Imagine someone assisting you and not distracted doing five other things. Imagine them assisting you to the register. That is what I call personalized service and this is why I have been there three times in two weeks. The store is clean and very organized. Every square foot is utilized to fit as much product. The prices are reasonable and the staff is friendly and knowledgable. Check it out. This family-owned gem is in the heart of South Tampa. No more big box store for me.

They have a very good selection of hardware needs, paint, plumbing, tools, garden and so much more. I like to go to Ace for garden supplies the most. Firstly, their plants are very well cared for. When I buy a plant from Ace, I feel pretty confident it is healthy and I can keep it alive. I always buy my soil and fertilizer here too. The plant pots here can be quite pricey, so I sometimes buy them elsewhere. Prices here can sometimes be higher than the big chain hardware stores, but sometimes lower. Depends on the item. One thing I buy here that they have the best price on is canning supplies. I make my own jams and jellies and Ace usually has the jars on sale.

Ok, so I don't really have much experience with doors and hardware to compare this one to, but I'm…read moreso satisfied with West Tampa Door & Hardware that I have no desire to explore other options. The house that I purchased was missing a couple interior doors- and I wanted to put a bifold door on the laundry room. The first time I called, Jose was super helpful- knew exactly what kind of doors I had in my house, told me how much they were in standard sizes, and gave me the name of Steve Hendon, who was the guy who would actually install the doors. Steve came out a couple days later to measure all my doorways- it's an old house so they're not standard measurements- plus the frames are kinda crooked due to settling. He promptly got that information to Jose at West Tampa Doors. When I went in to pick out my doors, again, Jose was very helpful. He gave me an exact estimate of how much the doors would cost, now that he knew the measurements and how they had to be cut to fit. I thought the prices were all very reasonable!!! Cheaper than some other big name stores. He answered all my questions...even the stupid ones (do the doors come painted? do they come with hinges?)...and was great the whole time. I will be replacing my back door in the next few months and I look forward to calling Jose again! West Tampa Door is a great example of a local business with awesome customer service.
