The clothes are cute and the store is great, but the staff isn't the nicest. When i went in to sell, they didn't tell me exactly what they bought and they never did. I think they give too little for the quality products people bring in especially when they're name brand. When i kept asking to know what they bought, they didn't care at all and kept whispering among themselves, i don't know what about but it doesn't look good. I will continue to shop here but i didn't appreciate the selling experience so i won't ever sell here again. read more

Wow Good thing I checked this out without checking reviews first. Stumbled across this location leaving the Parks Mall. 1)Customer service was decent. Wasn't greeted when I came in, which personally works for me. Don't bombard my space. 2) Many quality items and brands to choose from. Kate Spade, Michael Kors, Skies are Blue, and Sam Edelman to name a few. They also had trend brands like Express, lower ones as well like Forever 21, Charlotte Russe, some target brands etc. 3)The store was VERY clean. And it was mid-day on a weekend. 4)Checkout was easy and those at the counter were very helpful. 5)They did have some items marked down, you just had to hunt for them. 4 instead of 5 stars because the pricing on some of their lower brands, shouldn't be the same as the higher ones. But for the most part the store was priced accordingly. read more

This has been my SECOND unpleasant experience. The youth have nasty attitudes (that's a lot coming from a 21 year old) My first experience was a rude girl standing by the fitting rooms and waited for me to ask for a dressing room before even acknowledging I was standing there. Today a younger boy was there who very attentive so I appreciated him! I stood behind a man who was checking out. Today, There were 3 girls at the checkout stand. Girl 1 was checking out the man. Girl 2 was on her cell phone or doing work at the counter(couldn't tell) tried to seem busy? Girl 3 was writing on a clipboard. It wasn't until a FOURTH girl came back from putting clothes away that Girl 2 decided to ask "are you ready to checkout?" After I had already been standing there for almost 8 minutes waiting on Girl 1 to finish with the ONE customer in line who bought one dress. I would understand the delay of service if this place was understaffed but there were more employees than customers in there at the time. Hammer in the nail: Apple Pay doesn't work. So I wasted an hour here just to leave with nothing. I could've wasted less time if I was helped earlier. No complaints on the clothes. I always find at least one thing to walk out with- when I can actually make a purchase. read more

I was not impressed when I stopped in to shop here. I was hoping to find a nicer and more organized version of Plato's Closet. Uptown Cheapskate was about as nice as Plato's Closet with the same quality of clothes. Most were low quality brands that were almost the same price as they are in stores. A Forever 21 top was $28! That is overpriced for an item previously worn and most likely no more than $30 in store brand new. It is organized but it is hard to really find anything in the racks. I was disappointed by the selection and the few cute things they had there were extremely over priced. The sales people were also not helpful at all and didn't seem to find it necessary to help any customers. Definitely not worth a stop when shopping. read more

My wife shop most of her clothing from Uptown Cheapskate, Ross, sometimes at the mall. I went to store few times, and since I changed my point of view toward used clothing store. First time coming to sell my clothes here, they ask me if I wanted to leave it overnight for them to look through. The next day they call and told me they couldn't buy anything, after 2 weeks I decided to sort my clothes but I find missing items, what's disappointing is that only the ones with tags are missing, that's 5 items with tags out of the 4 bags of clothes. I even find a men shirt that i didn't even put in it! When I came back to ask they say they already donated I regret coming here in the first place and should never leave my clothes overnight. At least Plano closet give them back on the same day even when they busy! They take new tags item and don't even give money for them, it's understandable if 1 clothes is missing but not when 5 new tags is missing. read more

The employees here are always so nice. I sell my clothes here and they only take what they need. But the clothes are nice and not worn out most clothes sold at this location are new to lightly worn. Great place for finding cheaper clothes that are actually in style. If you plan to sell your clothes here don't expect to get rich, they have to buy your clothes and sell them at a lower price so they have to buy them pretty cheap. It is a good way to get rid of clothes you don't need anymore though. I personally thing choosing store credit instead of cash is better because they have a huge collection of clothes for you to choose from, especially for females. read more

Definitely the best location in the metroplex, but completely lacking in size inclusivity on social media. All of their posts are XS-M. If they would post more than three sizes, I would follow their social media so I could shop through stories. Other than that, their location really is the best location, as the staff is super friendly and it's organized very well! read more

Not a big deal but she said for every $10 you spend you get a punch on your rewards card and I spent $29.67. I was $0.33 off. Lol she wouldn't give me a third punch. Makes me not really want to come back when customer service is not really accommodating. read more

