They did all the necessary testing. We were there several hours but that was okay because they were being thorough. After the debacle at the other hospital Dr. JOINER and the awesome nursing staff found the problem and my wife is at 100%. I saw a young ex-NFL player die from dehydration less than 2 years ago. I could have lost the love of my life. Thanks to Dr. Joiner and the staff at St. Francis my wife is good and healthy. Please go here for any needed medical especially ER help. Glenwood could have easily killed my wife but Thank God the St. Francis staff took care of their business and my wife. THANK YOU ST. FRANCIS!

To make myself perfectly clear an emergency room hospital is for emergencies. Acute life threating medical conditions such as severe complications of pregnancy. My daughter was suffering life threatening pregnancy complications and was shuffled to the waiting room screaming in pain. The hospital's ONLY interest was the collection of insurance information. People waiting to be seen went to the registration window asking for help for my daughter. She was in that much pain! We were eventually told she was placed in the rotation and would have to wait her turn. There is a term in the medical field called Triaging the patient. St. Francis Hospital does not have a clue what this is. To be fair to the medical staff; we never had the pleasure of meeting you to include you in this review. It all stopped at the registration window and waiting room floor. Leadership starts at the top and if this is how your hospital operates for patients with life threatening conditions you should consider a change. If you are a patient who needs emergency care, take the extra time and go to the hospital in West Monroe if possible.

I was on vacation when I developed a fever (102.8) and began to have muscle spasms in my neck and…read moreshoulders. After 3 days, I went to a local doctor who prescribed Tylenol and muscle relaxers when I told him that going home would require a 10 hour flight followed by a 4 hour car road. The trip home was torture - every bump send jolts of pain through me and spasms began to radiate down my arms. Upon returning home, I went to Urgent Care because my primary care doctor couldn't see me for a week. The PA had amazing bedside manner and took lots of time. All tests were negative, but he gave me a steroid shot and more muscle relaxers. He and my primary care doctor told me to go to the ER if I had not improved in 3 days. By day three, I couldn't tie my shoes, get out of bed on my own, and was imagining that I had meningitis, a compressed disc or some horrible disease. I think God wanted me to lean on Him more and when I did, He stepped in to handle things. I went to the St. Francis ER. Every seat was filled with people and some had been there a few hours. While I sat, the police brought in a gunshot victim and a DUI who had crashed into 3 cars. The prisoners had to be triaged while the police interrogated and guarded them. Hey, I had no problems compared to them. I could wait a while longer. From the intake clerk, Candis the phlebotomist, the radiologist, the lady who kept coming to offer comfort while updating my vitals, the RN who kept checking on my pain levels, and the PA who was monitoring me as I waited to see the doctor, I saw a sympathetic, well trained professional team dedicated to patient care. Finally, Dr. Louie V. Crook came to examine me. He immediately calmed my fears that I wasn't dying and there was treatment. His careful examination (I didn't want anyone to touch me or make me get off the bed because it hurt so much) as he explained what he was doing to the PA meant so much. He was patient, reassuring, kind. Boy, does he know his stuff! He realized that the spams and pain required some heavy duty painkillers to block the pain and more steroids. In 10 minutes, the nurse came back with two shots. I don't know what was in them, but Thank God for helping someone invent medicine. They waited to be sure that I was feeling relief and had no side effects before releasing me. For the first time in over two weeks, I slept through the night. I feel like a new person this morning. I got out of bed unaided. The aches and pains are so much better and my fever is gone. I want to commend St. Francis for creating this ER team. Everyone was outstanding. Please let them know how much their care meant to me. I wish that I knew the name of each person so that I could thank them individually. The complaints I read are unjustified. I think these people were probably in so much pain that they were not able to see the team team's focus on each patient among the many. Thank you for the mission to treat the community and the excellent staff you hired to meet this mission
