If you want your small children to nap, then have them walk up the steps to the slides a dozen times. There is a nice variety of playground equipment for all ages including swings, a 3 person seesaw, spinning/ climbing thing, etc. All the equipment has a castle theme which is super cute. I love that the entire playground is fenced in with fences high enough that young kids definitely cannot get over. The fencing around the steps/ platforms for the slides is also super safe to prevent falls. I feel totally comfortable letting my kids walk up and slide down by themselves while I wait at the bottom. Bathrooms nearby are better than most playgrounds. The only downside is that there isn't a lot of shade. Some benches are shaded but none of the playground equipment is shaded so you feel like you're baking on a hot day. There are covered benches at the entrance of the playground for parents. But your kids will have so much fun that they'll barely notice how hot they are.

I rented the House with the patio that overlooks the Perkiomen Creek for a family baby shower. It was so nice and cozy inside and has plenty of seating. The photos turned out nice. Many compliments on the location. I would definitely rent this house in the park again! The great thing about this particular park is you can see many joggers, bike riders, and horse back riding on the Perkiomen trail in the park; but there is enough space to not feel crowded. Otts exotic plants is nearby and makes a nice day trip if you have time to stop at both places.

My favorite thing to do here is grab lunch and sit in the picnic area relaxing on my lunch hour. Can be hard to go back to work on a gorgeous day, but well worth it in my book! There is one "not recommended" review...I have no idea what this person is talking about, this park is VERY well maintained. Grass is cut, the place is clean and the park ranger is never far from sight.

We really enjoyed this trail today, first time there!…read more The trail is relatively flat and very well maintained. There is a big loop around the lake that my dogs and I took, which is nice because it's a good walk without being too long or too short and you don't need to turn around. Lots of winding path areas so you feel pretty secluded. If you have reactive dogs you can easily step aside in many areas to let others pass. I'm excited to bring my dogs back here.

This establishment might consider some sound deadning application due to being in the proximity of Shannondale retirement community, whereby the older folks with hearing situations might have some difficulties. We all enjoy…read moretrails, and with some of us, ahem, older folks more level trails are kinder on our knees and backs. One of us had hiked most of this parks' trails, so they were familiar. Evansburg is tucked away in the world between farmland and new developments, not showy or grand, instead quietly welcoming you. There are large picnic shelters, a hysteric farm house, decent privy's for a park and ambling trails. The first trailed planned was closed due to bridge storm damage. While some of us wanted to climb down and cross the dry-appearing creek bed it spanned, others reminded us of those creaky knees and of hidden sucking mud. Ah yes. So we redirected to another trail, this one shared by horses and dog walkers, about a mile long, winding through trees, at times close enough to the parks' edge to see new development homes' carefully manicured back yards. The mostly flat trail was muddy in places, there having recently been rain, nothing un-navigable. Trail markings are "meh", typical of the less-famous state parks, keep an eye out and, we'll, follow the hoof prints. A pleasant couple hours walking off lunch in the woods.

You see families eating lunch/dinner at the pavilions, events like parties, kids running around the swing sets (as I did years ago), joggers, dog walkers, cyclists, you name it. They even have a small pond and waterfall in the back and an amphitheater!! My personal favorite thing to besides meeting up with friends is to take a walk and clear the mind. It is very peaceful and they have many paths that go through forest's and around the area, even I haven't fully explored this park!! Going at evening/sundown is my favorite time to go (as pictured below). If anyone is in the area and is looking to do something outdoors, look no further than Fischer's Park. Even if it is a leisurely stroll, it's worth it.

There's some open areas, nice views and a bridge to the PA side. I'm at 4 stars is for the bathroom and water fountains. Those are crucial considering how long the Delaware Raritan Canal Trail is, unless you bring your own water or don't mind finding a tree and some leaves in the woods to use as a toilet.

There's a little landing you can go to down by the river and dip your feet in. Along with a surprising amount of parking, there is also a nice visitor's station with restrooms that are much less disgusting than the port-a-potties elsewhere along the trail. This is a great place to start a journey along the river and/or canal!