Well organized, very clean, friendly staff. They gave me an amazing price for my items and didn't make me wait nearly as long as Plato's closet. I'm just now getting around to writing this review, but in February I went in to sell some clothes and ugg boots. When they called my name after completing the buy, they told me they were taking x number of items for $33. The uggs I had brought in practically looked brand new, aside from a tiny water stain that would not be noticed unless someone pointed it out. I asked them if the uggs were included in the stuff they would be buying and the girl said 'yes, but we're pricing them low since it's almost spring.' Mind you, it was about 30 degrees out that day, so I'm sure they would've sold instantly. Since I didn't particularly like my uggs, I just decided to sell it to them anyways. Looking back, I regret my decision immensely. I will not be returning to this money hungry place ever again, especially after reading comments about them stealing from selling customers. read more

This is one of the 3 Uptown Cheapskates I've shopped, as it is the closest to my house. I always find the staff helpful, pleasant, and kind. Love to shop there, have found some awesome deals. False advertisement, terrible management. They had a $1 sale for every red/green tag. After shopping and getting to the cash register, I had a pair of shoes with a red tag. Being a nice brand, I noticed the the cashier eyed them suspiciously before ringing them up and went to talk to someone else. She came back to tell me that they weren't going to be $1 (regardless of the tag), but instead 50% off. I wanted a solid explanation to why they decided to switch the price at the last minute so I asked for the manager. The manager also couldn't give me a reasonable answer. Over and over, I tried to reason with them but they refused. They claimed that since they were nice shoes, they couldn't possibly sell them to me at the sale price. They ultimately admitted that they can decide to alter the price whenever they "see the need too". Seeing how discriminating it can be to buy certain things will definitely keep me away from coming here again. At the end of the day, its not about the shoes. Its about how they tried to scam me. Totally not impressed with this place. From the website, they mention buying/selling name brand clothing. I brought some dresses I bought on Final Sell from the Loft and was only offered money for one of the three dresses. But that was not a big deal, I could understand this place was for a younger crowd. What I was a little surprised to see was Target's Xhilaration brand on the racks. If they only dealt with name brand clothes (as mentioned on their website), why did they have Xhilaration brand clothes and shoes (nothing against Target)? It was a first (and last) for me to bring clothes in to sell rather than donate. I guess I'll have to keep looking for a place to appreciate new, "older" adult clothes. read more

I really used to like this place. However, on BlackFriday I received a "mystery gift card" that contained between $5-$100. I was told that Sunday would be "Dollar Day" and I could use my gift card then. We came in right when they opened and I walked to the front to ask if they could tell me the amount on my card so I could start shopping. I was told( by a VERY rude young lady) that I could not find out the amount until I had finished shopping and came to the front to pay. So I looked around, and found a pair of earrings to buy. I went to the front, and they took my coupon, and after about 5 minutes, and going to the back several times, they were able to say I had $10 on the coupon. My earrings only rang up to about $5, so I asked, "what about I pick something else out to be able to use what was given to me?" The young lady said "no thats not how it works, you cannot leave the line in order to redeem the remainder. The owner doesnt want to loose money." WHAT?! So IF I were to go shopping, only to find a shirt for about $10, went up there, and realized I had won the $100, I COULD NOT leave the line to get more items and use my gift. WHY EVEN GIVE THEM OUT??! I WILL NOT be coming to this location ever again, and I will be SURE to let everyone I know about this crazy ordeal and how very rude these people are. read more

Wasn't really feeling this particular location. The customer service is lacking here, no one greeted me upon walking in. I know they saw me enter the store because they watched as I walked in but turned away immediately. Besides the underwhelming customer service, the clothing is hit or miss. They had some decent things in there, but they also had some very cheap looking things that were clearly not from their buy/sell rotation. I'm thinking they just bought some cheap clothes to put on the racks at a markup. I understand you may not have enough clothes to fill the store, but really? Yeah, not going back to this location. It's a shame because I do like a few of their other locations, this one is the worst I've been to though. read more

I usually go to the Uptown in Oklahoma City (where I go to college) and have rave reviews for that one, so I thought I'd sell some of my clothes at the Arlington one because that's where I'm from. My mom washed, neatly folded and packed half my closet into boxes and we drove down to uptown. Walked in at 6:55 carrying the boxes and no one greeted us or told us where to put the boxes. We set them down and waited. A worker walked up and asked me if I was here to buy, and when I said yes she said that they don't buy past 6. When I pointed out that their website said they buy until an hour before they close (which the website said was 9pm) she said "sorry if the website is wrong but we don't buy past 6". So I grabbed my things and left. They either need to change their website or honor what it says there. I shouldn't have to drive down to figure out that the information I was given was incorrect. I'll take my name brand clothes to Plato's closet instead or only visit the Oklahoma City Uptown from now on. read more

