Warning, long review! I will begin by saying that I honestly did not know how badly I needed to see Marc! I was a little nervous since this was my first professional massage, but I had read multiple reviews and decided that Marc would be a good fit for what I was looking for. Turns out that I was absolutely correct. Before we even began, Marc asked for a run down of my muscular / skeletal medical issues. For me... it's a bit of a longer list. I have had surgery on my left shoulder and currently I have bad pain in my left knee. Another issue I have always suffered with was lordosis of the spine, meaning that I have an exaggerated curve in my lower back. I have never been able to flatten or straighten it. This causes the pelvis to be tilted causing an array of issues. My aches and pains have prohibited me from enjoying things I love to do. I do musical theater and getting through a choreography rehearsal has been increasingly difficult. I can't go for a run or enjoy a work out... I NEEDED to do this much sooner. I always thought of massage as a luxury.. not a necessity to my health. That mentality has completely changed. After one session with Marc, my body feels so much better. My knee pain has decreased. There is a notable difference in my back arch. His knowledge of muscular / skeletal health is remarkable. Before I left, I scheduled another session. I had my first appointment with Marc yesterday and all I can say is that the business name "Unwind Therapeutics" is greatly understating the massage/experience that I had yesterday! He truly has magic hands! I've been too a large number of therapists jn the past ranging from private practice nets to very high end expensive luxury salons and this was hands down one of the best if not the best treatments that I've ever received. He was attentive to and listened to my needs, areas of concerns as well as what my short term and long term goals are. He applied the perfect amount of pressure and made a point to check in with me throughout the treatment. I can in all honesty say that I noticed years of tension, built up posterial damage and issues due to accidents as well as a stroke behind addressed in the most effective. Creative and knowledgeable manner! I already booked my next appointment before leaving the office and with a smile came home and encouraged my husband to do the same. I suffered a massive stroke five years ago that's left me with chronic pain and an inability to maintain relief, but after my treatment I left lighter and softer and it felt like 80% of all my issues magically melted away! Marc was amazing. First the office building is very nice and massage room is perfect making for a very tranquil environment. I bought 2 passes to see him...one for me and a gift for my husband as it was our birthdays. I have had previous massages befor but nothing like this. After childbearing I developed alot of areas I struggle with and he knew exactly what pressure points to release to help take some of my pain away. I seriously felt great after it was all over and would recommend for people to there often and Marc has great deals. If my funds were better as well I would see him at least 1 time every 2 weeks. I loved the oils he used but only wished he used a little bit more. Due to so many bad spots hurting he didnt have enough time to finish up and do my arms and scalp but I feel so good after. My husband also got one and he is not the massage type guy but he came out saying he really enjoyed it as well but when money allows he would rather have me go because Marc was a miracle for me. I was pleasantly surprised to have come across Marc on Groupon. While in the Waukegan area for 2 months I was in search of a masseur and had tried several. Sadly, I came across Marc toward the end of my stay but had to have his services again before leaving the area. Marc responds to appointment inquires promptly, his initial greeting was warm yet professional and his intake assessment was easy, thorough, and done in regard to a person's individualized needs. More specific to his services, my 60-minute massage was amazing! Marc's hands are strong and sensual and led me to question if he had a GPS to find and knead out all of the tension in my back. For my first time, I was highly impressed with his services and how intuitive he was to tension and stress lumps in my body. If you are wondering about trying his services, just do it. You'd be happy that you did. Lastly, as we are still in the state of a pandemic, Marc's space was clean, filled with the aroma of essential oils, along with him being masked and performing hand hygiene before and after my treatment. I came upon Unwind Therapeutic Massage through Groupon. I was in search for a deep pressure massage and decided to reach out to Marc and see his availability before booking. Marc texted back and scheduled me for a 60 minute massage the next day. Upon entering the suite I was greeted by Marc, who started asking me questions in regards to my medical history and complaint. He showed me into the room where I situated myself on top of the massage table. Throughout the entire massage Marc inform me everything he was going to do, as well as what he was doing. He checked in on me to make sure I could feel the stretch and not be in pain. He was very polite and professional in the way he made me feel comfortable. He made sure my private areas were covered, which was great! Overall Marc was GREAT and his massage definitely helped alleviate many of many pressure points in my neck, shoulder, back and legs. I have had three massages so far with Marc. Similar to other reviewers, I have nothing but positive things to say. I have had hiking and cycling injuries over the years, I travel extensively and internationally for work, and I have a sedentary, high-stress, fast-paced job. I had a massage therapist for years for whom I drove 1.25 hours each way every week because she was THAT therapeutic, but she moved out of state, and I've been getting worse ever since. I've tried several therapists near my home, but no one compared, until I met Marc three sessions ago. As everyone has said, he asks a lot of questions to understand where he should focus the time, and he frequently checks in to make sure you are comfortable and experiencing relief. He already is beginning to make an impact on some stubborn longer-term issues, and I'm delighted to have found him. I recently had my first massage with Marc - note first massage, because I'll definitely be going back! I've been getting massages for almost 40 years due to long-term health problems, including severe arthritis, chronic daily migraines and fibromyalgia. I was in a 3-week pain cycle that I was unable to break and was having a hard time connecting with my regular therapist. I contacted Marc for the first time on a Saturday afternoon. When I told him what was happening with me, he insisted I come in on Sunday evening after his last client because otherwise he was booked solid for almost 2 weeks. Marc is an exceptional masseuse. I go to him twice a week. He never skims on the hour, he is always learning new techniques, he knows exactly how to find the spot and get the pain...out.He uses lots of modern methods, such as cupping, essential oils, & stretching techniques. He is very good and can absolutely come through when deep tissue is requested. He is professional and really has a passion for this career as well as helping people. I recommend him highly, because I have been to MANY masseuses over my long lifetime and he is #1 on my list for healing! I've been looking for a massage therapist that could help alleviate the years of pain and discomfort I've been having from my plantar fasciitis and achilles tendinitis. I think I've finally found one in Marc. After just one session, I can already feel a difference in the pain and tightness in my calves and plantar fascia. I know it will take several sessions to make a lasting impact on my feet which is why I booked my next session right away. Marc really listened to what I had to say about my physical ailments as well as felt them and addressed them as well as he could in the time allotted. Before the session he was very inquisitive about my goals for the session. After he was done I was able to get great recommendations for relief and exercises to achieve my goals. He has always proved to be very professional, passionate, and his techniques are those of a sincere well informed therapist-who cares for his patients well being. I was very glad to find Marc and get a professional massage at a great rate. Marc was prompt in his reply and arrival. Amazing massage, highly recommend! I just had my first massage with Marc yesterday. I recently moved to the area and was looking for a place to get a massage for my aching shoulders and neck. I have had problems with my neck & shoulders for years and have been in and out of Physical Therapy. I suffer with Frozen Shoulder syndrome as well as lower back issues. Marc does an amazing job at working these areas and when I leave I am essentially pain free, He listens and understands what I am explaining when I tell him about the pain areas. My sons gave me a groupon for x-mas to unwind therapeutic massage. Marc asked me if I had any problems or areas of concern. I told him I've had limited ROM in my neck and tightness and discomfort in my back. He suggested doing a focused 1 hour upper body massage. He really stretched me out and I felt really wonderful afterwards. He also suggested stretches and equipment I could use at home to keep myself more stretched. I am planning on returning for more upper body massages. He is very knowledgeable about his profession and I would definitely recommend his services. read more
