Everything was very organized and they kept us parents very well informed. I was very impressed. The dorm she was in was honestly so cool! Was thankful they let us check out the campus a little bit before we said goodbye for 6 days. For being as nervous as she was leading up to the event, she ended up having the best time. Parking at the garage nearby was convenient. We parked there for 6-7 hours and were charged $10 for parking there. The food court on the first floor was nice and had a lot of food options. Lots of restroom locations in the building. The powwow was on the ground floor. It was the most comfortable venue I experienced for a powwow. The Native American & Indigenous Alliance provided free meals and bottles of water during the powwow. Admission was free. They also gave free offerings of Native American Indian post cards. The music and performances at the powwow were very entertaining. I loved the camaraderie between the performers and spectators. The outdoor campus is beautiful and well kept. We enjoyed our visit to George Mason University very much.

I repeated that I had cash or check to pay his tuition. They would not accept and told me to drive to NOVA at Annandale after I had made a 38 mile trip to the NOVA Loudon campus. That is a disgrace to treat a paying parent in such manner. Something is patently wrong with an institution that won't accept cash-in-hand payment. I can understand now why NOVA is referred to as being financially corrupt with a don't-give-a-damn mentality in how they treat people.

They have a small but rotating and tasty selection in the cafe. I haven't tried out the workout room but it looks similar to a setup in a luxury apartment building. The classrooms are plentiful and big. Most have projectors and screens. There are lots of huddle rooms and locations to meet with your groups. The best perk is the free parking. I like the location. I just wish it was metro accessible.

I really love coming to this library, they give you free wifi and free computer access with about 30+ computers in the library that you can access. I feel pretty safe there too, because there are security guards once you enter. The library is really quiet and very clean. The people there are actually pretty strict when it comes to noise, so as long as you don't make much noise, they don't care. But that library is so quiet, that you can hear everything that everyone is doing, so unless you get a quiet room, I wouldn't recommend talking. The seats are comfy, the desks are really big and spacious, and you get alot of privacy. Overall, the library is big, quiet, and very great to study in if you really need to concentrate. Once you get hungry, there is a cafeteria that you can stop by, and you can always go to giant which is about a 2 minute walk. Or a 5-10 minute walk to the strip mall where they have a 7 eleven, sushi shop, burger king, and oriental market.

The instructors are a mixed bag. Some clearly have no experience or business teaching anything. Some are very good. And don't get me started on the fact that staff were still required to go into their shared offices/cubicles at the height of the pandemic. The only times they could work from home (with their webcams on so the owner could see they were working) was when colleagues happened to test positive. That was only until everyone tested negative. Then you had to go back to the office until the next one was positive, then the cycle repeated. Mediocre community college, at best.

The class was fun, educational and most-importantly, taught me how to help save a life. I would highly-recommend this to anyone who needs CPR certification for their job or just to prepare yourself for the possibility of needing it. There have been a lot of changes, but much is the same. Friendly easy going campus, and the pond out front is as pretty as ever. What I liked about this and all campuses of NVCC, is that your professors had real world experience. They weren't some frumpy tenured person, who enjoyed adding their brilliance to the new expensive class book. Here most of my instructors were assistant FBI directors, or high up in public safety agencies. They taught so you'd learn and remember, as while test taking can be important, retention is the best indicator of an education. Have gone to other schools, but this one is a friendly place for all to learn. Am a big supporter of this and other community colleges.
