This new location is quite large, it has 2 floors and it looks like it used to be a school so the building itself has some charm. They have several vendor stalls, but you are free to roam around and pay at the register by the door regardless of which stall you purchase from, plus no annoying sales people! This was a lovely establishment but I will likely not return and this is why. I found four prints that were listed as "SPECIAL SET OF 4 / SPECIAL $40.00". Next to these two stickers was a third sticker that stated "Complete set of 4 $160". As I checked out at the front of the store, I wanted to make sure that the vendor was getting paid what they were owed. I didn't bargain down or argue for the $40, I made sure the cashier knew that there were two conflicting prices and that I didn't want to shortchange the vendor. Upon first asking if the $40 was the correct price, she stated loud and rudely, "IT SAYS SPECIAL FOR FOURTY DOLLARS." This was all she spoke while making direct and antagonizing eye contact. I acknowledged her words gently and kindly, that I indeed saw that sticker but also noticed that there was a conflicting price tag NEXT to the $40 one. The more expensive price was not crossed out or written over, they were listed next to each other. What I didn't say, but was hoping to clarify, was whether the store was okay being on the hook for the extra $120 if they were only going to charge me $40. The cashier simply repeated the same words, louder this time, and very condescending in her tone and manner, "IT SAYS SPECIAL FOR FOURTY DOLLARS" and pointed to the sticker to make her point even clearer. She said nothing else. I paid without further comment. As she bagged up the four prints, she included the additional document with the price stickers on it. I inquired if she wanted to keep the ADDITIONAL document with the price tags and booth label (for her records), making sure she didn't slip it in by mistake. Her tone, still very loud and now even more condescending, resounded as she said, "I WON'T BE REMOVING THOSE STICKERS BECAUSE THEY WILL DAMAGE THE PAPER." I wasn't asking her for a lesson on how adhesive works, I was simply trying to allow her the opportunity to keep the documentation for the vendor and the store to prove that she charged me for the discounted price. I've grown up in antique stores. My grandmother and mother both currently own/have owned their own antique establishments, so I'm familiar with the protocol. Maybe their protocol is different. My bad. I did not respond further and took the bag gently from her hands. It could have been the simplest and most pleasant interaction though. "Oh I see that there are two conflicting prices here. Let me call the vendor and verify that this one is correct." Or perhaps "We are told to take the lowest price listed on each product, so I can guarantee this is the correct price. Thanks for the concern though! I appreciate you looking out for the vendor!" Something, ANYTHING, more pleasant in terms of tone and word choice, would have been a better experience. I have also been in her shoes. I have worked in marketing and customer service for the past 20 years. I have worked a front desk, many, many times. I have been a cashier. I have been the rep who answered tweets at 11pm where a customer needed toilet paper sent to their hotel room. I know what it's like to deal with belligerent , arrogant people, with people who actively try to make your life a living hell because you work behind a desk, behind a screen, behind a uniform. That was NOT my intention, and that's what I think stung the most. In being kind, in being thorough, I was treated with contempt. Maybe she was having a bad day. Maybe I caught her in a moment where she had just dealt with someone difficult and assumed I was the same. There are a number of reasons why this transaction was so unpleasant. "Give her some grace!", the masses might cry. And I might agree with you. Normally, I would. But she was old enough to know better. The job she holds is not one that is difficult to execute, nor difficult to execute PROPERLY. Maybe I'm making a mountain out of a molehill. Maybe I shouldn't have let this seemingly small incident make such a huge impact. Or maybe, just maybe, this could've turned out so drastically different if this young woman had exercised the bare minimum and just been kind to me in return. read more

Staff not helpful. I asked to leave my ID with the cashier so I could take a stain sample out to my car and see if it matched the table I had out there. She wouldn't allow me to do so, and I had to go home, get tools, disassemble the table and then bring part of it inside. Now that I know what color stain to buy, I'll find someplace else to buy it. Make it hard for customers to spend money in your business, and they'll definitely find another place to shop. read more

