One of my favorite haunts to shop is Williams Sonoma and still one of my places to shop! I have seen this place mobbed with shoppers and I have seen this place struggle at certain times but in all it has been a big draw for shoppers with plenty of parking! The massive food court has always interested me to sit and grab food while I take a rest to shop again! What really peaked my interest in the Mall was in 2024 while home I watched a documentary called SECRET MALL APARTMENT on Cable which was a true to life story of 8 Rhode Island Artists who actually built a 750 square foot Apartment hidden in the hidden spaces of the Mall! In 2003 and supposedly lived undetected and unnoticed by anyone for about 4 years! It was fascinating to see in the movie the amount of furniture and items they got past security or anyone ! To think I was there shopping and had no idea this was happening under my nose while in the mall! So, since the discovery of said Apartment This Mall has been something of a surprise and I will continue to enjoy my shopping experience here always! I hope that all the stores get lots of foot traffic to continue being a staple to the Mall!

The quaint little area is a much more relaxed place to dine and shop than nearby Thayer Street or the Providence Place Mall. You won't often see large crowds or wait in long lines. If you are looking for some tasty bites to eat, to catch up on the latest fashion, or simply find a great read, the businesses on Wayland Avenue can satisfy whatever you are craving. We have been many times to eat, shop and relax...the area is in a residential setting, so for those who live nearby, it's like a block or two away walk to get a French croissant, grab the latest bestseller novel or get a funky lamp from a home decor store. It reminds me of Old Town Pasadena, but on a much smaller scale. I really like it. We went in the West Elm store and my in-laws bought some things for their home. A couple of things to note: Parking isn't free - there's a garage across the street and paid street parking nearby. Also, accessibility could be an issue - I didn't notice a wheelchair ramp on one side of the mall (maybe there's one on the other side?). Overall, it's a neat place to explore, especially if you appreciate history and architecture, but it's more of a quick visit rather than a full shopping experience.

The fitness club also left the shopping mall, so it's mostly small businesses right now. BankRI and Bottles are going to be the main tenants unless someone large moves in. I'm not a fan of the clothes and accessories (jewelry and bags) at Burlington but find it's a great place to shop for kitchen things and occasionally shoes. Don't miss the Aldi in the same complex.
