I booked with them about a month ago for my sons birthday, we had his party today at 3 and the inflatable was supposed to be delivered between 12-2. i just called last week to confirm the time and address and everything was good. well around 1-1:30 i started calling to see where they were at cause i was getting anxious. I called for two hours and eventually the phone started getting sent straight to voicemail and then 15 minutes before 3 they finally answered the phone. They said they weren't sure i was on the books for today and they were sorry for the inconvenience and if they could schedule me for another date and i said not to be rude but i don't have any more parties for the year and i had kids here expecting a bounce slide. So i asked if there was any way they could get something to us and she called back and said they could have something to us within the hour. so 4 o clock comes around and i call to get an eta and she says she will call me back and 20 minutes go by and nothing so i called and had to call 3 times to get an answer and she said it would be another 30 minutes before it got there and i told her not to worry as the party would be over pretty much so i would just like a refund from the deposit i already paid. fast forward to 5:30 when i'm cleaning up still and all the kids are gone i get a phone call from a different person in the company who said they would be at my house in the next 15 minutes to pick up the party rental i had for the day. i let this person know i never even received it and how much of a bad experience i had today and she said that a manager would be in touch with me shortly. I haven't spoken to a manager yet but as far as today the customer service was not great and my son didn't have the slide that he was excited for his party. this was the first time we've used this company so i do know i will not be a return customer. please excuse my language on this post, but this is about Magic by Chris / Upstate Party Rentals. I booked my party the middle of July for my daughter's 9th birthday celebration for Aug 31st. At the time I booked, I spoke with the owner's wife who told me there were no other parties that day. I advised of the location to make sure they were familiar and could deliver, she stated her husband if from the area and is very familiar with the location, no problem. She stated the bounce house would be out at 11. The week of the party, I called to confirm, I again spoke with the wife who began confirming over 60 chairs, tables and other items that clearly were for another party. She finally found my invoice and claimed that they changed systems and had lost my info. The day of the party, Aug 31st, I got a call around 10:45am stating they would be late, maybe about 30 min. I waited until 12:00 and ran down to the local grocery store. From 10:45-12:15, I know the delivery person called me at least 6 times lost. The last call to me, I advised them that I had guests arriving and I did not have time to waste trying to give them directions, I advised them to contact the owner who stated they were very familiar with the location. They finally arrived and had the bounce house set up around 1:15. I was told over the phone on Aug 31st that I would need to sign a waiver which is normal for bounce/jump events. She didn't have a pen so I had to wait for her to go find one, meanwhile I am still greeting arriving guests. Turns out, what I signed was not only a waiver, but a form stating the bounce house was to my satisfactory. Due to me rushing and I guess I would never imagine a bounce house being filthy to have to even check it never crossed my mind to inspect it, the delivery person never advising me to check the bounce house before I signed, I signed it. I finally walked down to the bounce house around 1:30 which was a good distance from my shelter. The outside of it was visibly nasty, I looked inside and dirt and leaves were everywhere. My daughter stated the bounce house was wet before her and her friend even got in to start jumping. I was furious, I text the delivery person and let them know that it was filty in which I got no response. I contacted the owner's wife who asked me to take a picture of the bounce house as if I would call during my daughter's party to make up a lie about the bounce house. She stated she would speak with her husband and call me back on Monday Sept 2nd. I received no call. I called on Tuesday and spoke with the husband who was extremely short with me, stated he would refund me $20 of what I paid. What a joke! I am a person who usually read reviews before I purchase, unfortunately, I did not with this company and from now reading the reviews, this company does not need to be in business. I have left so many reviews for this place but somehow Chris the owner has been able to revoke mine and many many others reviews. On Sunday September 22nd I had a party for my son, the inflatable was supposed to be delivered at 1. The party was at 3. I called their office for TWO hours with my phone call being ignored. 15 minutes till 3 I got an answer and they told me they didn't think they had me on the books for that day, and I said I literally just called a week ago to confirm and have proof. So she says she can get something to my party within the hour. An hour goes by and nothing so I give a call to get an ETA and she says she will call me back and then another 20 minutes go by and I call again and she says it will be ANOTHER 30 minutes. I said nevermind the party will be over I just want a refund and she said okay we can do that. Then around 5:30 I had someone else from the rental place call me saying they were going to be at the party location in 15 minutes to pick up the party rental we had, I let them know I never received it and she said a manager would be in touch with me. So I left a review on their FB page and google and they called me a scammer and said I was never even listed to book. When I called to speak with the owner the next day about my refund, he cussed me out and called me very filthy names, and threatened me. I then to went to facebook to warn others of this experience and every review anyone left was deleted, called spammers, snowflakes, mental, stupid, idiots, the list goes on. This guy has been scamming people out of their money left and right and has MULTIPLE business fronts. Anytime I tried showing them the proof of my booking they deleted it and blocked me. Rented a bounce for my two year olds birthday party. He also goes by Magic by Chris. Received the wrong bounce and told it would be two hrs before the correct one could be brought back. Just went with it, and that was a mistake. The bounce house we received was full of grass clippings and water, and smelled like mildew. Tried to contact the company for a solution and never received one. It took 3 people nearly an hr to get it cleaned up so we could use it. When the owner called back he started my wife, then when I took the phone he hung up on me. After calling back our wives reached an agreement, for a $60 refund. We posted a negative review and that's when the real fun started. The driver was 3 hrs late picking up the bounce house, getting it just after 11 pm that night. When we got home my wife received a message on Facebook asking if she wanted to be tagged in a post. The owner had taken a screen shot of her page, and posted to his. He called her stupid, an idiot, and a scammer. He even brought her place of employment into the rant. The worst part is our children and niece and nephew being seen in this post. The next day our friends who witnessed the phone call or the Facebook post began to see and post reviews. Then owner then had his driver's wife text mine asking us to stop or the owner would sue us for defamation of character. All the while he is calling people names when responding to their reviews. My wife called seeking a solution again, but when she would not back down from him, he called her a slut and hung up the phone.
