too long for Lisa to go around the room and give us meaningful and impactful feedback. Under current management, their focus seems to be maximizing revenue not quality of the class and they are not very interested in listening to student's feedback. It is sad that Saratoga Arts does not appear to be interested in providing quality Art education to the Saratoga community anymore.

We attended "A Gentleman's Guide to Love and Murder!" on opening night. I think it may have been…read moreonly the second or third live opera performance we've ever attended. The fact that it was in English, a comedy, and at a venue that we have been wanting to check out (Universal Preservation Hall), is what drew us to purchase tickets. The cast were all excellent, not only as singers, but also as actors. Each was able to portray their individual role quite realistically. There were a couple of comical mishaps that I was unable to decide if they were planned, or truly unexpected but well covered by the performer (e.g., loss of a mustache). Not to take anything away from the singers, I found it more difficult at times to understand what the female singers were saying during their higher ranges, but that may just be a function of my personal hearing. The approximately ten-piece orchestra was excellent. The choreography and use of the former church's layout was taken advantage of to its maximum. The physical setup of the seating is mostly good. Any seat in the balcony has a totally unobstructive view. Stadium seats on the main floor are also unobstructed and closer to the stage. It is a few of the rows of seats on the main floor along the sides of the stage that may have some obstructive views if the patrons sitting in the row in front of you interfere with your view. We definitely will consider attending future performances by Opera Saratoga when they are held at UPH.

There is a concession stand that sells tea and pastries run by volunteers. There are plenty of nice ushers that will direct you to your seat. Overall the experience was nice an I would come again.