Ugh. I went to Uptown Cheapskate last night. I was trying to clean out and make a little money at the same time. I called in advance and asked what the pay scale is on designer handbags. They said the charge 50% retail and pay 30% of that. I thought I would give it a go and took two good purses and a bucket full of name brand clothing like Citizens of Humanity, Sevens, Rachel Roy etc. Honestly, I was mostly interested in selling the two handbags. When I was walked into the store and put my stuff on the counter there were two sales associates checking people out. I stood there for 3 minutes without anyone saying a single word to me. I did however hear one of the girls say, "We're still taking buys?" Nice. I went ahead and filled out the paperwork on my own and waited. One girl finally came over to me, not overly friendly, and told me it would be about a10 minute wait, not bad. As I waited, I walked around the store. I will say that the prices are decent for the brand of clothing on most things. It did give me pause that they would resell a Target dress for $10...how much was it to begin with? I saw them looking up my handbags and heard them having a discussion. They called my name and said my buy was ready. They are a little sneaky. She told me my offer.....wait for it... $51 store credit and I didn't hear the rest. As she was telling me the offer, she presented the bucket of what they didn't take. Before she could finish, I asked to see what they did take. Of course, they took my two designer hand bags, one retailed at $700 and another for $170 AND some boots, and jeans and maybe a dress or two. WHAT??? How in the world do they do their math? I calmly asked her if she thought I was crazy? No way would I take that offer. I brought up what I was told on the phone re: their pay scale. She replied that they could sell a handbag for that much. Well, even if they tried to sell the $700 bag for $200, my 30% would have been $60. Of course I didn't take their offer If they can't afford to purchase premium handbags, they need to say that they aren't buying them at this time, NOT low ball me. I will never go there again. I will stick to my Buy/Sell/Trade sites on FB...it might take a little longer but it's worth it. read more

Over all I didn't like the experience. When I first walked in I stood there for a about 5 minutes. Nobody said "Hello" or welcomed me in. I know they noticed me because two of the girls starred right at me and the went back to doing other things. A few minutes after that one of the girls came to help me helped me and had me fill out a paper to sell my items. Once again I didn't feel very welcome. She seemed to have an attitude and wasn't very good at explaining what was going to happen. I Had new items that were from decent companies. Such as New York and company,rue 21, Black and White,and so on. They gave them back to me along with majority of my other items. They took 2 of them and did not tell me wich ones. ( I revived a total of $6) Honestly it was a waist of time and I wouldn't sell there again. Honestly I probably won't buy from there either. read more

Not quite sure why it has such bad reviews. Personally, I love to shop here for dresses and shoes. They have great deals on name brand/quality clothing. I walked in and was greeted but not followed around or harassed like at department stores. They have a dressing room to try stuff on, and it's definitely better quality than Platos Closet. I've tried to sell stuff here too and they rejected 3 large bags of clothing but I mean, they take what they think will sell. I recommend this place. read more

I stopped by here for a few minutes per a reccomendation and I was impressed! The store was bright and clean and larger than I expected. There is a TON of stuff to look through but I was looking for two particular items for Halloween and found them in under 10 minutes. There was a large staff on hand so checkout was a breeze and they were friendly and polite. I will be returning when I have more time to see if there is anything I can't live without. read more

Lacking in customer service, rude and unprofessional!!

I would give them 0 stars if that were an option. I went there for a sale they were having that stated any clothes in this area of the store could be put in a specific bag for $15. I shopped for an hour or so, then stood in a line for 30 minutes waiting just to find out that most the clothes I had picked out in that specific sale area weren't included in the offer. Some of them were on a rack right next to the sale without a sign to let people know that it wasn't on sale. Others were deep in a bucket that had clothes included in the sale and weren't on sale. No signs anywhere, very messy. I will never go back. read more

This franchise is an awful example in upholding the values of this business. The employees are rude and very unprofessional. Today, I picked up items that weren't even looked at (nothing was unpacked). They bought 3 items just to say they bought something. I had to bring attention to their behavior. I had to call them to be informed that my items were ready! Seems as though they want you to arrive after 8:00 so they have more claim to a store credit. As I left the store, the girls behind the counter laughed and snickered-no one was shopping there at this time. I've notified corporate and hope they administer training or hire a more professional and efficient staff! read more

I was referred by a friend. Was told this place buys used clothes that aren't messed up. Have a bunch of clothes and a pair of shoes that are brand new that were refused. My sister died before I could give her birthday presents to her. There's no reason for them to turn down clothes and shoes that still had tags. I wouldn't give this place any stars if I could. I asked the girl why wasn't the clothes taken and I guess because I questioned her she got a little snobby. She seen i was upset about this whole situation and proceeds to be a smartass when I left. I'll never go back to this place. All it is, is false advertisement. Take your clothes to Plato's Closet. read more