Nice space, well curated handmade and vintage items. Leaned more into the hand/homemade. I found a vendor that made cute rusty metal animal figurine ornaments that I'm going to use to build a cute mobile. Front desk not so friendly, as soon as you walk in the door you are hit with no large bags allowed, which I get, but hate at the same time. Call me a thief why don't you?! New location, basically the same stuff. I'm not a huge fan of painting thrift store furniture and passing it off as "vintage," but that's just my taste--and that is basically all you have here. There are a few "old" things but most of it is reproduction, with a few new items thrown in (candles, figurines, glassware, etc. new and sourced from China via catalog). The staff is overwhelming in this store and it made my experience subpar, to be honest. They have people roaming the floors--I presume under the pretense of being helpful--but it seemed like they were more keen on counteracting shoplifting. I'll be honest, it was hard to maintain a conversation with my better half (e.g., "this is kind of neat" or "yikes, my grandmother sold something like that at a yard sale") when we had staffers within earshot patrolling our every move. Meanwhile, there are unattended toddlers actually causing problems. I used to pop into Pickers every month or two to see what they had on offer, but no desire to return. Ample parking, fairly busy store, make sure you look at their website to see if their offerings will be what you're wanting as this is NOT an antique store. read more

I had never been to this place before but wow! I spent maybe 40 minutes in the building and didn't even go to the top floors. I loved seeing all the stuff this place had to offer and will definitely be going back. It is a little pricey but there are also some really good deals! read more

Came looking for a queen size bed & found a couple to choose from, but actually left with a gorgeous MCM desk! I liked looking in the booths & also found a really cool starburst wall hanging & a couple red MCM coffee cups. While MCM is my style, there was a great selection of different styles for just about everyone. On a side note, staff was so sweet & came around to check on me & take my "find" to the front for me, so I didn't have to lug them around! I really appreciated that because I'm clumsy on a good day! Went to university pickers on sat oct 8 wow what a wonderful treat. They have an outside day the 2nd sat of the month. I had a wonderful time and didn't even go inside. They have a large building but I was getting tired so didn't make it to the inside. Outside is very well organized easy to get in and out of the venues, everyone was very helpful and interesting. This is just resale of stuff that didn't cost much to begin with yet they are charging top dollar. They also don't negotiate which means that they aren't really "PICKERS". The vendors don't accept offers which they might to get a sale, especially because some of their pricing is off base. Care must be take in looking things over - items are dirty, broken and often unwashed-- but their prices don't reflect this. Also it's a waste of time to stop here if you're looking for vintage - 25 years or older....nothing here at all. read more

I found this place on university and will NOT go and support again. We walked in and no one greeted us with a southern hello or anything, so we continued to walk around looking at things and get to the back there was this guy, not sure who he was as he didn't say anything, they were talking loud until they saw us and they were quiet, the guy followed us to the other side to act as if he was "straightening" up. We was in town hitting up all the antique stores we could find. Don't let the name fool you this place is far from the "picker" category. Very very few actual vintage or antique items to be found. On the other hand if farm house decor/furniture is your thing then this is the place. Booth after booth and isle after isle of mostly the same stuff. Huge let down. read more

This was one of our stops for our staycation. The previous owners now own two picker type shops in the Chattanooga area, and while in town, we wanted to stop. I think this "antique mall" had cute booths, interesting things to look at, and very reasonable prices. Everyone has always been friendly, whether I buy a $50 framed print or a $1 sticker. This is not an antique store but a boutique for home decor. The people are super nice and it's clean but it's all reproduction decor or repainted furniture. It's really nice if you need furniture but there's hardly anything else - especially not the random neat old things I was hoping to browse through. read more

When we walked in the lady at the front desk didn't smile and barely said hello. Sorry, but that to me is a negative first impression. They have some cute pieces of furniture many ,that have been painted. Shabby chic. They also show many items on Craigslist. Many pieces IMO were overpriced. Customers shop from sellers who rent booths. There was a mix of hand made items, to old refurbished and flea market finds.There are signs every where that say you are on camera. That area of Huntsville is not worth the drive there. read more
