I've stayed in Hotels in may countries and may places and I have to say that Urban Beach is pretty damn wonderful. It's a boutique hotel that has 12 rooms and a beautiful bar. The staff are friendly and relaxed and the rooms are comfy and cute. They have a cat. He's called Colin. Don't let him in your room, he'll puke in your shoes. This is my kind of play. A home away from home. After looking at all the other hotels around, Urban Beach really is quite different, they don't have patterned carpet and matching curtains and they certainly don't have in-your-face staff and boring rooms. I read a few reviews in other places saying it wasn't kid friendly, I don't think this is the case. It's certainly not wheelchair friendly but kids, sure. read more

Uber trendy boutique hotel for would-be surfer dudes. Created by publicist extraordinaire Mark Cribb, also behind the Urban Reef restaurant and bar on the beach. The award winning hotel has 12 rooms. Rack rates run from £90 to £170, but vary with season. In May '10, they are also doing dinner, B&B for 2 for £160 - not Fri/Sat. There's a bar and bistro, with a deck for catching the rays. If you want somewhere ideal for the beach but also away enough from town to relax this is a great place for you. A mile and a half out of Bournemouth but still in walking distance via a lovely sandy beach this hotel and bar is a great find. Small but perfectly formed, the rooms are clean and modern and the service friendly but relaxed. The food is good too, unpretentious but better than average, good drinks and cocktail menu too. has a beautiful outdoor terrace which is perfect on sunny days, or non sunny days (as it's fully covered). they have a cocktail list and a million different spirits behind the bar. i was sad it was the middle of the afternoon and i was only stopping for one. i'm extremely sad that i did not see the cat named colin - i hope he is still around! read more

Brilliant place for dinner and drinks, totally revamped for the better into a boutique hotel, bar and restaurant several years ago. Great vibe, fabulous drinks and staff that actually seem to care you're having a good time, with outside decking area for when its good enough outside. read more

This was an excellent place to stay. We had 2 rooms and both were very cool and comfortable. I would recommend to anyone who finds their way to Bournemouth. Save your appetites for the breakfast! No complaints, I look forward to my next visit. read more
