In the area with my boyfriend and we found out there's a drive in! We knew we had to go, and it's opening weekend! Drive-ins are obsolete on Long Island so this was a real treat for us! We chose the Mario movie and Puss in Boots The Last Wish double feature. It's only $11 per adult! You cannot beat that. We went to the snack bar for some dinner and popcorn. We got a popcorn bucket, hot dog, chicken tenders and two orders of curly fries. Everything was so good, and only cost $28!! So for two movies, all those snacks it only cost $39. The value is amazing, and everything was delicious. Staff was friendly too. Admission to the drive-in is cash only, but the snack bar takes cards. The whole drive-in experience was great! We turned to the radio station and they played great music until the movie started. They also announced when last call was during the second movie. The bathrooms were also clean. So... it's everything you'd expect of a drive-in... yet there were some things we didn't expect. No. 1: Bring bug spray. Holy hell, gnats were biting us the entire time. It was really bad. No. 2: As you probably know, you listen to the sound through your car's radio, so if you want to sit outside your car in chairs, like we did, make sure you can hear your speakers outside your car (or bring a portable FM radio with batteries). We expected to hear the sound through our open trunk but could barely hear a thing. And of course you'll want to run your car from time to time to recharge your battery (like we did not do, and paid the price for at the end of the night). But as for this place, there are a lot of puddles after a rain, so watch where you sit, so cars don't drench you. The picture is never as clear at a drive-in as in a theater, and the sound -- well, I already went over that part. But even if you sit in your car it's not going to be theater quality. I was surprised at how many people idled their cars the entire 2-hour movie. The hum of those engines was annoying for those of us struggling to hear the movie already. read more

I love this place, a great old drive in. We come here every summer while on vacation at Lake George. They always show double features, it only costs $10 ($5 kids). My family and I came here on a Saturday night at 8:47 for a 8:45 screening of despicable m3 ($10 each). The place has 2 sides with different movies on each. We were able to find a spot with a great view even though the place was a tad crowded. The option to use the car radio for sound is amazing! I remember when I was younger, this option didn't exist but the sound was great from the radio. I really liked that the voice matched the movie exactly without any lag! So your paying $9 per adult for 2 movies!! Old fashioned speakers to put in your car but i like listening on the car radio better. Snack shop has all the regular movie snacks, candy, ice cream, and drinks. By buying from the snack shop you are contributing to their business and it's what helps keep them going! Mixed feelings about this drive in- standard radio transmitter delivers digital quality to you car radio and a few working old window boxes on the original theater side BUT -and this is a huge but- they have an enormous mosquito problem here and clearly have done nothing about it. We have made 2 attempts at watching a movie but the skeeters make it intolerable here. The first time I didn't have any mosquito repellant and that was a nightmare- and paying the price gouged amount they wanted at the concession stand for some spray on repellent- shame on them!!! The second time we came prepared with "OFF!" but they were still everywhere-not biting this time but literally swarming- in your face, in front of your eyes, in your ears, in the car- it's insane how many mosquitoes there are here. Mosquito abatement is a thing people!!!!! Spray for them, eliminate standing water in the area and the mosquitoes will dissipate but it takes effort. Go to your neighbors and ask if you can look for standing water on their property - I'm sure they won't have a problem. Just do it! Until you have addressed your dangerous mosquito problem - think Zika Virus - I cant recommend. read more

I can't believe I let this review go so long! This place is great, a total retro good time. At $10 per adult and $5 per child, you're not going to find a more affordable night at the movies, and that's not even considering your money gets you a double feature! The two lots are clean and fairly spacious, with one usually showing family movies while the other shows PG-13/R rated choices. Sound is provided through old school pole-mounted speakers (most of which seemed to be working) or via FM radio. When we were there the last week of August we started out sitting in front of the car on folding chairs listening on a portable FM stereo and armed with Off! Deep Woods to keep the mosquitos at bay, but it ended up getting cold enough that we retreated back into the car after about 45 minutes and listened to the rest of the movie on the radio. We made sure to fire up the engine during intermission to recharge the battery, but the staff were about with a jump battery to help out anyone whose battery lacked the power to get going at the end if the evening. They also had the foresight to stagger the end times between the two lots, making exiting a breeze. The Glen did not seem to check if we were bringing in food or drinks (we weren't), but the snack bar is both of high enough quality and low enough cost that I would encourage you to buy your snacks here; after all, that's where the real profits are, and it'll help keep the place afloat. Clean, well run slices of Americana like this are becoming harder and harder to find these days. I encourage anyone in the Lake George area to take advantage and support this one. read more

