Owner is rude. Ignores the customer while she rearranges items on hangers. Very poor customer relations.

Came away with two sets of earring, a beautiful satchel handbag and a fabulous mens shirt. If we had the time, we would have certainly purchased more! The woman behind the counter was lovely as well! I know I might get some flack for this review but here goes! I'm going to start off with the good…read morebecause I do actually really like this store and they have some amazing items. It's set up very nicely with lots of great items everywhere in all sorts of nooks and crannies displayed on interesting wonderful items. It's also pretty big so you can take your time to walk around and see everything. It's a fun boutique all in all. My friend and I walked in and the girl behind the counter was on her phone the whole time looking down and did not look up once. Ok, that's fine we don't always need a greeting when walking into a shop. However, there are lots of delicate items and I would think you would want to check in to see if the customer has any questions or want to see any of the items that are placed inside the display cases that have to be opened. There was silence until my friend asked if one of the items were vermeil gold or gold plated. She had no idea and was a bit taken aback by the question but then got up and went behind to look at some sort of book. So we figured she must be looking it up. We walk around some more and about a good 20 mins later we come back and ask her did you find out and her response was, "what?" This time I asked the same question and she responds that she doesn't know and she was just looking up prices. We never asked about prices. It was just so weird and obviously apparent she did not care and was not the owner. All I kept thinking was only if the owner knew how she was handling their store. We did end up purchasing items because like I said earlier they have some wonderful items but the customer service, rather lack thereof was just ridiculous.

I was lucky enough to come across Rock Candy…read moreVintage on a day trip to this cute little town with my boyfriend, and I was impressed with the limited but highly curated selection! They carry mostly women's clothing from the 60's-80's, and have a lovely range of stonewashed denim jackets that would make Madonna proud to cute and quirky minidresses that would look at home on the Mary Tyler Moore Show (okay, I sound old!) Admittedly, Rock Candy Vintage isn't the Goodwill or Savers, and you'll be paying quite a bit for the garments sold here. However, the quality is very good, especially for the items from the 60's and 70's, considering how old the pieces are. Feel free to splurge - it's super worth it, especially when you think about what other vintage stores that sell clothing from the same eras are like, quality wise. If you're ballin' on a budget, check out the affordable selection of unique enamel pins, iron on patches, and feminist-friendly tote bags, all which come in at less that $20, but are equally as fabulous as their pricier cousins across the racks. I can't wait to come back for a dress when I have more money! I guess I'll have to settle for coveting the enamel pin with the TV Dinner on it (I told you, I'm old!) for now!

Beautiful store in many more ways than one:…read more Firstly, the SCENT inside the store is aromatherapeutic, but not in a strong herb doctor or mentholated way. It's a gentle smell, perhaps a mixture of the candles / soaps / parfums / teas they carry. Secondly, the ladies that work there are warm and inviting, welcoming us to the shop / offering complimentary iced or hot tea / providing overall GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE. Next-ly (if that's a word? and I know it's 3rd, I can count, for really), the items offered are a beautiful array of HANDMADE PRODUCTS in a wide price range for: _ home decor (furniture & accessories), _ bath (soaps, perfumes, candles), _ kitchen (some utensils, tea pots, mugs) _ children (clothes, toys), _ wearables (jewelry, some clothing, flash tats) _ gifts (cards, all of the above, and did I mention flash tats? ^ _ ^ ) Let's talk about FLASH TATS some more! Flash tats are these fun metallic temporary tattoos that adults can wear and that I first noticed some yogis wearing about a year ago. I'm into them these days - I came in wearing some - and chatted w/one of the ladies there about the small 2-pack of gold feather flash tats I was holding while she packaged the delicious tea I was purchasing. She said that her flash tats lasted her about 2 weeks which, if you're familiar with flash tats, you know that not all of them are made equal. Some come right off when you put them on but the ones sold here are long-lasting! _ GOLD FEATHER FLASH TATS ($6.50, 2-pack) She also explained that the tea I was purchasing which was the hot tea sample of the day - Cinnamon Vanilla Rooibos (red in color and looking lovely in the clear glass teapot heated by a tea light candle below it - which I think they sell and I wish I took a photo) was only 1 tbsp of the blend steeping for a few hours, and that it won't (and hadn't) become bitter. Also, the proceeds for this tea vendor go towards AIDS research! Gold star with a cherry on top! _ CINNAMON VANILLA ROOIBOS ($2.50/ounce = about 6 tbsp for this specific blend) After I purchased the tea and flash tats (9th mention here, haha!), I said to keep the change and instead of keeping in the register or putting it into a tip jar, they put it into a jar for DONATING TO CHARITY (which one I don't recall)! 2nd gold star with a cherry on top, a la mode (oui, that is vanilla ice cream). So come here if you're looking for a gift for yourself or someone else! It's a lovely experience for the senses in this lovely atmosphere of Nectar. Have and will return! Highly recommended.
