I felt so relaxed and she was kind to make sure the pressure was right for me and that the massage table which was heated was a good temperature. She was very thorough included a stretching which did wonders for my lower back. Even with the soft music going on the walls are paper thin so you can hear the cars and when the next person came for their appointment I could hear them. I needed a massage, my neck, shoulders and back were killing me. I was able to get an appointment for an hour long deep tissue massage with Sofiya. The massage was wonderful. Sofiya was very talented and listened when I talked about my problem spots and paid special attention to them. The spa was small but very pretty. They've got a sauna room that has the most lovely colored lights on the ceiling. I have no desire to spend time in a sauna, but that room was so magical, I'd like to hang out there. recently got a massage here and overall i was pleased. i got the Headache Helper done by Mohd. If you need someone with heavy hands, this is the guy for you. He really was working on my knots. There didn't seem to be much structure to his massaging (which i liked). Most places i've been to do 5 stroke of this, 5 strokes of that, 5 strokes of that, and so on. This guy seemed to work on the knot until it was gone. I could never predict what his next move was, so it felt very tailored to me. Half of it was on my back and half was laying on my stomach. The price of this massage is a little expensive, especially after tip, but I was definitely in need of it. I definitely appreciate online appointment scheduling. That's one of the main reasons i chose this place. It's 2024, i don't want to have to call. I would be back, maybe. Would hope the price was a little less for a 45 minute massage. read more

I came here twice and both times I had asked that the bulk of the massage be done on my back. That request was ignored by both masseuses. My first time was with Rachel. The pressure was extremely inconsistent, I was inappropriately exposed numerous times and it was very obvious she was trying to run out the clock because she kept inconsistently stretching random parts of my body over and over again. She spent maybe 20 minutes collectively on my back. The second time, I decided to schedule with Olga. This was one of the most disappointing massages I've ever had. I again asked for the massage to be focused on my back and even pointed out where I have knots. She spent about 10-15 minutes total on my back. The pressure she used was nonexistent. You would've thought she was massaging an infant with the little pressure she used. There was more pressure when she wiped off the oil with a towel than during the entire massage. Even when she stretched out my limbs, she barely put any effort in. I would've expected such an expensive massage to at least be good. Just know you will not receive your money's worth. read more

Essentially my first massage(second one ever). Made an appointment with Olga. It was fantastic. I arrived a few minutes prior to my scheduled time and Olga was waiting to check me in. We were able to begin right away. Olga was wonderful. She'd confirm the amount of pressure was acceptable throughout. She took care throughout and moved and worked with purpose. I decided today to find myself a place to relax and get some much needed massage therapy. After scouring the nearby places, I decided to give Adore Essence a try. I called Adore but after two rings had another call on the other line so I hung up and took the other phone call. I completely forgot to call them back and continued calling other places on my list. Here's the part that I like the most; I received a phone call from Rachel (at the point I didn't realize she was the owner) saying she had a missed call and if she could help me. Not only did this impress me but she even took me as a walk in as her last client of the day without a reservation. At this point I'm super excited. I arrived at my appointment time, entered the building, and was greeted by Rachel at the top of the stairs. I discussed with her my problem areas and she absolutely targeted them for the majority of the time leaving some time at the end to complete the deep tissue massage with arms/legs/neck/etc. (which was not my main priority). Everything was absolutely perfect and complete. Thorough, respectful, attentive, and loves what she does. Needless to say, that list I created to find my massage escape has been tossed. Impressed is an understatement. The vision Rachel has and has created is beautiful; everyone who is reading this now should experience what I experienced. The owner of this business is rigid and uncaring. We had an urgent family matter arise and could not attend the appointment or field calls from them. They charged me full fee for a couples massage. I tried to ask for understanding, but the owner simply threw the 24 hour policy in my face and the fact that I signed the agreement. I was not disputing these points, but merely asking for a humane response. She told me I had "ample time" to respond to their follow up calls. What an obnoxious statement to make to a family to who had an unexpected urgent matter arise. My wife and I will NEVER give our business to this penny wise and pound foolishness owner. I really debated writing this review for a few weeks but I felt like I had to share my experience. Now I came here because of Groupon. Groupon is always hit or miss, especially for massages, so I did my research to make sure this office wasn't operated from someone's basement (it isn't). I followed groupon's instructions and went on the website to request an appointment. They say that they will contact you in 24-48 hours although it may be longer. After 5 days, I felt like I waited long enough to see what was going on. I found out that their website actually doesn't work and the request never reached their office. Meh, not a big deal but it pushed out the massage further than I wanted. When it came to the day of my massage, I went early in the case they wanted me to fill out paperwork. The office door was locked and the maintenance guys said I just needed to knock louder. Still, no response. Eventually I decided to call them and somehow my appointment was lost on their computer and the girl that was supposed to come was having car issues. The girl on the phone offered to come as she lived close to the area. She apologized profusely when she arrived and asked that I change right away. I've had a few massages before but nothing quite like this one. She cracked my back during the session which I've never had someone do before (some may like this, I didn't). It also felt like her nails were digging in along with the massage. Who knows, maybe my experience was poor because I tried to save a few bucks on Groupon but I think I will save my money and go elsewhere next time. read more