I've always been a sucker for drive-ins & this place is hands-down my favorite. Two movies for $10 per adult, really recent films playing (we saw Jurassic World with Tag the same time that both were in theaters too). BRING THE BUG SPRAY!!! Literally my only complaint, and obviously there's nothing they can do about it so just prepare yourself. They have speakers you can hook to your car or you can just tune your radio to it. Snack bar has quite a few options too; don't be the person that sneaks in loads of foods & drinks because this place mostly relies on the snack bar to keep it running. Not sure if it's technically allowed, but I've seen people move from one screen to another after the first movie ends & never seen anyone have an issue with that. Usually a mix of kid friendly, family friendly, & mature movies playing - Incredibles 2 was also playing the night we went. read more

Sounds wrong to say that I popped my drive-in cherry here. Service was friendly at the entrance booth, even when Chris rear-ended the jeep in front of us like a doofus. I have to wonder how many people have accidentally hit one of the posts, but considering Glens Falls demographic breakdown the statistics are probably fairly low. The drive-in's not that fun during muggy mosquito season since you can't quite roll the window all the way shut once you hang the speaker, and sound quality's a little tinny. Darn good drive in! Their popcorn is the best I've ever had. Now, perhaps your standards for popcorn are not so high, God knows mine weren't. But you'll have to take my word for it...the popcorn looks like it was popped from gigantic kernels. They are perfectly round and buttery delicious. I feel like a weirdo just typing this, but I have never felt so compelled to write about a puffed grain as I do right now. This is the third drive-in I've been to, and it's the only one out of the three that still has those little speakers you can put in your car. The moves change every week and for $8 per person, you can see two movies. I saw the dark knight here during an electrical storm and it was the perfect setting. Too cute for words. So enjoyed finding a drive in. Haven't been to one in 30+ years. Went to see stupid movies (captain underpants & wonder woman) , but the experience of the drive in itself was great. Old fashioned speakers that hook to your car. Many were working. When you drive up they are on full blast so you know which ones are working immediately. We brought chairs in case we got sick of sitting in the car. *Sit in front of your car. Bring bug spray. *bugs weren't bad, but they were there. We also ran by Walmart and got FM radio's ($10) plus batteries just in case (sitting outside I used my radio with headphones - worked great!) warm clothes even if it is hot out when you start, have something extra to throw on. It can get cold that late at night. They like you to buy food from them - bucket of popcorn $6. I hear it's great, haven't tried it. All in all we got sick of sitting in our car halfway thru the first feature (by the way always a double feature for only $10 per person) so we sat outside on a Tuesday night the place was nearly empty so we took up a car space next to our car and just totally enjoyed the beautiful evening. You select one of two stations depending on what screen your at. If you bring lawn chairs then use the outside speakers. The drive in itself is a gem. It's an experience which I recommend to families visiting Lake George. Beware of the cashier in snack shop she tried to grossly overcharge me for 3 drinks and 2 popcorns and two candy bars. Her Computation yielded a final price of 146!!!! When I told her I needed to return to my car to get more money because the 30 dollars I had on me were not enough she became annoyed and told me to leave my food to the side. I returned with my wallet and asked her to recalculate and her new calculation was 26.00. She was rude unprofessional and I worry that she steals from customers with her shady math. Very off-putting. My 30 dollars were sufficient and there was no need for her to embarras and demean me insinuating that I was trying to steal popcorn! Customers beware she doesn't give receipts so keep note of the price of your goods before paying so she doesn't thieve you as well read more

I realize this is the only drive in theater around but that doesn't mean that the place should be neglected by the owners because they know people will still come here. It's obvious most times we are here that no one is employed to clean and stock the bathrooms regularly and none of the speakers work. Instead of fixing them they simply put a notice on their website stating that they don't guaranty the use of their speakers. Sure people drive off with them in their windows and that's why they don't work but all that's needed is for someone to take the time and rewire them. I'm willing to bet that most of the speakers still function and the only thing required is to attach the wires back to them. A knot in the wire should used so they can't be yanked back out through the hole. They will last much longer once repaired. Buy a spool of wire from Ray Supply down the road and pay someone to spend the day rewiring them while you are closed. I know someone that can do it and would be willing to. It's not that difficult at all. Other than that the place is great. Not a lot of people have and use portable fm radios anymore, some cars have always on daytime running lights and people end up with dead batteries all of the time. Everything else about the place is fine but it definitely needs some serious attention. I couldn't help but notice the duct tape and cardboard wall they made in the snack bar line..... Every issue I've seen is a relatively cheap fix. It shouldn't be held together with duct tape. read more

There is a snack bar with the basics (ie: hot dogs, burgers, pizza, pretzels, funnel cakes) and they do take credit cards in the snack bar. Place features 2 screens which show a double feature for the $9 admission. You listen to the movie via tuning into one of two radio stations. The sound was actually really good. The screens were very clear. Went tonight to see a movie and despite the horrible rain the place was open and there were a few cars in attendance. Not the easiest thing to watch a drive in movie in the rain but it was doable and still fun. Would definitely return (hopefully not in the rain). read more