Positive: Communication, Professionalism, Quality I surprised my husband for our 19th anniversary with a couples massage. He had Sheila and for a deep tissue massage and I had Daisy for a Swedish massage. First off, it doesn't look like you would find this little gem in the building, which looks a little, quiet medical office building. But you walk into the suite and it is SO CHILL. The atmosphere immediately puts you in a relaxed state and the scent is light and pleasant (like essential oils). We discussed both of our issues (I have lower back pain, my husband just wanted to remove all the knots!) and they were very patient in listening. We were led to the couples room and it was STUNNING. My husband and I were both taking decorating notes We got undressed and climbed onto our respective tables and they were nice and warm. Daisy took note of my sensitive skin and used more natural products, which is really appreciated. But both masseuses were EXCELLENT. I felt like I could have immediately taken a nap My husband I date each other still after 19 years and we promised each other we would be back for sure! I was in town for a couple of days, and thought I'd get a massage while I was there. I know that independant LMTs are often times far better than the LMTs that you find in big corporate spas and chains, so I picked this place and crossed my fingers. The massage I got was okay overall. My massage therapist, Jessie, seemed somewhat inexperienced, though. Her hand strength was good for deep pressure, but her technique left much to be desired. She moved too quickly to be able to find the spots that needed more attention. Long, slow, fluid strokes are what make a swedish massage a swedish massage. This massage was fast, choppy, and disjointed. She got through the 90 minutes session too quickly and then went from my feet back to my neck/face to fill time. So, feet hands on my face... yeah, at least they were my feet, but this is a massage pro no, no. There were also several times throughout the session where the deep pressure wasn't adjusted when moving over boney prominences. Gliding over bones with firm pressure is very painful. It's hard to express to a therapist that they should be avoiding boney prominences and/or adjusting pressure when gliding over them. It's taught in school. The pressure was perfect in general, so asking for less pressure wasn't really going to get the result I wanted. Everything would be feeling fine and then suddenly I'd have an elbow in my spine. She also climbed atop the table and straddled my legs, which was unexpected. It would probably be appropriate to ask for consent from the client before doing this. Like another reviewer said, she made an intentional effort to crack my back. It wasn't overly forceful, but it wasn't within her scope of practice to do this, and she didn't ask for condent. Last but not least, the draping. Proper draping techniques are taught in every massage school. The lack of draping skills made me seriously question whether or not she had received training from an accredited school and was actually licensed as a massage therapist. She messed around with the draping constantly throughout the session, which was very distracting. She'd shove the sheet halfway down my back and massage under the sheet, dragging it back up with her as she moved, then pushing it down again. It should take one quick fold down to the sacrum and then you don't have to touch it again until you cover the client. It was the same with leg, arm draping... A lot of fiddling around with the sheets and massaging under them when she couldn't get them to stay put. Twice during the session, she exposed my breasts while attempting to drape. I was never able to fully relax into a meditative state with all of the fidgeting around. It wasn't a great experience, but these are things she could improve upon, so I don't want to be overcritical. She seemed like a nice person, and she had good energy going for her. I was a massage therapist for many years and also worked as adjunct faculty for a massage school doing clinical massage assessments with students. I've had more massages than I could ever count. I may be more apt to notice some of these things than the general public. However, these are the things that will make or break the experience for anyone whether they're able to explain the reasons or not. read more

At one point i even started to question the license of my massage therapist because she totally did not know what she was doing and did some weird things that I've never encountered during a massage. I'll start off by saying that I found this place in a Groupon. Since I've had both good and bad experiences with the places they advertise, I did a little research and decided it had enough positive reviews to give it a try. At first, it was a little cumbersome to book the appointment, but I believe this was due to the 3rd party booking service (getmyappointment.com) not communicating with Adore Essence Massage & Spa. I did follow Groupon's instructions step by step, but after a week with no one contacting me (I was supposed to be contacted within 3 days), I called the place directly and they explained that they've been having issues with Groupon, but booked my appointment right away. So my first recommendation would be, if you're going to use a Groupon, follow the instructions, but don't wait for them to call you; call them instead. The place is located across from Viking Park Square, in a professional and medical building; a little tucked away, so don't go too fast or you might miss the entrance. I got in, up the stairs and easily located their suite (203). The place is small, but it was neat and clean, smelled nice and had a very subtle, yet comforting and inviting decor. I was greeted by Rachel (I believe she's the owner), who I also got my massage from, and she was really nice and attentive. I really enjoyed my massage; honestly one of the best ones I've had. She seemed very knowledgeable and used amazing massage techniques. I'm definitely coming back! Not only the massage was great, but Rachel is a really nice and attentive person. Don't judge a book by its cover. Found this place in a google search. When I arrived, and I saw it was an older office building and not very "spa" like I had some concern but decided to try it. I am glad I did, it was probably the best massage I ever had. I threw my back out a couple weeks prior and have been seeing a chiropractor on a regular basis. The chiropractor helped my spine and the pinching but the muscles were so tight it was painful to twist, bend or even sleep. After my massage here, I can happily say I was nearly pain free, they really worked out the tension. Would repeat! read more
